It gets even worse when Ryan lurches from the ground and flies onto the couch. He wiggles around on his back, hips writhing in the air, then flips to his front. Oliver wants to grab him. He wants to tug Ryan’s hips until he leaves bruises and he wants to bite the bare skin of his thighs until he’s pink and red. He wants Ryan squirming not because of the music but because of Oliver’s touch. He wants and he wants and he wants and he thinks the wanting might bowl him over this time.

Summary
Ryan tilts his head, quizzical, and Oliver wonders if he even remembers the pictures. They might only have been sent days ago but normally something like that Oliver himself would easily forget, lost in the shuffle of new lines and call times and reshoot dates. It’s unusual for such an impression to have been made and Oliver’s not sure he likes it. He’s certainly not sure he likes that it appears he’s alone in it.
“Thought we might take a photo for Insta,” he explains. Then waggles his eyebrow and adds, “And then maybe recreate a certain fanart and take one not for the consumption of the general public.”
Ryan’s brow furrows momentarily, and then clears out and he grins, huffing a laugh through his nose. “Seriously?” he asks, a touch disbelieving — Oliver is usually the victim of on-set hijinks, not the instigator — but he’s on board, if him standing from the couch can be taken to mean that.
“Just a bit of fun,” Oliver guarantees, and steps into the tiny trailer bathroom.
Or: Oliver finds some buddie fanart online and decides to recreate it with Ryan, for a laugh. They go off-script.

Summary
“You’re in pain,” Ryan says gently.
“I’m British,” Oliver replies lightly. “Having a stiff upper lip about these sorts of things is sort of our brand, so if you could leave me in peace to be British, that would be great.” Oliver gasps out the last few words of his sarcastic joke because he got hit with a major wave of pain shooting down to the bottoms of his toes.
“Okay,” Oliver glares. “I am in pain.”
Ryan doesn’t smile this time; he is all too used to Oliver deflecting with a joke. Instead, Ryan reaches over and rests his hand briefly on Oliver’s leg above his knee. Oliver feels the heat of his hand on his thigh, and though it doesn’t ease the pain, it does help something inside Oliver thaw just a bit.
He swallows and tries to remain perfectly still – worrying that if he moves even a millimeter in any direction, Ryan will realise what he was doing and move his hand back to a safer, more ambiguous space. A space that didn’t lead to questions or answers.
Or, Ryliver is stuck in Nashville during the storm, Oliver is having a chronic pain flare-up, and they finally talk about it.
