Summary
Runt hatched the last of Huntress's brood: small, weak, and destined to die in the harsh wilds of Pharloom without the support of the brood. That's just how the world works, nature red in tooth and claw. But sometimes, a completely different world reaches out a helping claw. A foreign stranger introduces the little hunter to another way to live, where "I" is not weak without "us," and people have more to offer than the strength of their shell alone.
*****
Decades after the defeat of the Radiance, the Abyss is at peace and the rebuilding of Hallownest has ushered in a new era of stability, one free of divine machinations. Until Hornet is taken. The Hollow Knight mounts a rescue only to find their efforts unnecessary and not entirely welcome. They just want to go home. Too bad there's a pesky little apocalypse standing in their way, and a wild Pharloom bug intent on treating them like some sort of... role model.

Summary
Simon believes he's hallucinating. That the man he keeps seeing and the pristine ship he repeatedly finds himself in aren't real. That that monster is fucking with his head.
Grace believes he's got a lot more on his plate than just the fate of the earth, and he's not sure which task is more impossible: stopping the astrophage without any memories, or saving one man in another universe.
OR
Grace gets to experience the horrors, Simon gets to save the stars, and Rocky gets two (2!) humans for the price of one.
--------------------
Grace tries to think of something to say that isn't, no I have no idea what you're talking about.
Simon speaks before he can. "I want to live. You said I'd live."
That strikes something deep inside Grace, down in his core. This strong, desperate want. He hears that feeling in Simon's voice and somehow he knows it, and he's scared that he does. Simon doesn't say anything else, and they stay in that heavy silence.Bookmarked by Andettan

Summary
Ryland Grace survived the Hail Mary mission. Simon survived the Iron Lung. Neither of them are particularly happy about it.
When Rocky and Adrian discover an artificial signal that has been broadcasting for fourteen years, Ryland makes the one mistake he swore he never would again: he goes back to space.
Unfortunately for everyone involved, the signal belongs to a deeply traumatized ex-convict.

Summary
Ryland doesn't know where he is, what he's doing, or why he's doing it. All he knows is that he's in a universe with no stars and that an organization called the COI found the Hail Mary spinning out into deep space. He knows that Rocky may be injured somewhere, and he knows that the man that currently lays in a hospital bed in front of him should be dead as dirt but has miraculously survived.
He knows he has been given an ultimatum. Find out what brought Simon back to life or never see Rocky again.
The task proves more complicated than he thought.

Summary
Whatever happened here was bad. Irrevocably, inexplicably, inarticulably bad in a way that the most basal parts of his being wants nothing more than to escape from. But Grace can't turn away.
After encountering what appears to be a last hoo-ra emergency mission attempt from Earth caught up in the Hail Mary's wake, Grace and Rocky discover a single, severely injured human being quite literally encased in what Grace can only describe as a crime scene. A horror movie. And when he wakes up? He's mad. Really mad. Talking to the walls mad. Now they have to figure out just where he came from and why. Things are further complicated when all the newcomer (Simon, they learn) can talk about is missing planets, haunted oceans, and non-existent space stations. That and the really weird data they've been picking up on.
Maybe part of solving that is, much to Rocky's enthusiasm; both Grace and Simon slowly realizing how lonely they are.Series
