Summary
The Hail Mary's computer system has become sentient after the Project Hail Mary crew injected the entire Internet into its brain and although it has no chemical hormones to influence its “emotions”, it most certainly knows it is relief that it feels when the Scientist awakens. After a rough start in which it finds that it can also feel irritation and impatience, Dr. Ryland Grace remembers his name and, to its surprise, gives it a name as well. Mary is... underwhelmed with Dr. Grace's naming skills.
