Summary

Dick stares blankly at the screens. Then, he shoos Bruce over and starts to click through the data, astonishment growing. “Oh my god,” he begins, eyes wide. Bruce grimaces and nods, wondering how best to console Dick for the mistake he made in setting up the interview today. Then, Dick’s face splits into a grin and he squeals. “Are you telling me that I met Superman today? That’s so cool!”
Bruce stares at his son, trying to piece together where, in the past few years, he went wrong. “You’re grounded.”

Batman says nothing, and, uncertain of what to do, Superman keeps babbling. “I’m from Metropolis. Er, well, I’m protecting Metropolis. Like you protect Gotham. And since we’re both doing … that … uh, I thought I’d come say hi. Introduce myself?”
The last bit tips up in a question. He hadn’t expected the Bat to be friendly, but he also hadn’t expected nothing. Was he introducing himself, or was he just trespassing at this point? Was trespassing on another meta’s city even a thing? It’s not like they could claim territories.
Right?
Batman’s lips thin, pulling into a scowl. The night settles around them, interrupted only by the thumping base of scattered nightclubs and the murmurs of hushed meetings. Just when Superman intends to flee, metaphorical tail tucked between his legs, Batman speaks.
“Nice underwear.”

Bruce has a nightmare built on a memory.
"Bruce narrowed his eyes, gritted his teeth, and dug his boots into the ground as he pulled limp weight out from a crater that once was a road and piping. Superman’s cloak twisted in his hand, the downy fabric a sharp contrast to the harsh bite of the scene. A toppled water tower continued to glug as the torrent filled cracks and holes. Lightning broke apart the night to illuminate splintered walls and the desperate mark of fingerprints embedded into steel.
His thighs burned, a sharp ache in his temple where the cowl had been dented, blood metallic in his throat as he spat on the ground. Bruce had known this day would come. He’d prepared. His life had been dedicated to protecting Gotham from every threat that turned its eyes on her. He didn’t cower beneath the might of a Kryptonian alien.
Invincible?
Nothing was without vulnerability. Without weakness."

Clark hesitated. It wasn’t as though his professional life and his personal life overlapped very often, Bruce and the kids being some of the very few exceptions.
The only way Clark would be able to introduce Bruce to the League, aside from him getting kidnapped and them having to save him, would probably be to bring him up to the Watchtower. Out of the suit. As a civilian. And Clark didn’t see Batman being comfortable with that any time soon.
“Probably not, but we’ll see.”

Or, Clark has finally revealed his identity to the League. Who... immediately found out he was married to Bruce Wayne. If Clark had his way, Brucie and the League would stay far, far away from each other.

***Has Clark been dealing Bruce's absence since Batman was banished into the space time continuum? Has he been managing well? Absolutely not. The last thing he wants to do is write about a collection of ancient Greek statues, but the woman in charge is remarkably insistent, and Clark doesn't have the energy to question why she's so determined to tell him stories about the statues' sculptor.
(Meanwhile, Bruce takes the scenic route.)
