    Summary

We all know those stories where Severus Snape travels back into his younger body to right his mistakes, but now the question is: what happens after?

The timeline has been irreparably changed, and this time hopefully for the better.

In their sixth year, as tensions of the outside war seep into Hogwarts, the school makes a desperate move: assigning Slytherins and Gryffindors as partners for a Transfiguration project. What sounds like a disastrous idea, however, becomes the catalyst for a fresh start between Serina Snape and James Potter.

    Summary

Severus Snape has his emotions in check. He knows that he experiences anger and self-loathing and a bitter yearning, and that he rarely deviates from that spectrum… Until the first-year Luna Lovegood arrives to his class wearing a wreath of baby’s breath. Over the next six years, an odd friendship grows between the two, and Snape is not sure how he feels about any of it.

This is one of the best Lily Evans stories I've read; I love it because she's so human. In the canon, we only saw her through the eyes of other characters—and there were very few of them—but she's always portrayed as a saint and highly idealized.
It's... such a shame we never got to know what she's really like.

On the other hand, I love how the relationship between Severus and Lily develops; I love how neither of them is perfect and how they really strive to be better. I almost never read Snily fanfiction because the main problem I see is that only one person puts effort into the relationship, while the other is portrayed as perfection incarnate.

But not here! and I like that! I think this is exactly how a Snily story should be written.

    Summary

When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.

Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.

Alternate 6th summer (and part of the school year): post-OotP; ignores HBP and DH. No slash, no romance. NOW COMPLETE!

I think this should be the standard for how a redeemed Severus Snape and a good Severitus should be written; many works fall into the trap of either redeeming him too easily or portraying him as pure evil. Here, it’s the complete opposite, the change wasn’t radical, but rather the result of genuine effort behind it, and it does a great job of respecting what Severus Snape is: a gray character.

I also love the writing of the other characters; they’re all so… human, and that’s something I love to see in any work.

If you want a satisfying reading experience, I highly recommend this work.
