Summary
Castiel slips from his chair to kneel at Dean’s feet. He takes Dean’s hands in his, and there on the floor holding something with devotion, he understands Communion. He understands Eucharist. He understands believing in someone so deeply that to shelter a piece of them within yourself is an act of untempered faith, love and prayer and deep-wide trust.

Summary
Cas. Cas was gone. Forever. Dean was lying on his bed staring at the ceiling hungover out of his mind, head throbbing, nauseous to say the least. He laid there wondering how long he could last before running to the washroom to throw up whatever filth he drank to drown his sorrows last night.
And that was about it. He got up, stumbling to the bunker washroom until he could throw himself over the toilet heaving, Bile bubbling up his throat much like guilt does every so often.
Dean knows who he is and who he is becoming. He’s seen it before but never like this. It’s never been like this. Snapping at Sammy, not having the energy to eat, drinking himself silly every night until he can pass out without trying to fall asleepCas comes back, feelings are had eventually (mostly Dean's pov)

Summary
“I think I want to build a house.”
Cas looks up from his book, surprised: probably both that Dean spoke, and by the words that he said. “What about the bunker?”
“Not enough windows.” Dean shifts, hospital gown crinkling. His jello cup sits half-eaten on the white tray in front of him. “Now that there’s no Devil or God or cosmic threat—I want windows.”
Shutting his book, laying it on his lap, Cas asks, “Do you have a property in mind?”
“Yeah.” Dean picks up the jello cup again, spooning the red, wobbly stuff into his mouth. “Yeah, I know a place."
----
Cas is human. Dean doesn't die on the rebar. Together, they rebuild.
