Summary
Every time the dream began the same way.
Rome would approach the ridge, glance toward the figure, and greet them with familiar ease. The words always left his mouth naturally, as if they had been spoken countless times before.
The figure would turn slightly at the sound of his voice. Their expression carried the faint suggestion of a smile, quiet, patient, and somehow warm.
But the face never became clear.
