... It must be the alpha instincts that transformed Draco so completely when it came to Harry. Harry honestly can’t picture the boy he knew during the war wanting to be friends with him, let alone mate with him, no matter how much he would have been thrilled to have Harry’s attention.But if Harry changed when he became an omega, Draco must have done the same when he became an alpha.

Harry thought of what Draco had said about Steven: “I wonder how he’ll turn out. It’ll go one way or the other. Bitterness, or redemption.”
Bitterness, or redemption.
Draco could not have decided to become a better person for selfless reasons: not when he crouched alone in Azkaban, orphaned, despised and imprisoned. Had he tried, he would likely have awoken the bitterness. So instead, he had found a self-serving reason to push himself towards redemption. He was Slytherin through and through (Harry remembered how the hat had called out Draco’s house), and so, his goodness was different from Harry’s.
Wherein being under close supervision with Harry Potter was Draco Malfoy's leniency.

Dating Draco Malfoy, Harry thinks, will mean being at arms length outside of sex. No unnecessary physical contact or displays of affection. He wants him anyway, inexplicably. Perhaps that is exactly the kind of person he should be with, someone who will never need Harry to kiss him first, because Harry doesn't think he'll ever be that person.
