Chapter Text
The performance had just ended and it was now time for you to bid farewell to the two bots that had been glued to your side throughout the performance. Glancing at your Fazwatch you made a mental note of the time ‘Okay 8:30, should have plenty of time to get changed and maybe get a few rounds of Fury’s Rage in before starting.’ You were so lost in your mental plan that you failed to notice the purple bunny draping an arm over your shoulders and leaning down to be at eye level with you.
“Hellooo? Earth to (Y/n)?” It was the large lilac paw coming closer to your face that ended up stopping your train of thought all together. Flinching slightly you looked up at the animatronic, the rabbit in question having a sly smile creeping up on his features at having pulled you from your thoughts. A loud metallic thud resonated throughout the second floor causing your eyes to widen to the size of dinner plates; Foxy had just bonked Bonnie over the head with the rounded side of his hook. Clutching between his ears the rabbit all but folded in on himself, shooting daggers to the culprit.
“Foxy?! The heck was that for?!” A pout sat cutely on his once smug face and you were back to biting your tongue in order to contain your laughs. Foxy dusted off his hook for dramatic effect, quiet chuckles rumbling out of his chest.
“It’s not nice tae disturb someone’s thoughts Bonnie, thought ye knew better than that.” He tsked the rabbit, a large paw sat comfortably atop your shoulder. “Don’t mind him (Y/n), he’s just one fur the attention.” He shook his head more in the direction of the rabbit who was just clutching at his head angrily.
By the time you had calmed down the little scene the two bots had caused, it was 8:45pm. You made your way to the staff lockers rooms to get changed into your uniform, if you were quick enough at changing you’d still be able to get at least one round of FR in at the arcade. You kept glancing at the Fazwatch sitting comfortably on your wrist, acutely aware of the minutes counting down to the start of your shift. Stuffing your casual clothes into the duffle bag and then stuffing that into your locker you headed out of the changing rooms and towards the arcade just as the announcer spoke again.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls. The Mega Pizza Plex will be closing in approximately 10 minutes. Could all remaining patrons please make their way to the exit in the main lobby, thank you and have a wonderful evening.”
Score! As people flooded to the main exit most if not all of the arcade games would be open to you and not occupied by little kids with sticky hands. The thought made you cringe and you had to stop yourself from actually gagging, you were never really a fan of younger kids so it was kind of ironic that your place of work centred around children’s entertainment; you were in it for the animatronics more than anything, their advanced AI was just so fascinating. You continue your journey to the arcade, kids and adults alike pushing past you to get to the main lobby, you couldn’t help but feel awkward as you went against the grain of people, squeezing your way past a particularly snotty nosed child with haste.
Upon your arrival to the West Arcade a bright smile crept up your face as you eyed the gigantic statue that towered above you, the statue of the 4 main band members was made of solid gold. Looking to the right was the West Arcade dancefloor; home to DJ Music Man. Peaking in you sent the huge animatronic arachnid a small wave, which the gentle giant was quick to return. DJMM was a bot of few words, but you had heard some crazy stories about a couple of parties that had been thrown here; one that even resulted in Freddy needing major maintenance work done because of his dancing. Dragging yourself up the twisting two flights of stairs you huffed once at the top and finally at your destination. Fury’s Rage was practically calling your name at this point and you wanted nothing more than to work on your high score before starting your gruelling 10 hour shift. What you didn’t expect, however, was for a large green form to be hunkered over your beloved arcade game grumbling to himself as he massed buttons and the joycon angrily, clearly someone wasn’t doing good. Coming up by the alligator' side you peaked over his massive shoulder ‘Of course he’s playing as himself.’ You had to stop yourself from laughing at his narcissistic tendencies although part of you found his frustrated huffs a little endearing. When it came to Montgomery people had warned you about his famous temper. You’d only really seen or heard Monty have a temper tantrum a handful of times; whenever he was around you he was always cool, calm and collected. So seeing him now, bent over and dwarfing the console with his tail swishing in annoyance you couldn’t help the shit eating grin that made itself at home on your face.
“Struggling are we Monts?” You had crossed your arms over your chest while arching a brow at the reptilian, who in turn didn’t even spare you a glance and continued harassing the buttons.
“Nah I’m a pro at this game Chèr.” His button mashing told you a different story and it didn’t help that after stating he was a so called “pro” large bold red words reading “Game Over” appeared on his screen, his grumbling turned into growls; he was probably ready to turn the machine into shrapnel.
Stepping in to save the machine's life you chuckle at the angry animatronic “easy there tough guy why don’t you let the real pro take over huh?” Begrudgingly, the taller animatronic stood away from the game letting you take over. Running through the character roster you ended up picking Monty as well and you swore you saw him pull down his star shaped shades to make sure he wasn’t seeing things. You made the game look like child’s play but as you entered the third stage of the game your Fazwatch started beeping at you angrily, alerting you to the start of your shift ‘Ah shit’ groaning loudly it hurt you to let your character get surrounded and pummelled by a large group of enemies. Stepping back from the arcade you stretched yourself out before your attention returned to the alligator; you’d actually almost forgot he was with you because of how quietly he’d been sitting watching you. “Okay Monty I gotta jet, get to your room and I'll come check on you and the guys in a bit.” The Gator returned to his full height now towering over you again, he gave a toothy grin down at you. The pair of you walked to the exit chattering amongst yourselves it stayed that way until the pair of you eventually had to part ways. You both said your goodbyes. It was only after he got a little ways away that you shouted after his hulking form “See ya later alligator.” Fair to say he wasn’t too impressed with your joke. You floated around in Rockstar Row for a while to ensure that Monty had actually gone into his green room and not snuck off to somewhere else of the Pizza Plex. Once you were sure he had actually gone to his room, you sped walk to the main stage, taking the lift down to collect your tool bag and clock in for the night, officially starting your night shift.
