Second Chances

Summary:

What if Cassie didn’t sense Ryan at the Bell, Book, & Candle that night? What if Sam and Cassie did kiss?

In other words, Bell, Book, & Candle is saved, Cassie and Sam have stopped resisting the connection between them, but there, of course, is still drama.

Notes:

Welcome to the first fanfic of this series! I've been watching Good Witch for YEARS , and this is my first Good Witch fanfic!

So, I apparently can't watch past season 1 of the show anymore, as it was originally planned to follow season 2, but no longer does. Now it is based on what memory I have of the series past season 1 and my imagination.

All rights go to Hallmark and the creators of Good Witch.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Cassie still couldn't believe it. Bell, Book, & Candle was saved thanks to her friends and Sam, though Sam would be considered one of them. But see him as a friend.

Everyone had gone home–everyone except for Sam—she was sweeping the floor when Sam came over with the dustpan.

Cassie let out a soft sigh as she looked up at Sam. "You don't have to help."

"Well, Nick got a ride home with Brandon, and you can't do all of this by yourself," Sam replied.

"I told everyone to leave."

"I don't listen so well."

Cassie pressed her lips together, a soft smile spreading across her face.

"Yeah, I get that about you," Cassie said, causing Sam to chuckle. "Thanks." She set the broom aside, exhaling as she looked around her shop.

"I just can't believe what everybody did."

Sam tilted his head a little. "You're very popular around here."

Cassie nodded, her smile getting smaller, not vanishing but just smaller. Her eyes glistened with tears.

Sam's smile softened. "Hey, we had the teary hug earlier," he said, pulling her into his arms. "Let's have the celebratory hug."

Cassie whispered a small "okay," allowing Sam to hold her, with a small chuckle.

"No more tears."

"Sam," she whispered his name.

"No more crying." He rubbed her back.

They stood there for a few seconds, Cassie feeling warmth in Sam's embrace—and comfort—something she hadn't felt since Jake.

Cassie slowly pulled her head away from Sam's neck, their bodies staying pressed together, and her brown eyes found Sam's hazel eyes.

Their faces inch closer together; it was as if both were moving at a slow pace.

Their lips brushed lightly. "What are we doing, Cassie?" Sam whispered against her lips.

"I think we're finally being honest," Cassie replied in the same whisper.

And they kissed—fully this time.

Suddenly, all the chaos and drama of them finally ending up here seemed worthwhile.

Cassie could sense someone else watching; it wasn't a bad feeling; the other person's presence felt...familiar and strange. But she was caught up in the moment with Sam to see who was catching.
