Summary:

“You’re getting too comfortable.” Moondae chided with a flat voice.

But rather than pulling himself away, the main vocalist adjusted his posture so Sejin’s weight wouldn’t lean awkwardly against him.

Sejin hummed shamelessly. “Isn’t that a good thing, Moondaemoondae?”

“No.”

Work Text:

It all started with Lee Sejin’s habits.

Being an extrovert, he had always shown that he had no problem getting comfortably close towards people. He was always on the touchy side, always leaning against a member when he was tired or throwing his arm over a member’s shoulder when he was joking.

He would squeeze himself in between two members who were sitting on the couch, regardless of how big his body was.

And because it’s Sejin, the members had accepted these habits as part of his personality.

So when Sejin sat down beside Moondae after being given a 20-minute break and rested his head against his shoulder, the main vocalist of the group only glanced at him once and then muttered, “Move.”

“There’s nowhere to move,” Sejin said, despite the empty space on his other side.

“There is, so move.”

“Sejinnie is too tired to move, Moondaemoondae.” He whined.

Moondae was about to shove Sejin away but halted his movement when he looked at the main dancer’s condition.

His bangs, slightly damp from the sweat, were sticking to his forehead while his breath was still a bit uneven from all the dancing that he had done earlier. He had his eyes closed and Moondae was sure that Sejin was probably halfway to the dreamland at this point.

Moondae found it troublesome by the way Sejin leaned his body against him so shamelessly.

But not troublesome enough for him to waste his energy on pushing the other man away.

Returning his attention to the tablet in hand, Moondae said, “Don’t fall asleep.”

“I won’t.” Sejin fired back almost immediately.

Five minutes later, Moondae felt Sejin’s weight grow heavier against his shoulder. He clicked his tongue quietly, paused the video he had been monitoring and sighed to himself.

It was not like the position was uncomfortable; it was just kind of distracting for Moondae.

The warmth that was radiating from Sejin's body was too strong to ignore, along with the faint scent of citrus shampoo and sweat that lingered from the practice.

Every now and then, Sejin would shift in his sleep. Making his hair brush against Moondae’s neck in some ticklish way.

It was annoyingly distracting and difficult to ignore.

And just like that, the 20-minute break ended with Lee Sejin still asleep against him.

After that, the brunette started seeking out Moondae even more than usual. Whether they were monitoring together, waiting backstage, or even having dinner, Sejin inevitably gravitated to Moondae’s side.

Things got even more interesting in the dorm living room.

The dorm's couch was big enough for 5 people to sit there at once, but Sejin would act like there was barely any room left. He clung onto Moondae even when there were other spots vacant, took half of Moondae’s blanket and immediately leaned in until most of his weight was held up by Moondae.

And given how persistent Sejin was, Moondae couldn’t help but notice.

He realized Sejin never made it hard to say no. His first touch was always light and casual, easy to brush off. If Moondae tensed up, Sejin would quietly move away before anyone had said anything.

But if Moondae just sighed and kept doing what he was doing, Sejin took it as a sign to move closer.

Sejin’s behavior was calculated.

Not maliciously. Just carefully.

“You’re heavy,” Moondae said one night, when Sejin was leaning against him during a variety show rerun that none of them were watching.

The other members were sprawled across the rest of the living room, some already half-asleep while some were fiddling with their phones.

Sejin grinned, stretching his legs out even further. “You work out these days. Endure it, Moondaemoondae.”

Moondae rolled his eyes and spoke again with a dry tone. “That isn’t how it works.”

“Hmm.. Then think of it as team bonding.” Sejin nudged Moondae lightly with his elbow, as if to test how much more he could get away with it.

Someone on the far end of the couch snorted, but didn’t bother to join in the conversation.

“What are you talking about? Team bonding doesn’t require using me as a pillow.” Moondae tugged the blanket away while glaring at Sejin rather fiercely.

“Well, it does today. So, suck it up.” Sejin said in a sing-a-song tone while sticking his tongue out towards Moondae playfully.

Moondae shifted his body but didn’t push Sejin away and the big guy took that tiny bit of non-resistance gesture as a green light.

So, Sejin got even bolder after that.

The main dancer of Testar shifted closer, slow enough that it could still be passed off as coincidence, until his shoulder pressed fully against Moondae’s side and his head found a more comfortable place near the curve of Moondae’s neck.

One of his arms slipped and settled lightly across Moondae’s  waist, not quite a hug, but enough to make Moondae’s breath catch and his blank expression faltered away for a moment.

“No.”

Even so, Moondae rested his head lightly against Sejin’s and tugged the blanket up so it covered Sejin’s shoulder too. Sejin said nothing, but there was a smug smile spreading across his face, as if to tell the world that he had won against Moondae.

That was the annoying part for Moondae.

Not the weight pressing against his side. Not the warmth radiating too close to him. And not even the fact that his head was resting against Sejin’s so naturally, as if they had always sat like this.

It was the look on Sejin’s face.

Moondae clicked his tongue quietly.

‘This is ridiculous.’ he thought.

He was being used as a pillow, half of his blanket had gone towards the man with a bigger body, and that said man was clearly too happy with this outcome.

Annoying.

Completely annoying.

But, unfortunately at the same time, Moondae found it really comfortable too.

That was like the worst and most annoying part of this all.

Staring at the television without absorbing a single thing from the screen, Moondae silently weighed his options. He could move. He could say something. He could wipe that smug smile off Sejin’s face with one sharp comment.

Instead, he just stayed exactly where he was. Head still resting lightly against Sejin’s and let the warmth settle between them.

‘Let’s just give him what he wants. Just this once.’ Moondae told himself tiredly, as his eyes slowly fell shut.

Beside him, Sejin’s smile softened as he stared at the sleeping Moondae with eyes filled with adoration, and the main vocalist had already drifted too far into the dreamland to notice.
