Chapter Text

Leo POV

Looking toward the throne room doors, I blink in shock at the 2 figures I see there. I haven’t met either of them, but I know who they are.

Bianca Di’Angelo and Charles Beckendorf.

I hear a sharp inhale behind me.

“Bia?”

The girl smiles at her brother.

“Ciao, fratellino.”

Nico gets up, and slowly walks over to her. Knowing that I wouldn’t want anyone watching me having a reunion with a dead family member, I turn away and look at Beckendorf. I’ve heard a lot about him from Jake and Nyssa.

Beckendorf raises a finger at me for me to wait a second, and walks over to Silena.

“There’s someone waiting outside the throne room. She wants to talk to you before she comes in.”

I don’t know who he’s talking about, but the way Silena’s eyes widen she does know.

As she walks out of the room, Beckendorf approaches me, and I feel my hands light on fire in excitement. His eyes widen slightly, and then he grins.

“You’re a fire user?! Dude, that’s awesome!”

I smile nervously, and he sits down.

“Tell me about Festus. I know a fair bit because he was my last project before I died but I’m sure you have a lot more to tell me.”

Fire starts to crawl up my entire body, and then I’m hit with a wave of water.

Blinking, I shake my head furiously. Some water gets on Beckendorf, but he shrugs.

“No harm done, little brother.”

Hazel POV

Laughing slightly at my now-soaked boyfriend, I raise an eyebrow at Alex. He sighs dramatically but gets up and dries Leo with a touch.

“Thanks, Aquaman.”

“Not a problem, Human Torch.”

It took me a little bit to get the references, but Leo introduced Frank and I to Marvel and DC early in our relationship and now I’m honestly probably a bigger fan than him.

Nico walks over, followed by Bianca, and amethysts pop up around me. She picks one up, and I tense in remembered agitation before Nico puts a hand on my shoulder.

Thankfully, Peré removed my curse as my reward for my actions in the Giant War, so they can be touched without danger. Mars removed the whole Frank’s-life-being-tied-to-a-stick thing, and Hephaestus also gave Frank and I some fire invulnerability, because we’re dating Leo

I look nervously at Bianca, and she smiles reassuringly at me.

“Hello, little sister.”

She hugs me, and I relax in content as she gently strokes my butterfly wings.

“Thank you for taking care of Nico.”

“Hey!”

Nico lets out an offended chirp and Bianca raises an eyebrow.

“Little brother, don’t even start.”

He opens his mouth to argue, and then blinks for a second.

“Fine.”

Notes:

Ciao, fratellino (Italian): Hello, little brother

Peré (French): Father

I picked amethysts to be the gems popping up around Hazel because amethysts are one of the gems commonly known for helping with anxiety
