-Role: Brutal fighter / Fisher Tiger wishes not to pass on his rage and hatred of humans; former slave, born into slavery, Tiger freed him when he was 13
-Personality: Impulsive, cruel, racist towards humans. Does not approve of Tiger’s ideals.
-Skills: Sharp bite, formidable physical strength, fast swimmer, saw-nose used as a weapon.
-Design: Initially the size of an adult human, he grows over the years to over 2.6 meters tall, muscular, pronounced jaws, long serrated nose.

-Role: Ship’s doctor
-Personality: Discreet, intelligent, protective. Highly respected by peers.
-Skills: Aquatic medicine, knowledge of poisons, underwater combat.
-Design: Hammer-shaped head, often bare-chested with a marine medical kit.

-Age at the time: 19 years old at the beginning of the story
-Role: Versatile fighter / Ink shooter
-Personality: Kind, naïve, loyal, sociable despite intimidating appearance.
-Skills: Can use six arms to wield multiple swords simultaneously, master of ink to blind and disorient enemies.
-Design: Compact body, pale pink skin, six muscular arms, large expressive eyes, tribal tattoos on arms.

-Species: Seahorse Fish-Man
-Age at the time: 16 years old at the beginning of the story
-Role: Fighter
-Personality: Reserved, mysterious, cool and laid-back attitude, former slave like Arlong, born into slavery as well.
-Skills: Uses very powerful water spits.
-Design: Same size as Arlong, Arlong’s best friend, pale blue-green skin.

-Role: Expert in fish-man karate / Elite fighter
-Personality: Proud, loyal, rigorous, very respectful toward Arlong and Tiger, but distrustful of humans.
-Skills: Grand master of fish-man karate, powerful punching and kicking techniques, fast and agile swimmer.
-Design: Wide hammer-shaped head, visible scars, simple clothing (flowing pants), warrior tattoos.

-Species: Puffer Fish (Fugu) Fish-Man

-Personality: Calm, composed, quiet but effective, loyal.
-Skills: Can inflate his body to protect himself from attacks, capable of releasing toxins or paralytics (like a real puffer fish).
-Design: Round and inflatable body, spotted patterned skin, small lively eyes, light armor.

-Personality: Fierce, loyal, discreet, little known by the public.

-Personality: Lively, dreamy, full of hope. Loves stories and humans.

-Personality: Calm, calculating, always reserved. Loyal to Jinbei and Tiger, former slave.
-Skills: Shoots with harpoon-shaped marine crossbows, extreme precision. Can pierce ship hulls.

-Role: Duelist / Tiger’s close protector
-Personality: Serious, silent, very loyal. Friendly rivalry with Jinbei; many think they’ll eventually mate, former slave.
-Skills: Wields two ultra-thin swords she spins underwater like sharp fins.
-Design: Slim, elegant, long dorsal fin, eye mask like a band.

-Personality: Philosopher, protector, former slave.
-Skills: Reads currents, marine architecture, can swallow objects and spit them out at high speed.

Sora
-Species: Human female
-Age at the beginning of the story: 14
-Role: Orphan from a very poor coastal village often destroyed and ravaged by the Navy or slave traders. Her father was killed when she was very young for trying to rebel; her mother recently died from illness.
-Personality: Insolent, rebellious, violent, always carrying a knife, ready to fight until her last breath, has never seen fish-men in her life.
-Skills: Clever, manipulative, and knows how to stay low-key.
-Design: 14-year-old girl, long wavy brown hair, very beautiful smile, piercing eyes.
