This is partly a rewrite of my old fic by the same name after it being in WIP limbo for way to long. Now I'm back and the creative wheels are spinning and I got planes. Enjoy!

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

The woman woke up shaking, eyes glowing bright gold as words from beyond flowed through her. First it comes out stumbling only a few phrases.

“Magic stirs, ......Grettir´s three, .......from ashes rise.”

This is enough to wake her wife next to her who imminently reaches for a voice recorder and pressing start before helping her wife sit up against the headboard.

“I´m here honey, deep breaths, just let it all out” Slowly stroking her hair as golden eyes stares blindly out in the aether. After a few more stuttering attempts the prophecy start coming through crystal clear.

”Magic stirs that long has slept
And creatures of old appear
Misplaced in time they stumble forth
In mortal hearts strike fear

Courage, strength and magic
Walk once more throughout the land
Grettir´s three have come again
Together they must stand

The old ways are not quite as dead
As they are thought to be
And old foes from the ashes rise
To strike against the three”

As the last words was spoken the prophetess falls back shaking into her wife’s strong arms, golden glow slowly fading from her eyes. Her wife hugs her tightly, supporting her whole wight as she goes limp like a marionette with cut strings. They stay like this until the last of the gold has left her eyes, then and only then does her wife reach out and stops the recording. She pulls a small potion bottle from the night-stand, the liquid swirling inside a calming blue, uncorks it and holds it up to her wife’s lips. She support her head as she takes small sips.

“Slowly now my love, that was a bad one” She keeps holding her upright until the potion was all gone before carefully lowering her back the headboards fluffing up the pillows behind her head and back. The prophetess takes a few more deep breaths before trying to speak.

”...Thank *cough* thank you, dear.”

“Easy easy, don’t push it. Can I get you something? Tea? Aspirin? A hug?” The prophetess smiles at her wife anxious hovering.

“Tea would be lovely. But first let me hear it.” Wordlessly her wife presses play on the recorder both of them truly hearing the prophecy for the first time.

“Well shite that’s ominous, we should probably tell Merlin”

“After you rest, my love. It didn’t sound like the world is actively ending right now.”

“You are right as always. Tomorrow then.”

“Tomorrow, now rest while i make you that tea.”
