Izuku sat back in his chair with a thoughtful expression, glancing at the rolling chat as he pulled up a document on his screen, sharing it with his viewers. He couldn’t help the small grin that grew on his face. Dramatic music played in his headset.
Indigamer: SAY THE C WORD
RETSTROKE: welcome back!
ヒーロー愛好家六: こんにちはチャット!
nervclouds: man’s got a cinematic score for his stream
s_orry_driver: Deku stream?
vivavido34: あなたの超能力は何ですか
All_Ass_Might: HIIIII YOUTUBE!!!!
Kekw’s and Pepe’s frogs were mixed into the chat log, mainly composed of English and Japanese chatters. English was the majority for this stream, though; as he usually states in the stream description what language he’s going to be mostly sticking to. Still, there will always be Japanese chatters in chat no matter what language he’s speaking.
He let himself read the chat a little before finally looking at the webcam. “We made a bot,” a pause, “to scrape. Every. Single. Twitch account that had ‘Endeavor’, ‘Mirko’, ‘Ingenium’, ‘All Might’. All of them.”
Scrolling a bit more to show the massive compiled list, his grin turned wolfish. “Every. Single. Fucking one.”
Chat was fucking loosing it.
“And we’ve got a bot who's going to go through all of these commands live,” he spoke slowly.
The music built up in his ears.
“Gentlemen, if you’re a part of the lucky few who will remain after this purge… I don’t know what to say, gentlemen, but this?” He typed and copied the command into the chat. “This is what it’s all about!”
He pressed enter.
The music climaxed.
Izuku sat back, chewing his gum with a satisfied smile, watching as username after username was banned from the stream. He laughed, leaning in. The more he laughed, the louder he got.
Leg0curry: AHH YESS TAKE CARE OF THESE FILTHY COMMONERS
Anniedrawerart: holy shit
Sailoose: there are so many!
He read some of the messages put out amidst the sea of grayed out names.
Izuku was getting downright manic, cackling in the face of his camera, nearly standing up every time he threw his head back. Pointing a finger towards the lense, he shouted, “GET FUCKED! FUCK YOU!”
Again, he pointed, “FUCK YOU, NEVER COME BACK, BITCH!”
Exaggerated anger played up for the camera surfaced. “ALL OF YOU! Every single last one of you! I never want to see you ever fucking again! On this Twitch stream!” He pointed to himself. “THIS IS FUCKING MINE!”
The music continued to play, hyping him up.
“AND THERE’S NO WAY ANY OF YOU ARE GOING TO COME IN HERE WITH THESE BULLSHIT ASS USERNAMES, AND TRY AND TAKE MY SHOW AWAY FROM ME!”
Izuku breathed deeply, settling himself back into his chair.
“This is tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, of people, by the way, in this whole fucking document. All gone.”
Izuku smiled again, watching the chat roll by. He snapped his fingers. “Like that.”
Finally, Izuku lowered the volume of the music.
“It feels almost freeing in a way, y’know? A lot of people were saying ‘Oh, this chat’s gonna be so bad! It’s gonna be such a bad chat. What are we gonna do? What are we gonna do, guys? Oh, this chat’s gonna be so cringe.’ Well not-” Izuku chuckled, “Let me tell you something, gentlemen, not anymore. Not anymore. Were you here? For the fucking purge?”
He watched more usernames get banned as he switched screens. He sighed, “I’m hard after that. That was amazing. My chat is clean now. For those that are new here, let me remind you all of the rules: We’re analysts here; not fans. Fuck heroes. Fuck Villains. They’re all pompess ass bitches who are begging the media for a scrap of the attention they think they deserve. Not here. This is my show, assholes.”
Izuku let himself calm down for a few seconds. “And that’s on business,” he said in Japanese.
“Now, let’s move on!”
“He’s a… Twitch streamer?” he drawled, somewhat incredulous.
“Apparently,” his boss gruffed. “Has a decent following, too, from the looks of it. He does a lot of different things, but every Saturday and Wednesday, he does a thorough analysis on different heroes and villains, sometimes vigilantes. Fighting style, Quirk, background, weaknesses, and strengths, past activity, all of it. I’ll admit, he’s helped in the capture of a few nasty villains, but the commission can’t have someone so neutral running around doxxing heroes' real names and addresses.”
“Can’t we just send a cease and desist?” Naomasa asked.
“We have. He did a whole stream reading the letter out loud and picking it apart sentence by sentence. Truth is, we can’t get him for anything illegal. He knows his rights, and technically, he never reveals anything that isn't already public knowledge or couldn’t be found out yourself.”
“What about the addresses?”
“Technically they're on public record, too. The only hero’s addresses he put out there were the ones that already had their addresses out there. The commission doesn’t care, though. They need this kid gone in a way that the public won’t notice. Scare him straight or something, I don’t care. Just do it in a way that doesn’t end up in a huge publicity scandal.”
Great.
This was exactly the kind of useless task his boss would hand to him on a Tuesday morning.
He could only hope this wouldn’t go catastrophically bad.
Knowing the internet, the hope wasn’t very high.
