The grand hall of the palace is filled with fire and blood, servants screaming and begging for their life. The whole palace is on fire not only that but it's also getting attack. The emperor, God’s Chosen One didn't hesitate to kill who's in his way. He knew who started this fire and who let the palace get attacked. It's none other than his loyal wife, well once loyal wife. Even until now, Kaiser couldn't believe that his wife, his most loyal companion betrayed him.
He pushed the big doors open in Ness' chamber. Ness stands in front of a beautiful balcony looking at Kaiser with eyes that is sore from crying. Kaiser walks towards Ness but was stopped when Ness pulled a sword and place the sharp object towards him.
"Don't come any closer." Ness said, her voice visibly horse. Kaiser clench his teeth at his wife audacity. He feels like Ness has changed, he's not blind he saw how her calm smile turns into a thin line, not even bothering to put an act. How his eyes used to shine whenever she see Kaiser lost it's shine.
He also know the reason why, It's because of 'her'. But he didn't understand how was she able to betray him like that. Because as far as the emperor know, Ness is far to devoted to Kaiser. So why would she? her of all people? Is 'she' that important to her that Ness didn't even think twice to betray him?
"Why did you do it?" Kaiser ask Ness. But it took Kaiser by surprise, the hatred on Ness' eyes. "why did you betray me like that, Ness!?" Kaiser demand. Ness lightly laugh and said:
"I'm tired."
A Tear slides down from Ness' eyes. "I'm tired of following you. I'm tired of you. You who I once adore. You who shattered me multiple times but this time... I don't think I can heal this time after what you did." Ness said as more tears started to spill. "I only stayed with you because she needs to have a complete family. But what did you do? you killed her." the fire slowly spreading in the chamber.
"For the last time Ness. It was an accident."
"An accident that can be stopped by you but you didn't! you let her die!" Ness shouts at Kaiser
"It's for the empire-"
"IT'S FOR YOUR SELF NOT THE EMPIRE STOP LYING!" Ness screamed which shock Kaiser because it's the first time that Ness screams at him. Ness is the type of person to not share what's on her mind. The type of person to suffer quietly. So her lashing out her anger to him makes him speechless. Even when 'she' died, Ness didn't say a word but it is obvious by her actions how much she's suffering.
Before Kaiser can question Ness more, the fire is slowly invading Ness' chamber and the soldiers attacking the palace reach her chamber. Kaiser draw his sword out ready to attack the soldiers and also protect Ness. "we're not done yet, Ness." Kaiser said. He heard a sword falling to the ground. "You are someone I had loved but never known." He heard Ness said those words.
When he turned around, he saw Ness standing at the edge of the balcony. Ness smiled at him, an empty smile before letting herself fall off the high place. Kaiser runs to save him but he didn't have enough time to reach her hands. He saw Ness' body on the ground her white robe, stained with her blood. When he turned around a soldier already stabbed him at the back.
"You dare to defy me?" Kaiser said laughing.
"You messed up from the beginning." Isagi said. Kaiser looks up and immediately realize what was happening. Kaiser laugh. "You planned this all along haven't you?" Kaiser ask to Isagi. "It's all your doing, that we're here at this moment " Isagi backfire. "Do you want me to list all the suffering you caused to Ness that makes her betray you?" the blade goes deeper every word that Isagi said.
"You cheated on Ness not once but many times. You disrespect her in public." he noticed the glint of sadness in Isagi's eyes. "she's your only Allie, what makes her snap is you taking her bundle of joy away from her." Kaiser knows that, he caused Ness a lot of suffering but he realized it when 'she' died. He tried and tried to bring the old Ness back but it was no use.
Ness painted many paintings of 'her'. He once heard her say "I must not forget your face.... I already forgot your voice... I'm so sorry that I had forgotten it..." and that day was the first time Kaiser see Ness cried. The following day Ness continues to ignore him. He tried and tried to get her back. But as the saying goes you'll only realize it's worth if you lost it, Michael Kaiser lost his beloved wife Alexis Ness when 'she' died.
"If I were given one more chance, I will destroy you once and for all!" Kaiser shouts.
The pain is unbearable, and before he knew it he was slowly closing his eyes. As if the Gods hasn't abandoned him yet, when he opens his eyes again, he found himself in his secret garden where It's full of blue roses and other flowers that match with them. It was the day when he first met his daughter, the culprit why his wife betrayed him.
A little girl with blond locks and blue eyes identical to his chased a butterfly and bumped into him. The little girl apologize but Kaiser is not really paying attention. It took him some time to realize that the Gods gives him a second chance. Kaiser looked at the little girl head to toe.
The girl has Blond hair and blue eyes identical to his but she has a soft eyes, chubby cheeks and plump lips. A perfect mix of gene he thinks. There is no need to clarify whether she's his daughter or not. By just looking at her eyes, he can already tell that she's his daughter. In the past, Kaiser slap her for bumping into him which angered Alexis. He didn't want to waste this chance so he just put a soft but nonchalant expression.
"Are you hurt?" It came out more cold than soft. He fucked up . He saw that his cold voice doesn't affect the girl. "I'm sorry..." the little girl said. "Stop apologizing, it makes you look weak." He snarl. The little girl didn't respond and lower her gazed a sign of showing respect to the emperor. "what is your name." Kaiser asked.
"Minerva. Minerva Kaiser"
'Ah so her name is Minerva.' Kaiser though. "Well then Minerva come with me." Kaiser said to her as he walks through his secret garden. Minerva follows him silently. He walk through the Garden with his daughter. She seems like she's judging Kaiser like how Kaiser judge her too.
They walk around the garden and Kaiser will occasionally tell Minerva about the different types of flowers they pass through and their meaning. Minerva will also tell a random facts about them. Kaiser is not surprise that a young girl like her already know many things, he takes after her mother and father after all. Before he knew it, the sky is already night that displays many beautiful stars. Minerva excuse herself politely, saying that her mom will be looking for her.
The thought of seeing the old Alexis that smiles at him brightly brings his heart joy. It has been a long time since he saw her smile. Not the empty smile she gave him when she jumped off the balcony. So he Michael Kaiser made a bold move. He offered that He himself will take her to her mother.
While walking many people look at their way with The emperor holding his daughters hand. They're walking towards the main hall where Kaiser knows that Ness will be entertaining sudden guest. His concubines will also be there. They walked through the big doors of the main hall and without a second thought, Minerva ran towards Ness. Seeing Minerva's smile makes Ness smile so brightly makes his heart clench.
Ofcourse, those people in the main hall looked at him with slight curiousty because he's not the type of person to spend time with their children. Some murmur to themselves that's been shut thanks to his sharp eyes. He walks closer to where Ness and Minerva is but when he tried to touch Ness, his wife suddenly flinched. She looked at him in shock but she quickly recover. Seeing Ness flinch at him makes something inside Kaiser boil, it makes him annoyed and angry but it also makes him sad.
