Legend was different from the other heroes, but not in just the personality or the fact that he's royalty. No, because of an entirely different reason.

His blindfold.

Chapter Text

I found out about my annoying power on my 5th birthday, which is when I promptly passed out when I entered the dining room due to everyone's thoughts forcing themself into my brain before I even know what was happening.

When I woke up and explained everything to the Royal doctor and mage, they told me I had the ability to read minds. Does it sound cool? Absolutely. But in practise, it's hell.

By simply seeing someone, I can hear their thoughts. No, not by looking directly at them. No, not by looking into their eyes. But by only seeing them, even from the corner of my eye or from a pretty large distance away.

It wasn't even just people's though I could hear. For some reason I could hear the thoughts of monsters, though I—thankfully?—don't understand them. Still, the idea that I'm fighting things that aren't just mindless killing machines is a bit...unnerving.

But towns are by far the worst. They've almost made me pass out multiple times due to the amount of people there. Having 1 stranger's thoughts in your head can be a bit distracting, sure. But 20? 50? I'm suprised I didn't go insane.

But in the middle of my first adventure, I noticed something.

I never hear anyone's thoughts when closing my eyes or when I can't see them...so what if I block my vision? At the time it seemed like a stupid idea—it still sounds like one—but I tried anyways.

It barely worked before I got Fi, since I'm not used to seeing nothing. I could barely even walk 2 steps without walking into something, even after I made a cane that was moments away from breaking and really wasn't the right height. It made combat practically impossible as well, and I had to give up and try to ignore the thoughts of the monsters and Knights as we fought.

But I tried again shortly after I got the Master Sword, and...

It worked! Well, it did technically work before, but now much better!!

Though Fi never spoke words, I could feel what she meant, especially when I was wearing the blindfold. Tree in front of me, cuckoo ready to attack me from behind, a potion on sale for 120 rupees.

So, I wore it more and more, especially when in town. Doesn't mean it was easy, though. I still used the poorly made cane to help keep my balance—and to make sure I didn't crash into the stuff Fi didn't warn me about—even if I still got a lot of injuries. It was pointless to even try in the dark world, leaving me with headaches all the time.

But I lived through it, doing the same in all but one of my adventures—the one I wish to forget the most—and now simply use it whenever outside.

At first, I used simple cloth I ripped off my tunic. But right before my adventure in Hytopia, Ravio—then annoying roommate, now still annoying husband—gave me a magic blindfold I could use.

It isn't as good as my normal sight, but it allowed me to see colours and—if I'm lucky—the general shape on an object, but still never let me read minds. I will not admit at how happy I was when I got it, though I will say that it made that adventure easier.

But now that I'm seemingly in a new adventure—only having 1 hour to pack and say goodbye to Ravio before the strange portal pulled me in—and wandering about an unknown forest, I don't have time to think about my emotions or anything important.

I've already taken my blindfold off, as there's no living creatures nearby. No need to make it any harder for myself, after all. I sigh, and Fi makes a small sound as if to cheer me up.

I send her a small smile, but it dissapears immideatly as I hear footsteps. I take my blindfold on yet again, making it harder to see where I can walk as everything is green. Why did I keep my cane in my bag again? I would like to feel where any hidden rocks or roots are before I fall on my face, but then I would have a clear weakness they could strike...

I take Fi out of her sheath, ready to battle in case it's someone up to no good. Though she feels reluctant, somehow.

"Who's there?", I say, using my right hand to help navigate through the trees, as it's hard to see where the openings are with only colour.

"Me.", says the unhelping voice, and I point the master sword towards where I heard them, but she...burns me?

I accidently drop her as she does, and I silently curse as I quick grab her again, not wanting to be defenseless for any longer than necessary.

"Just saying me doesn't help, dipshit. Reveal yourself.", I say angrily, and I glare at the person as they enter my line of sight, even if they can't see me do it.

They seem to be short, and I can only guess the yellow is their hair. At least their outfit is more turquoise than green, so I can actually see them.

"Your name is Link, right?", he asks, and I take a step back, thankfully not going into a tree. How does he know me? Did my stories already spread to wherever we are?

"My name's Link too! Are you a hero as well?", he asks, and I look at him confused. Is he saying that he's a hero? Ah, maybe I'm in a parallel world like Lorule. But why would there be another parralel world?

But he could easily be lying, and he likely is. Well, he does look and sound like a kid, maybe it's for a game? Either way, it's too late to kick him away.

"Hey, hero. Do you know where the nearest town is?", I ask, and I can feel how happy he is at me calling a hero, but he quickly deflates.

"...No. I honestly have no idea where I am, so I went to you since I thought you would know.", he says, and I sigh. So I'm stuck with a lost play believe hero kid, great.

I think for a moment before asking him another question, "Do you know anyone else that might know the way?"

He's quiet for a moment before answering, "Nope, but I could lead you to my friends, who are also heroes!!", so I'm not just stuck with one kid playing, but at least 2 more? Oh for fuck's sake...

But we continue on, as at worst he's leading me to a bandit camp, which are rarely much of a fight once I show my strength.

The little hero walks happily, humming to himself as he leads me through the woods. The song seems strangely familiar, but I can't quite place it.

"Why do you wear a blindfold?", he asks, and I slightly frown. There's no chance I'll say the truth, of course, but what excuse should I give this time?

"No need to say if it's personal, though! We heroes have made a rule that we can't pry or force anyone to say anything personal.", he says, and I hum. At least the kid has some good friends...though the implication of why they had to make such a rule isn't the best.

We continue walking through the forest, and I let him take the lead. Not like I could help much in a forest I don't recognize anyway. Sadly, the small moment of silence is broken as he starts talking again.

"So, when I was a hero, I was a pirate over the Great Sea! I searched for treasure whilst trying to save the world, and it was really fun...Though there were a lot of not fun parts as well.", he says, and I'm a bit suprised. Usually kids only know of the good and fun parts of the stories, but he could just be eating that to sound less fake.

...There's also the chance that he actually is a hero. Considering I went on my first journey when I was 9, it wouldn't be too weird—only a bit tragic—that he also started young. Why does Hylia always make kids fight for her instead of adults?

"I got hurt a lot during my adventure, and people I care about got hurt too. I even almost lost my leg!", he says, sounding weirdly proud. I can understand being proud of your journey, but being proud of almost losing your leg?

"Ah, we're here!", he says, stopping his ramblings as I instantly turn more on edge, my hand ready to grab Fi incase I was right in him leading me to bandits.

"Who's he, Wind?", someone asks, and I look over to where the voice came from to see someone with blond hair and...something blue. Is it a scarf? A cape?

"A Link! Well, unless he's lying. But he has some kind of magic sword and a tri-force mark, so likely not!", the little hero—named Wind appearently. Did he say his name was Link?—says happily.

"Who are they?", I ask, glaring at them even through my blindfold at the few I can see. I swear if someone is hiding behind me...

"Other heroes! There's 8 of us—not counting you—and since we're all named Link, we call each other by a nickname!", Wind says. I want to take off my blindfold to see if he's lying, but that would look too suspicous. I don't want to explain my powers yet either.

"Why's your wind, then? You use wind magic?", I ask. Since I've used magic items so much, I'm quite good at spotting the different elements. I can feel how the wind feels differently around him, almost as if protecting him.

Actually, there's a lot of magic floating around all of them. Most of them aren't anything to worry about, but one of them has some strong dark magic, which is a red flag if I've ever seen one. I know not all dark magic is bad, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

"Kinda, but our names come from our hero titles!", he says proudly. I've never heard about a hero of the wind, but since I'm guessing this has time travel involved, I'm not suprised.

The other heroes all introduce themselves, though I recognize none of their names. I know I'm not the first hero, so unless everyone is after me—I will punch Hylia if that's true—I guess that we simply lost their titles over time.

"Do you know what your title is?", a blond man with a deep voice says, and I guess that it's Time. They did say he was old, after all.

"I've been called a lot of things, so I don't really know.", I confess. I've had a few too many adventures to just take one from them, and half of them sound stupid anyways.

"Maybe Fi knows? She was the one who told most of us our hero titles.", one of the heroes says, and I hold in the gap at the mention of Fi. Two fi's can exist at once? Well, there's currently 9 Link's here, so it really shouldn't be suprising that there's 2 Fi's.

The man steps closer, and It's already easier to tell him apart from the grass. I could always see him since he has something red seemingly around stomach and a white cape, but if he took them off he would easily blend in with the grass.

He—Sky, I believe his name was—hands me his own Master Sword, which feels the same as my own—except for two extra 'wings' right under where the blade appears, and I can tell it looks closer to how it looked when I originally got it. Why does making it stronger make it orange?

He takes her back, and before I can ask exactly how she would tell them my title—I didn't even hear her let out out a small jingle sound like she usually does!—he begins to talk.

"Hero of Legends, huh...Well, honestly cooler than most of the names here. Wild had started on dinner before you came, so it's likely done now. Want some?"

Eating without being able to see well still feels weird. I usually take it off, as I rarely eat with more than 1 other person around. And even where there's more, I can usually hide in a corner so I don't have to look at them.

But not today. There is no chance I am turning my back against a group of armed heroes when I met them only a few minutes ago. Yeah, they're heroes, but no one can stop me from not taking down my guard.

I have my Fi lays against the side of my leg so she can still talk to me. It's thankfully only some—quite delicious—cuckoo meat, so it's not hard to actually get a grip on.

I made sure to know that the others have eaten before I try it myself, just in case.

"How many adventures have you gone on?", the colorful hero asks, and I only nod, not wanting to speak with my mouth full. Whenever I do, I can feel Zelda yelling at me from the back of my mind, so I don't bother.

"Depends.", I answer. Do I count Koholint? It'll make me look cooler if I say that Labrynna and Holodrumm as seperate but they were quite closely related...

"At least 5.", I say, and though I can't read their expression, some of their gasps are easily heard.

"5?! How do you even have the time to be on all those?!", Wind asks, going all up in my face. I push him off me, making sure to not drop the plate.

"Not important.", I answer. It's clear he pouts, and I can't help but let out a small chuckle.

They all continue to talk, and I mostly ignore them. Four and Wind still sit besides me, and though I know the others are close by, they're hard to see. Why do us heroes always wear green?

"Legend?", someone infront of me asks, and I look at them with a raised brow. Why do they have to go right infront of me to talk?

"We were just talking about our watches for the night. I know you don't trust us yet, so do you want to have a watch tonight with another?", he—Time, I now realize—asks, and I nod. I'm suprised they trust me with watch, even if I'm alone.

"Great. You'll be with Wild tonight, unless you have someone else you want instead?", he asks, and I shake my head. Wild was the cook, right? Haven't really talked with him much yet...

They all get ready for bed, and I roll out my bedroll for later. When they've all finally gone to bed, me and Wild sit together on a stone, silent.

Neither of us try to talk as the night goes on. Why would we? There's a high change we'll wake some of them up if we try anyways.

After a small while, I can hear him moving. I slowly put my left hand on my sword, even if she complains. I'm not going to hurt him—unless he tries to hurt me, of course—but he's the one that can actually see any monsters if they're close by, and I need to be prepared.

"I'm going on patrol, I'll be back for a moment.", he says before walking off, leaving me...alone? Wait, he's leaving me alone with the group?!

I wait until I'm sure he's away before taking off my blindfold, it now laying on my forehead. I let out a small groan, already regretting it. Why can I see dreams too?

I put it on again, my headache dissapearing. My guilt doesn't, though. I did not want to know what they dream about, and I am not prepared for when they learn of my ability to do that.

I hold onto Fi harder as I sigh. Can't Wild come back soon? I'm not used to having watch with a blindfold on. I could simply turn around, but they're laying all over the place so it would practically impossible not to see them.

Fi describes my surroundings as I look at nothing in particular. We're still in a forest—duh—and in a small clearing surrounded by trees. Some of the heroes sleep together and others apart, but all seem to be asleep for now.

I manage to find my bag, taking out my magical cane. It does much of the same as Fi, but worse. I got it quite recently, Ravio having commisioned it before I left for this adventure.

I like it. A lot. Of course, it's wonderful in towns. I can't hold onto Fi the whole time—now only needing her when I wish to read—and this actually fits my height. I can even easily adjust it!...And I also really like the little bunny ears on the top, since it reminds me of when we met and I had to rent from him.

"Boo.", Wild says from behind me, and I almost attack him with my cane. The only reason I stopped is because Fi starting yelling at me, and because I can't really hurt people with my cane anyways...Though there is a hidden knive in it just in case.

"Sorry, I was distracted.", I say, turning over to look at him. I can't read his expression, so let's hope that he's not angry that I left them defensless for a small while. How long was he gone for?

"It's fine. I didn't really leave camp, anyways. Just went a bit out so you couldn't see--err, sense me?", he says. Honestly, should have expected that.

"Also, what's that thingy?", he says, poking my cane. I take it away from him, turning it small. He lets out a small hum as I do so, seemingly intruiged.

"A cane so I don't fall on my face and die.", I say, rolling my eyes even though he can't see them. He lets out a small chuckle, and a small part of him starts to...glow?

"You can see light through it?", he asks, and I nod.

"Don't worry, I'm just taking off my arm.", he says way too casually.

"...What?"

"Ganondorf ate it.", he answers, and I have no idea how to respond to it. He...ate it? I shake my head, trying to not think about it.

We stay quiet for a small while, looking over the others. I wonder how often they have nightmares? When I accidently looked earlier, I didn't see any, but...We're all heroes, so we must all have them because of all the shit we've seen. I don't have as many now, but I could barely sleep right after my adventures.

Especially after the third one, where it wasn't just the nightmares that haunted me, but dreams too.

"Hey, we need to wake Four up. It's already his turn turn for watch, somehow.", Wild says, and I leave him to it. Four was the colorful one, right? I can't really see him now though.

...I also forgot that I can't see my bedroll, but at least my cane helps with that.

It's the next morning, and I didn't get any sleep. Not suprising, but at least they can't notice it since my eyes are covered...Ugh, I'm gonna have such annoying marks when I finally take it off again.

"Morning, Legend. Sleep well?", one of the heroes ask as I get up from the bedroll, but I can't tell who. Wild doesn't sound like that, he isn't surrounded by dark magic like the other hero, but instead by fae magic. It's practically identical to a great fairy, actually.

I continue to stand there, only giving the guy a nod as I try to find a place to sit. I decide to sit down besides him, Fi chiming in to say that I'm sitting besides the Hero of Hyrule.

I look over at him. He has brown hair and seems to be wearing green, but has no other special features I can see right now.

"...Do you need something?", he asks, and I look away. I can feel my cheeks turning slightly red as I realised that I was staring at him.

Thankfully, the hero only laughs, and I can hear some of the others chuckling. I look over at where I think Wild is, and try my best not to frown. I don't like that I can't make the food, but I would likely burn it if I tried, even if I don't really trust Wild enough to make it.

If we're able to use a kitchen one day, I'm definetly going to try to bake something. I sometimes make apple pie from what we grew from the orchard, but I could try something else if we don't have any good ingredients.

But after a bit of waiting, our food is finished. Again, I eat with them since it's still too easy for them to (literally) stab me in the back if I turn around and eat.

It seems we have leftovers from yesterday, and I hear Wild muttering something about needing to hunt again. Considering his name, I'm not suprised that he does that.

Still, at least it's not soup. Soup is way too easy to spill when you can barely see it.

"Oh yeah, I forgot to ask. Legend, are you allergic to anything? Or just have some things you really, really don't like to it.", Wild asks. As if I would actually say if I had allergies so early on. Do they think I have a death wish?

"No allergies, but I hate rabbit and bird meat—outside of cuckoos, of course.", I answer, handing him the wooden plate I was using.

"Will keep that in mind!", he says, and leaves to talk to the others. It seems he put on his arm again this morning, but I never noticed. Eh, it isn't important so long as he can't kill me with it.

...Which means it is important because he would definetly throw it at me if I annoyed him.

Shortly after we finish eating, we pack up the small camp. I don't have much—nor do the others—to pack up, so before we go, we have a small meeting.

"50 rupees a portal appears in the next 2 minutes.", Wind says, and I can practically hear his grin. Time only sighs, but doesn't scold him.

"I bet 100.", I say, leaning on my cane. It's not like it's my money I'm betting, as I simply took Ravio's since I never get any money from adventuring anymore. Or at the very least, very little.

"We were just portalled out here yesterday, do you really think that--?"

And the portal appears.

"...I take that back.", Warriors sighs. I hold in the urge to poke him with my cane. Maybe another day...

"We got everything?", Sky asks, and the other heroes lets out various sounds of agreement, and it isn't long before we step into the portal.

"Everyone here?", Warriors calls out. I sigh, pressing my cane to the hard ground and letting it explain my surroundings.

It seems we're by a town by what the cane is describing. So long as it's not full of knights, I'll be fine.

"We're in my era. Everyone good with going to the castle? I don't know how long we'll have to wait, but it shouldn't be too long once she knows it's me.", Warriors says. Great, a place full of knights. Lucky me!

Since no one was actively bleeding to death, we march on into Castle Town. Well, I do think it is Castle Town. Where else would the castle be? In Kakariko?

"Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we've given all our Zelda's nicknames to tell them apart. My era's Zelda is called Artemis.", Warriors says, and I let out a small hum, hoping he was talking to me.

I have my cane infront of me as I walk, sliding it from side to side. Not walking into someone or something 100 times just because I can't easily see what's infront of me is great. Just seeing some colours doesn't help with everything, after all.

Sadly, it's not long before we reach the city. I immideatly get a headache, both because of the noise and all the stuff the cane is telling me about. At least it's better than all the details Fi usually tells me...

I make my cane small and put it in my bag, hoping that I don't go into a wall or someone. Both are emberassing enough, but it'll be worse as the heroes will definetly bully me if I do.

I follow the other heroes the best I can, even if it's hard in the crowd. It's easiest to see Warriors because of all the blue, but towns at least make it quite easy to see the others as well, as there's no green coloured stuff.

After what feels like years of walking, we stop. Are we finally at the Hylia damned castle? Everything infront of me—outside of what is likely the others—is gray. Why can't castles be fun colours like purple and yellow?

"We're here. Now let's just hope the knights don't make a fuss at all of you being here.", Warriors says. Does he not like the knights as well? I know that most are assholes, but I wonder why he specifically dislikes them.

"If they do, I'll just remind them of my title of Captain and they'll hurry off anyways."...Wow, I was really wrong about him disliking them. Ugh, how many knights even are there in this little group?

We enter the castle, and I take out my cane again. I've been in my era's castle a lot, even if I dislike it. Sadly, I'm still a prince and have certain duties and obligations. And though it's boring, I at least get to visit my sister, occasionally being able to meet with Hilda as well.

The other heroes are talking around me, but I ignore them, instead focusing on my cane. It seems the castle is partially damaged, which I didn't expect. Our castle had damages, but not as much as this one seems to have.

It must not have been long since Warriors' journey, then. I'm still going to bully him, but I need to make sure to stay clear of those topics. Would he care if I teased him for being a knight?

"I'll see if she's busy right now. If not, I'll ask if we can get some rooms and we can meet again later.", he says, and leaves us alone. Ugh, I can feel the look the guards are giving me. Haven't they learnt any manners?

"Earth to Legend?", someone asks, and I look besides me to feel the man with the large amount of dark magic.

"What?", I ask. I know I didn't space out, but since they can't really see my eyes, they seemingly can't tell...Or did I space out? Hylia, I'm already getting too comfortable around them.

"Warriors has finished talking with Artemis already.", I look at Twilight confused. The cane doesn't pick up on his presense, and I can't feel his magic either.

"Oh, he's not with us yet. I can just hear that they've finished talking from here.", people with dark magic are weird, I decide. Hylia, why couldn't I have this good hearing? Well, I used to, but it got partially ruined after all my adventures.

I wonder why he uses dark magic. It's usually associated with evil people, but I'm not one to stereotype like that. Now that I think about it, the little colourful guy has it as well, even if well hidden.

Eh, it isn't my problem to grumble about right now. I'd rather do it when I'm about to sleep than in the middle of the hall where a knight can sneak up on me.

Thankfully, we don't have to stay in the hall any longer as we get escourted to Artemis by a knight. I definetly do not glare at him through the blindfold.

"Welcome, heroes. Link has already filled me in a bit about your adventure, but it's nice to meet you all in person as well.", Artemis says. Ugh, it's weird how her voice sounds so alike to my Zelda.

"I'm guessing Warriors—uh, what we call your Link—has already asked, but has there been any unusual monster activity? Specifically monsters with black blood.", Time asks. Monsters with black blood? Now that I think about it, I had defeated some bokoblins whilst out on a walk and they had black blood.

"Yes. We've gotten reports from the nearby village of strangely strong monsters recently, and after they defeated one it seemed to have black blood. We sent out some soldiers to go check it out, but haven't gotten a response yet.", she answers. Let's hope she sent some of the actual competent ones...

"I see. We'll see if we can go and visit the village tommorow, then."

Time and Artemis continue to talk, some of the others chiming in as well, but I don't bother. I just joined the group last night, so I don't have much to add. Though I do actually listen to what they say, since it's just as new to me as it it to Artemis.

"Thanks for the information. Now, I just have a quick question. May I please get your names? I recognize some of you from the war and from Link's—excuse me, Warriors'—descriptions in his letters, but not all of you.", the war? There was a war that involved time travel and I somehow wasn't invited?

Honestly, I won't complain. One less adventure to have nightmares about, I guess...Wait, now that I think about it, wasn't Ravio suddenly portalled away and brought to a war?

"Was that the fucking war Ravio was sent to?", I ask out loud, seemingly starting the queen. Is she a queen or still a Princess?

"Yes. Are you the 'Mr. Hero' he talked so highly about?", she asks, and I sigh but nod. Hylia, please don't say he said something emberassing about me.

"Don't worry, they don't need to know what he said said about you. Now, please do give me your names.", she says, and I am already slightly afraid of her. All Zelda's are scary, but I've only been at the other end of her serious tone few times.

"They call me Legend.", I answer, and they all go around and introduce themself—outside of Warriors, of course. But we finally get let go, and it's thankfully only Warriors who take us to our rooms.

"I technically have my own room, but Time and Wind will share with me. We have 3 spare rooms, so you 6 can either share a room with one other person or two.", Warriors says. I would rather be alone, but if I had a choice...

"Dibs for Sky and Four! I would rather not have to sleep through Twilight's snores.", Wild says. Will I even be able to sleep if he snores that loud? Let's hope that Hyrule doesn't snore as well...

It isn't long before we go to our rooms, changing into more casual clothes—though I still make sure to keep all the hidden daggers—and I sadly get roped into a conversation.

"So, what can ya even see with that? Nothin' or?", Twilight asks. I already said the truth to Wild, so I'd rather not worry about the trouble it would cause if he found out I lied.

"I can see some colours, but not much more. If I could see more I wouldn't be using this.", I say, showing off my cane. Though I still find it emberassing that it's fully pink—outside of Ravio's small bunny ears at the top—at least it's easy to spot when going through my bag...Though I rarely leave it there anyways.

"Why do you wear it, then? If you have bad eyesight, wouldn't just wearing glasses be better?", the other hero—Hyrule—says, and I sigh.

"Reasons you don't need to know.", I say, and Hyrule gives me a small apology. At least he's polite about it, which is better than most people. I still have trauma from that one time the knight ripped it off me.

"How does that cane work, by the way? I can tell it's magic, but...", Hyrule asks. I shrug, sadly not knowing much about it.

"I think it uses earth magic, but don't know more about it. It tells me about the area around me looks, but if I want details I just use my sword, since she can give more details and can read signs.", I answer.

"Your sword?", Hyrule asks, intrigued. It feels weird to share this, as I've rarely met any that actually care enough about it to learn anything. But it's unlikely this'll affect me negatively unless they steal or hurt her.

"Yeah. She's a stronger version of the Master Sword, and she's been by my side since my first adventure...Well, I have returned her multiple times, but Ganon kept coming back for no fucking reason so at this point I'm just keeping her.", I say, showing her off but not letting either of them touch her.

"So this means we have 3 master sword, then? Wild also has one, but rarely used her.", Twilight says.

"Why won't he use her? She's my strongest sword, and I don't think there's many stronger than her.", I say. The only times I've not used her was in Koholint—where she didn't exist—and when I was in Labrynna and Holodrumm, as I couldn't go back to Hyrule to get her.

"He's afraid that he'll break her.", Twilight responds way too casually.

"...Break? How the fuck can you break her?!", I ask. The only was I can imagine even hurting her is if I throw her at a hard rock wall and then make her go up in flames. Even still, she'll somehow survive!

"You don't want to know.", I do want to know Twilight, that's why I asked!

"Is she that impressive? She looks just like a normal sword to me.", Hyrule says. The master sword being called a normal sword?

"Of course she is! She was made to help us heroes, so she should be stronger than any normal sword.", I respond. Hyrule goes quiet for a moment before talking.

"...I never used it on my adventures, so I didn't expect it to be so strong.", he responds. A hero that hasn't used the Master Sword? That's...suprising.

"Oh...sorry.", I don't like apologizing, but I know when to step down, especially when I'm not in the mood to fight. Not being able to read body language has forced me to get good at learning tone and actually understanding what people are implying when talking.

They both seem a bit suprised that I simply stopped, but I honestly don't care that much. Yeah, she's way more than just a sword, but I can't fully blame the kid.

"Also, we're going into town soon to pick up some potions and the like. Do you want to join us?", Twilight asks, clearly trying to steer away the conversation. Though I don't like being in towns due to it easily becoming overstimulating—though the ones in my era is less populated than this one, so it's definetly going to be worse—it's way better than being stuck in a castle with Knights I don't know.

"Sure, not like I have anything better to do.", I say. Can the cane be turned off or do I still have my old one in my bag? I wonder what's worst: Everyone's thoughts in my brain, the cane, or Fi explaining everything around me in detail all the time.

Most of the time, it's nice. Knowing where stuff and people are is very useful when not being able to see clearly. But when there's signs, much more noticeable stuff than just in forests, and many, many people moving around me...it gets a bit much. Even being with just the other heroes git a bit much when getting here. Maybe I can ask for a weaker version?

Either way, it's not long until we leave for the town, and I make sure to hold Fi close, just in case.

Notes:

The "Fi telling where things are" idea came from Tashacee's Aspect series! Idk if they wrote it before that, but that's what I remember lol

If you ever feel the chars are out of character, that's probs because I wrote most of this like...a year ago. Next chapter (whenever that comes) is going to be written all by present me outside of a part of the first scene!
