The lines carved in his skin

Summary:

Raven was very subtle about her small fascination with Damian's scars.

So subtle that everyone with eyes and without them would notice her not so small obsession.

(P.S. English is not my first language, so I apologize for any mistakes,

this work contains sexual content, though mild)

day 10; scars

Notes:

Not sure how many of you will read the fic for tomorrow as it's an au and I know not everybody likes them, so gonna ask here. Please comment which day was your favorite so far. I'm really curious if your opinions align with mine.

And please tell if you generally enjoyed the fics. I'm not used to writing so much in such a short amount of time, so I want to know how I did.

Anyway, enjoy!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Raven liked to think she was subtle. She skillfully kept her feelings, opinions and problems to herself, only giving access to them to people she wanted to know about them. However, there was one thing she knew she was hiding absolutely terribly. So terribly that anyone who spent even the smallest amount of time with her noticed.

She had a strange fascination with Damian's scars.

She wasn't sure where it came from, but when she saw Damian naked for the first time, she almost fainted from the excess of excitement and arousal. Maybe it was about Damian hiding his scars as much as possible most of the time. His costume covered almost his entire body, and even in civilian clothes and in the middle of summer, her partner wore long pants and sleeves. This made Raven find everything he hid from the world to be something intimate, strangely forbidden and exciting. It was as if his scars were something hidden just for her.

This impression, however, did not change the fact that Raven loved to emphasize her access to them. Her hands often found their way under Damian's turtleneck to rub her fingers over the scars that ran across his muscular stomach. She was always careful not to reveal them to the rest of the team, but each of their friends knew very well what her fingers were touching.

Damian, of course, wasn't unaware of her obsession. No matter how oblivious he was, it was hard not to notice how often Raven touched the lines carved in his skin.

He had a strange relationship with her… fascination.

Damian disliked his scars quite a lot. In fact, that was why he hid them so much. Not only were they unsightly, but they reminded him of every time he had failed, of every time his training had not been sufficient. They were a horrific reminder of his mortality.

He wasn't often afraid, but before his relationship with Raven became more intimate, he was terrified that his scars and everything they symbolized would make her reject him. However, her reaction was so different that Damian couldn't get over the shock for the next few days.

Raven’s hands barely left his body. Her tongue followed the trail of thin and thick lines covering his chest and stomach. It circled around the diagonally cut nipple and admired the work of so many blades, bullets and flames.

Damian trembled as he watched his girlfriend, unscathed by even a single small scar, devour the sight of the ones that decorated his body and tremble with excitement as she kissed his scarred thighs and took his cock into her mouth. She wasn't disgusted, she was actually delighted.

Damian wondered if she was faking it as her lips and tongue drove him to the kind of ecstasy that took away the strength in his legs. She certainly didn't want to offend him, or worse, make him never undress in front of her again.

He was brought out of his thoughts by a short statement.

“You’re beautiful.”

Raven said it so sincerely, her words filled with pure adoration, that Damian could feel tears welling up in his eyes. He swallowed them quickly. He wanted to look away, but he couldn't. He could only look into Raven's eyes, trembling under the power of her gentle hands.

He could feel a crimson blush slowly coloring his face.

“I don’t think so.” he just stated, and then knelt down to be at her height. Raven seemed hurt by his words. She looked down at her perfectly smooth hands and clenched them.

“Why?” she asked, still not looking up.

Damian bit his lip. He felt a wave of fear wash over him again that he would somehow change her opinion of him. Raven was blind to most of his flaws, but how could he know if he added one more that it wouldn't tip the scales?

“I just... I don't think it's true.” he said, then quickly corrected himself. “I mean, I guess I could be considered… beautiful if it weren't for…”

It was strange how in the most important situations he suddenly began to run out of words. The intimacy of the situation overwhelmed him. He wasn't used to being so vulnerable. He wasn't used to talking about his insecurities without disregarding anyone who dared to bring them to light. However, he couldn't and didn't want to do so with Raven.

“If it weren’t for the scars.” Raven finished for him.

Damian nodded.

Raven raised her eyebrows and smiled, slightly amused.

“Damian Wayne, you truly don’t know what’s hot about you.” she stated and placed a quick kiss on his lips before taking his hands and standing up. “If I'm not mistaken, we have some things to finish.”

Damian looked at her, surprised that she still wanted to sleep with him after he had shown her such weakness. But he wasn't going to argue.

He quickly stood up and took her in his arms. Their lips found each other quickly, just as quickly as Raven's fingers found the long scar on Damian's back. The man shuddered slightly. Not from pain, but from surprise.

“Are you sure you don’t mind?” he asked, placing his own hands on Raven's shapely ass.

The woman smiled dreamily.

“I'm sure. I don't know why I would be bothered by something that takes my boyfriend from being hot as the sun to hot as a quasar.”

Damian snorted in amusement and leaned in to kiss her again. Her words didn't mean that his life long complex was gone, of course, but maybe it wasn't that bad if Raven liked it so much?

Notes:

Did I just write the same fic three times? Possibly, but it has some differences so let's say it's fine. I just think it's really in brand for Damian to be insecure about something in himself and being surprised that it's something Raven loves in him. Or I'm just projecting onto those short one shots cuz I still hadn't wrriten this one multichapter that has been sitting in my head for months and focuses on his insecurity more.

Also Idk what I was on while writing it that some sentences sound so awkward. Sorry if the quality of this one is not the best.

Hope you liked it and we'll see each other in the next one!
