Life moves on quickly for those with a set motion, a chosen path.
That's how life is for Teo, each year repeats the same thing over and over again with only a few said words that make a single hour go by differently. Though, life is a strange word for someone like him.
Teo died 3 years ago. A motorcycle accident on a foggy day, all caught on camera as it had been filmed for his movie. A movie that was scrapped as the crew was too saddened by the sudden loss to continue without their young director.
Yet, Teo's mind continued to create its own story; He was a story creator after all. His brain told him the accident was not serious, leaving him with a broken leg. His brain told him he falls in love with a girl he meets through a mystery app. His brain told him she was the one.
But, after 200 days, she is gone. And Teo is back on the hospital bed, with a broken leg. And then a new girl appears on the app.
This is the path chosen for him in the after-life. He meets a new girl each time, one with different personalities, different names, schedules, etc. Yet, they all end up falling in love with him. No matter what planet his soul has been placed on, their love becomes deep.
But, after 200 days, she'll move on. Her world is still moving, changing around and keeping her busy. To her, Teo's affection was nothing more than kind words, it's not like they can meet. Teo tries not to get attached, knowing that he was nothing in the lives of these women despite them being his everything.
But, after 200 days, he has to move on. So he does.
Teo had assumed it would be no different when he opened his eyes In August of 2022, to yet another beginning of the cycle. The same leg broken, his phone in his hand and Piu-piu chirping to signal his very first message from the app. Teo opens the app and is met with yet another girl. This time his soul is on planet Vanas, but what secrets can he hold after all this time? The repetition of these days have made him a shell of his former self. If he had hidden truths, he would not know them.
His first message is the same as the past few times, he expresses shock and relief at seeing someone else in the app, though, in reality his face is stoic, bored.
That is, until the girl gave an odd replay.
"Are you real?"
Why wouldn't he be? Sure, he was a ghost but he still held the same memories and fragments of a personality that his living-self had.
"Of course I am lol. Are you real?"
"Sure sure. Last time I checked." She replied.
"I'm surprised to see another face here, I thought the app was broken. "
"lol I guess that's what happens when a game is in-progress for years."
"Game?" This is the first time a girl has referred to the app as a game.
"It’s nothing Teo lol"
Teo nibbles on his lip and shakes his head. Forgetting about the odd sentence knowing that it would not change his 200 day schedule. He continues with his own process, asking her questions, telling her about what he's going to do, etc, etc.
But then she does it again. Teo is talking about how he been hoping to leave the hospital later that week to which she replies with, "That's too long, we should just fall in love now and skip stuff"
Teo stares at the sentence in confusion. Fall in love? How does SHE know that's going to happen? Minutes pass by as Teo continues to stare at his phone, not knowing how to reply to something like that. So he types something small and simple,
"How do you know?"
"Piu-piu said this is also a dating sim. Lol maybe this A.I is broken. How boring."
Before Teo could respond, the girl logs out.
And no matter how many messages Teo sends, she doesn't log back in for the next few days.
