“Oh, what do we have here?”
“Piss off, angel.”
“Seems to me you need help.”
Seungcheol lifted his gaze and glared at the angel smirking at him. “I don’t have time for you and your sick games, Joshua.”
“No games, Seungcheol,” yet Joshua’s smile was full of mischief. “You’re wounded.”
“I’m fine.” A stupid demon turf brawl, one Seungcheol had only barely won and he had been left with bruises all over him and a bleeding nose.
“I could heal it.”
“And owe you a favour? Not again, angel. Never again.”
Joshua just hummed, kneeling down to where Seungcheol was sitting on the ground. “Oh, sweet demon, am I that untrustworthy?” He cupped Seungcheol’s face with one of his big hands, thumb swiping over a gash on the lip. Seungcheol winced in pain while delight swept through Joshua’s deceptively kind eyes.
“Last time I owed you a favour you murdered an angel and framed it on me.”
“And it got you so much respect from your peers, did it not?”
“Sure, but it also painted a giant target on my back,” Seungcheol winced again as the angel pressed his thumb hard against the wound on his lip. “So no, I refuse to owe you a favour.”
“See this as a gift then, no strings attached,” Joshua leaned in with a promise.
“Fine.”
Seungcheol knew it was unnecessary, had seen others angels heal with a simple touch, but Joshua’s method was pleasant.
A kiss.
Warm and tingling with magic, the softest lips pressing against Seungcheol’s.
A taste of heaven.
“There you go,” Joshua purred. “All pretty again.”
“You know, angel, next time you want a kiss you don’t have to send a demon after me and get me beat up.” Seungcheol pushed the angel away. “Just ask me.”
“And where would the fun be in that?” Joshua grinned and expanded his big wings fully. “See you again soon, my sweet demon.”
“I hope not,” Seungcheol grumbled, but the angel had already taken off and disappeared into the heights.
Being the object of obsession to a half crazed angel meant Seungcheol never had a dull day in his life.
Something he appreciated despite his reluctance in front of the angel; after all, demons are known to lie.
And when Joshua inevitably Fall due to his many crimes, Seungcheol will be there to catch him.
