You Can't Run Away

Summary:

Every year an annual Mating Hunt is held for Mandalorian alphas and omegas. Din Djarin has become somewhat of a celebrity who has completed six runs humiliating alphas and walking away unmated. Boba Fett is an alpha in love who has tried twice and failed. Well...third time is the charm. Boba was going to finally catch Din and make him his.

Work Text:

All the alphas and omegas were dressed to impress for the ball that preceded the annual mating run held every year on a planet called Cypreena. Over the last decade it had started to turn into a haven for Mandalorians, and it was specifically neutral ground. No clan or sect wars were allowed, though there were plenty of tournaments like this one held to try and minimize the desire for fighting. Alphas still wore their chest plates, but they were adorned in decorations they’d earned on the battlefield or simply put on to be flashy. Torn and tattered capes were replaced with expensive fabrics that shined and glistened beneath the lights. Most omegas also wore their chest plates, but they were decorated in other ways. Many wore flowing dresses or skirts beneath them and armor was adorned in ribbons doused in their scent that would sometimes be offered up to alphas they’d like to make chase during the run.

Boba impatiently sipped from his drink as he watched the alphas and omegas mingle. There was only one omega he wanted, and they had yet to make an entrance. Three years. Three mating runs. That’s how long Boba had been chasing Din Djarin. They had actually met almost four years ago on a hunt, chasing after the same bounty. Boba had never thought he’d ever mate until that day. He was well into his thirties, far past mating prime. Most who entered the tournament were younger. Din had been rather cold, and would probably be a turn off to most, but Boba had simply found it mysterious and attractive. That coupled with the fact the omega could fight. Really kriffing fight.

They continued to occasionally run into each other, and when the next mating run was announced and Boba saw Din’s name on the list of entries, he signed up immediately. He quickly found, however, that Din didn’t seem to actually be interested in mating anyone. The run was a game to him. Boba was far from the only one Din had seemed to ensnare. Many alphas had joined just for a chance to catch him. Boba’s first tournament was Din’s fifth. Fifth. Five tournaments and no one had caught him. This would be Din’s seventh, now, and the list of alphas fighting for him had only grown.

“Didn’t think you’d enter this year after what happened last year,” Cobb smirked at him as he joined him in the corner.

Last year, Boba had been feet away from catching Din. His fingertips had once brushed against the omega’s skin, but he’d been so blinded by how close he was he failed to see the trap Din had led him straight into. Hunts were televised on the holonetwork and Boba had felt humiliated for weeks, but it had only made him want Din more. Din was the only Mandalorian who had ever gotten the best of Boba. His father had laughed and called him a lovesick fool. “It’s only motivated me further. You haven’t given up after five tries, why would I quit after two?”

“We’re just a couple of idiots, partner,” Cobb chuckled fondly.

Yeah, well, Boba couldn’t deny that. “I see Paz joined again.” He scowled as he watched the extremely large and handsome alpha flirt shamelessly with other omegas. Paz always did that. He’d collect ribbons and then just go after Din, anyways, leaving behind disappointed omegas he could have easily caught.

“He’s something else,” Cobb hummed with equal distaste. “While I’d hate to lose, I’d ultimately be alright for anyone to catch Din except for him.”

Boba wouldn’t settle for anyone catching Din but him. He would catch Din one day. “Paz doesn’t even really want Din. He just wants to say he caught the uncatchable omega.” He knew quite well Din certainly had no interest in the alpha. Anytime Paz approached him at the balls, Din hadn’t just given him a cold shoulder, he’d practically hissed like a tooka.

“Which is why I said what I said,” Cobb tilted his head in agreement before his dark eyes went wide and he looked towards the stairs in awe. “Well, speak of the Force itself.”

Following Cobb’s eyes, Boba saw Din and it quite literally took his breath away. The omega wore his pure silver chest armor over a blue gray flowy dress that hit the floor. It had billowy sleeves that exposed the skin of his arms and an obscenely high slit on the right side that showed the skin of his hip, even. On his left wrist he wore a ribbon matching the color of his dress. Boba had never seen Din wear or give out ribbons. Ever. His heart sank briefly. Had Din found someone he actually wanted to catch him? Boba began to look around the room for a new face, someone that might have caught the omega’s eye without him knowing.

A group of alphas flocked to Din like a moth to the flame the second he stepped down the final step. Din reluctantly entertained them, his face was stoic and unimpressed. The ribbon remained untouched on his wrist. Paz shoved the other alphas out of the way and made his way to the front. Boba watched Paz’s lips move with some words, but whatever he’d said had completely turned Din off. The omega rolled his eyes and started to walk away.

Wait…he was heading straight for Boba and Cobb. Both men instantly straightened, bumping shoulders in the process.

“Well, what do you know,” Cobb cleared his throat and lifted his chin. He beamed and smiled once the omega was within earshot. “Din Djarin. So wonderful to see you at another year’s hunt.”

Din held out his hand for Cobb to kiss, which was far more than he’d offered anyone else. Without hesitation, Cobb took it and pressed his lips to the skin with a smile. “Cobb. Come to fail for a, what is it now, fourth time?”

“Fifth, but who's counting, love?” Cobb winked.

Retracting his hand, Din looked straight down at Boba and smirked. “Boba Fett. I’m glad to see you here again. I thought I’d scared you off last year.”

“You could never scare me off, Princess,” Boba told him with husk in his voice.

Smirk deepening, Din stepped forward so that his armor was pressing against Boba’s. Keeping his dark eyes locked on the alpha’s, he held up his left wrist and slowly pulled at the ribbon. Looping it around Boba’s neck, he tied it loosely. Pressing his palms to Boba’s armor, Din leaned in and whispered hotly against his ear, “Catch me if you can, alpha.” His teeth grazed his lobe before he pushed himself back and away.

Boba’s entire body shivered and he had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep himself from getting hard. Kriff. Din Djarin, who had never awarded a ribbon to anyone in six tournaments, had just given his to Boba. Boba knew his pupils were blown wide with lust as he sucked in a breath and let out a small growl. “Third time’s the charm, Princess.”

“We’ll see,” Din smirked before turning his back and sauntering off to get himself a drink. Boba couldn’t stop looking at his bare leg showing with every other step. He wanted to sink his teeth into it.

“Well, druk,” Cobb sighed in disappointment, raising his glass to Boba. “You’re the chosen one.”

With Din out range for him to drink in that scent, Boba snapped out of the brief feral stint he had been close to going on. “Did…that really happen?”

“There’s a ribbon around your neck, so I’d have to say it did,” Cobb answered, pointing towards the item in question. “If you thought last year was embarrassing, you better not walk away without him this year after getting that thing. You done already pissed off every other alpha up in this place.”

Cobb was right. Every other alpha that had stormed Din was scowling at him with unfavorable looks and he could smell their sourness from here. Paz, especially, was looking at him as if he could kill him with sight alone. “There’s technically nothing stopping you from still chasing Din.” That was the risk omegas took by participating in the hunt. Most alphas respected the ribbons. It was an unspoken rule of honor, but not all of them did, and there were no rules preventing it.

“Unlike some alphas,” Cobb jabbed a finger in Paz’s direction, “I don’t go where I’m not wanted.” A gaggle of omegas who had been whispering to each other started to look towards Cobb and waving as they giggled to one another. Cobb tilted his head and smiled. “I’m down, but certainly not out. You go get that omega of yours, Fett. I’ll shoot my shot elsewhere.”

“It might help if you actually repainted that horrible armor of yours,” Boba looked down and nodded at Cobb’s armor. So much of the paint was gone that practically only the pure silver of the beskar shone through. It looked a mess.

“The omegas like the rugged look,” Cobb argued before opening his arms with a bright face towards the group of omegas. “Hello, omegas! Name’s Cobb Vanth!”

Boba still couldn’t quite believe it, even though he looked down and the ribbon was indeed still there. It smelled like Din. He already had his scent committed to memory, but he brought it to his nose and breathed in. Cobb was right. Boba had no choice but to catch Din this time, or else he’d never be able to come back and try again. Stars, he might as well just hand over his armor to his father and forfeit his rights as a Mandalorian if he failed to catch Din a third time.

Din mostly spoke with other omegas during the ball. They looked up to Din, and all of them had stars in their eyes as they crowded around him respectfully. Every so often, Boba caught Din looking over at him. Stars, Boba desired him so much, and to think that the omega felt the same? Din wanted him, too, but Boba knew the omega would not make it easy on him. He had to be earned.

After the social hour the pomp and circumstance began. There was the welcoming speech and promotional hype video followed by the contestant introductions and the full agenda for the following day. They’d already gone through health inspections all day today. When and if an omega was caught, they were taken right then and there on the run. That part wasn’t televised, but it was still out in the open for any alpha and omega passing by to see. Not that anyone stopped to watch. Everyone had something - someone - they were focused on, and they weren’t distracted by anything else, including an alpha and omega druking. The last couple he’d run past screwing, he’d congratulated and just kept going.

After everything finally concluded, Boba retreated to his room. All the contestants were put up in luxury rooms stocked full of foods and items that amplified scents. Just before the run, all the alphas and omegas were given false heat and rut inducers, as well that lasted 24 hours. Dressing down into comfortable clothes, Boba began to study the arena map once more. While the run was always on the same planet, it changed locations each year to keep things new, fresh, and exciting. When you were going up against someone like Din, it was extremely important to know the terrain, otherwise, the omega would use it against him. Once he felt he could stare at the maps no longer, he finally headed to bed and rested for the big day to come.

To no surprise, he dreamt of Din.

The next morning he showered with the special soaps that wouldn’t affect his natural scent and dressed in the approved robe. Easy access, you see. Contestants were allowed their own boots and their helmets. Wearing their buy’ce made it more difficult to bite the mating gland without a true and proper hold on the omega. No one was getting a lucky bite. Boba also wore the ribbon on his left wrist.

Heading to final inspections, he was given his false rut inducer and sent to the holding area. Paz smelled sour, his arms crossed and pressed against his large chest. Boba raised his chin and lifted his hand with the ribbon in challenge. He was sure Paz was glowering at him beneath his helmet. Antagonizing the massive alpha was probably not the best idea, but Boba couldn't help but feel a little smug. Paz had been chasing Din since the very first tournament and only turned the omega off. Boba couldn’t understand chasing after someone who very clearly wanted nothing to do with you. The other alpha could have been mated by now with an omega who desired him and with pups of his own if he’d wanted to. But it was as Cobb had said - Paz didn’t care about Din…he only cared about his pride.

Thirty minutes before starting time, the alphas were transported to their starting point. Omegas got a five minute head start and from a different location. No weapons were allowed. All they could use was the environment around them, but Mandalorians were very good at doing that. One hour. That’s all Boba had to try and catch Din. This was the most important hour of his life.

“Contestants, welcome to the 10th annual Mating Run of Cypreena. Omegas may begin their run at the end of the two minute countdown.”

A large projector of a clock appeared in the sky displaying the countdown.

Sucking in a large breath, Boba rolled his shoulders back and tried to calm his beating heart. Seven minutes. That’s how long he needed to wait until he could pursue Din. Some of the alphas began to pace as they waited, but Boba kept the foot of his boots on the white line, knelt down, and patiently waited. Well, maybe not so patiently, but he waited. After the two minutes the timer switched to the five minute delay and Boba felt his heartbeat begin to increase. He painstakingly watched as the minutes and seconds counted down until they hit zero.

Just as Boba was about to take off, he felt a large hand grab his shoulder and shove him down to the ground. Boba watched as Paz cursed him and ran by. Growling, Boba quickly got to his feet and began his pursuit. It wasn’t about following Paz. It was about finding Din’s scent. Scents were harder to detect with the helmets, but that was part of the game and also why scent amplifiers were used. Din was headed towards the water. Boba was sure of it.

It had been a pattern he’d picked up on when reviewing past tournaments. Din always gave a clue during the ball on where he’d go. His dress. It was always in the color of his dress. Last year Din had set up traps and strung Boba up in the trees. He’d worn a green dress at the ball. The previous year he’d lost Boba and everyone else through the stone caverns. Some Mandalorians had to have actual rescue groups come for them because Din had led them into areas where they’d gotten stuck. He’d worn gray. The year he’d worn yellow, there’d been a field of yellow flowers that were so tall you could hide in, and their aromas completely masked Din’s scent. Last night, Din had worn blue, and there was a river and even a marked waterfall in the arena. Like the flowers, water also would mask his scent.

Of course, it was a gamble. One Boba was banking everything on. If he was going in the wrong direction he’d not only be wasting time, but he’d open Din up to everyone else. To Paz. There were other alpha around him heading in the same direction, but he wasn’t worried. They were all wearing a ribbon. Din wasn’t their target. Boba was fairly certain Paz was literally the only alpha who hadn’t gotten the hint, but he was also the worst person to have ignored the signs.

Recalling the map in his head, he found the edge of the forest and headed into it. There was an alpha about 15 paces ahead of him. Boba heard it before it happened, the pulled back branch releasing as the alpha’s foot triggered the trap. It hit the alpha ahead of him with such force he sailed back past Boba and his helmet came off. Ouch. Boba felt that. Someone laughed from above him in the trees and shouted encouraging words in Mando’a at the downed alpha. Looked like some of the omegas had taken tips from Din in toying with their prospects. Anyone who thought this was an alpha’s game was dead wrong.

Coming into a clearing, he finally found the river. Boba needed to head northeast, so he went right and continued on. He was picking up scents, but none of them were Din’s. Not long after he picked up another scent, two bodies came flying out of the trees to his left. The alpha launched itself at the omega just in front of Boba tackling him to the ground. Boba barely jumped up and over them. They must have rolled into the water as he started to hear frantic splashing, but he didn’t look back to see what was happening.

Activating the thermal view on his helmet, he looked for any signs of footprints. There wasn’t anything. Din was too smart for that. If he had come this way, he’d likely stayed in the shallow water as he moved. Boba also didn’t rule out the fact that Din could be completely hiding within the water somewhere. It wouldn’t hide him from thermals, especially with the false heat amplifying his heat signatures, but most alphas didn’t even think to use them. They just relied on their scents, which would be completely masked beneath the water. Boba knew better after the two previous runs. Boba kept an eye on the water when the depth changed and there was a large gathering of rucks or foliage someone could hide behind or within, but the only thing his thermals picked up on was wildlife.

Boba could hear other alphas and omegas in the distance, but he ignored them and kept his course on the river. He’d been running for twenty minutes by the time he heard the sounds of rushing water. Boba slowed down to a walk and then stopped for a moment to catch his breath. The waterfall was breathtaking, and there were tons of nooks and crannies Din could be hiding in. Bringing the ribbon up to the edge of his helmet, Boba breathed it in. After a few seconds he breathed out and tried to breath in again the natural air around him. Nothing. Damn…Din had to be here, but he was just that good.

Approaching the very bottom of the waterfall he looked for a path to begin climbing up. He could see a small cave about twenty feet up. Making his way up, he saw something completely unexpected. Nestled there into the side of the hill was a beautiful pool that had formed from water that had found its way through the cracks. It was dark, though. He thought for a moment to turn on his light, but then instead just switched back to thermals. A bright red figure showed at the edge of the pool. Boba smirked.

Clever, Din, but not clever enough. I’ve got you, now.

Boba acted as if he’d noticed nothing, and started to casually walk around the cavern unsuspecting. How long could Din hold his breath, he wondered? He was going to force the omega to his limits. Boba moved very slowly, walking around the very edge of the pool as if he didn’t notice Din at all, but he knew he was there. Boba stopped right at the edge of where Din was at and turned his back as if he was just looking around. Din could apparently hold his breath for a very long time, but eventually, Boba just barely heard the sounds of the water breaking. If he hadn’t actively been listening, he might have missed it. Spinning around, he bent down and reached for the omega.

His fingers dug into the fabric of his robe. Din reached up and grabbed onto his forearms, trying to free himself. “Clever, omega, very clever, but I’ve figured out your game.”

“Have you?” Din asked before using his leverage on Boba’s arms and yanking him up and over him.

Boba hit the water with a cold splash. He tried to hold onto Din, but the omega wiggled his way out of his grip. Cursing to himself, Boba broke the surface and sucked in a gasp. Din was already halfway out of the water, but he quickly followed. Din moved faster than Boba who felt heavily bogged down by the water soaking through his robe. If this weren’t televised, he would have just ditched it completely. Din was already to the edge of the cave by the time Boba was pushing himself up and onto the ground of the cave. Boba thought he might have already lost him when suddenly a hand shot through the waterfall and grabbed Din’s neck. Forcing Din back, Paz’s body appeared.

Kriff! Had the alpha followed him!? Springing into action, Boba only focused on getting the other alpha away from Din. It may have been a false rut, but his protective instincts were still going haywire. Din was his omega, and he would protect him at all costs. Grabbing each of them, Boba pried them apart and tossed Din off to the side as he faced Paz. With an angry growl, Paz grabbed Boba’s neck with both of his hands and rammed him against the wall of the cave. The sharp edges of the rocks dug painfully into Boba’s back, and he was probably bleeding in a few areas.

“He’s mine,” Paz rumbled, fingers cutting off Boba’s air.

Boba didn’t put it past Paz to kill him. There was technically nothing in the rules that said you couldn’t kill your competitors. It simply had never happened before. Mandalorians were mostly a people of honor. Killing a fellow alpha over an omega who had clearly made their choice would be far from honorable. But Paz didn’t seem to be the honorable type right now. Throwing his head forward his helmet collided with Paz’s and it was enough to get the other alpha off of him.

“He’s mine!” Paz hissed again.

Boba clenched his fists. “Over my dead body, Paz.”

“My pleasure,” Paz responded. He lunged forward and Boba met him half way.

Paz was far larger than Boba, but Boba wasn’t weak. Using all his adrenaline and letting out a scream, Boba dug in his heels and surged forward. Before he knew it, they were both flying through the waterfall and over the edge of the cave, following the water down to the pool below. It wasn’t a far fall, but it now separated the alphas from the omega and had made the fight entirely between them. Paz dragged him from the water by the neck and then promptly punched him in the chest. Boba grunted as he doubled over. Fine. Be that way. Shaking his head to rid his helmet of the water he gathered himself and started to throw his own punches.

Boba and Paz fought, throwing punches and kicks but each blocking each other effectively to the point they were in a stalemate. What Paz had in size, Boba had in quickness. Din was probably long gone now, and Boba cursed at the thought, but at least he’d kept the omega safe from Paz. In the moment, that had been far more important. As long as Din could get away, Boba could fight another day.

Eventually getting the upper hand, Paz grabbed Boba and pinned him against a tree. “Give up, Fett.”

“Never,” Boba growled. He pressed up against Paz’s chest, but he was losing the battle. Paz was just too big to fight hand-to-hand without weapons. Boba didn’t expect the other alpha to suddenly go flying. He blinked several times, wondering what had just happened, when he saw Din there. Din had pried Paz away and thrown him into the river.

They stared at each other for several seconds.

“Hurry,” Din said before turning on his heel and taking off at a sprint.

Boba didn’t hesitate. He took off after him. The omega was going full force, and Boba found it hard to keep up. His heart was racing and breathing was hard. Boba didn’t know where the omega was leading him, but he didn’t want to wait to find out. Boba wanted to end this now. Launching forward with all the power he had, Boba wrapped his arms around the omega and they went tumbling to the forest floor and started to roll down a hill. Instinctively, Boba wrapped an arm around the back of Din and pressed a hand to his helmet to keep him protected.

When they rolled to a stop, it was with their helmets pressed together. There was a few seconds where they both tried to process what was happening, and then Din scrambled for release. No. Boba had come too close. He wasn’t going to lose him now. Reaching out, he barely caught the omega’s ankle and pulled him back to the ground. Frantically, Boba climbed onto the omega and straddled his waist to pin him down with his weight. Din fought back with everything he had, and he was almost successful in knocking Boba off of him, but the alpha dug the toes of his boots into the ground and kept his hold. With a possessive growl, he grabbed Din’s neck and forced his helmet off. Din was scowling, teeth bared. It certainly wasn’t the look of someone who wanted to be mated. But Boba knew Din would never just give in. He’d fight to the finish, even if there was a ribbon involved.

Reaching up and pulling off his own helmet, Boba tossed it to the side and got ready to make Din his. The omega gave a powerful kick, hitting Boba in the chest with his knee, and lurched forward. Boba had to gasp for his breath, but his fingers hooked around the omega’s calf before he could run away. Din fell to the ground and Boba pulled the omega towards him once more. Din’s mating gland was right there in the open, ready for the taking.

Boba had to fight with every inch of his body to keep Din down beneath him, but he eventually got a hand on his head and pinned it down into the earth with a knee to the base of his spine. Opening his mouth and baring his fangs, he bent down and dug his teeth into Din’s mating gland. Din let out a scream as his skin was breached. Boba felt a rush of emotions as blood filled his mouth. All he could see was Din, Din, Din.

Din shivered beneath him and let out a whine. “Alpha…”

Boba flipped Din onto his back only to be met with a grin.

“Took you long enough,” Din huffed with a smirk and a seductive lick of his lips. “Better make it worth it.”

Boba growled, having been waiting for this forever. Without hesitation, Boba tilted his head to offer up his own gland. With a possessive growl, Din launched up and bit down on Boba’s skin to claim him as well. With the omega’s teeth still in his skin, he pulled the tie of his robe loose and then did the same to Din’s. The omega was already covered in slick, some of it dribbling down the insides of his thighs. Boba was unsurprisingly already hard, and the second he got himself positioned at the omega’s entrance, he was thrusting up and into him hard.

Finally letting go of Boba’s neck, Din cried out in pleasure as he threw his head back, lips covered in the alpha’s blood. Wrapping his legs tightly around Boba’s waist, Din pulled the alpha’s head down towards him and slammed their lips together in a bruising kiss. Growling with pleased acceptance, Boba pressed back against him to deepen their kiss. Boba held nothing back, ramming his cock into Din with everything he had. Din encouraged him, digging his fingers into what little hair Boba had painfully. They both bit at each other’s lips, adding more blood to what was already there. Releasing his hair, Din’s fingernails drew bloody welts down the alpha’s back. It was purely animalistic. Boba got so deep he could feel the head of his cock pressing up against Din’s cervix and he had the overwhelming desire to simply breed.

“I’m going to knot you and fill you with pups, omega,” Boba growled into Din’s ear.

Din whined and exposed his neck submissively. “I’ve been waiting for so long, alpha.”

Kriff, so had he. Boba latched onto his neck, sucking hard and leaving blossoming bruises behind as he worked his way up to his ear and gently bit down on the sensitive flesh. Din shivered beneath him and moaned. “Druk, Din. Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum.”

“Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum,” Din echoed before bringing their foreheads together once more.

Din reached between them to grab his small cock, and Boba wrapped his hand around his. It wasn’t long before Din was arching his back beautifully and his dark eyes were rolling back into his head as he came. Planting his hands on either side of Din’s head, Boba quickened his pace as the omega pulsed around him with his orgasm. His knot began to swell and his thrusts shallowed until they were completely locked together and he was painting Din’s walls with white.

Sweaty foreheads pressed together, they both closed their eyes as they listened to each other’s heavy pants. It was strange how Boba could not just hear Din’s heartbeat, but feel it in his very soul. He could feel the omega’s warmth all around him like a blanket of comfort. He’d heard from many mated pairs what a bond was like, but none of it prepared him for the reality of it.

“Wish you could have seen Paz’s face when he saw us,” Din finally opened his eyes with a bloody smile.

Boba raised an eyebrow. “Oh, was he here? Didn’t notice.” He’d forgotten about the other alpha the moment he’d had Din beneath him.

“Oh yes,” Din laughed and let his head fall back to the leaves and the dirt. “But it was far too late. Thank the stars. You had me worried for a minute.”

It had been a little close for comfort. “Well, you didn’t exactly make my job easy.”

“You were up for the challenge,” Din smirked, running his fingers up Boba’s arm. After a few seconds, his smirk faltered and a more serious look graced his face. “I’m glad you caught me, Boba. You're the only alpha I’ve ever wanted to give myself to.”

Boba brushed the back of his knuckles across Din’s cheek. “You couldn’t have just said that instead of making me chase you for three years?”

“Now where would the fun have been in that?” Din grinned.

Grunting, Boba leaned down and kissed him again. “I can’t wait to take you properly in a real bed.”

“Mm, well, you’ll have that chance tonight after the banquet,” Din reminded him.

There was always a closing banquet to celebrate the couples that did come out of the hunt. Boba was already thinking about all the ways he’d have Din. Feeling his knot begin to deflate, Boba carefully pulled out with a hiss. Kriff, it was quite the sight to see his cum mixed with Din’s dribbling from his cunt between his thighs onto the forest floor. Hooking his arm beneath Din’s, Boba helped the omega to his feet. They both straightened out their mangled robes and grabbed their helmets.

Boba reached out a hand. “Shall we?”

Smiling, Din laced his fingers in Boba’s. “Yes.”

Together, they made their way towards a checkpoint so they could be processed out. There was still 15 minutes left on the clock. Record time. Passing by several other copulating couples, they shared smirks and chuckled. At the checkpoint, they were assessed by medical professionals and droids before they were given the clear and provided with supplements that would start to counteract what they’d been given for the false heat and rut. Their mating bonds were dressed with healing salves and they were allowed to shower and dress for the banquet in their new joint room that mated couples were given. They didn’t get very clean in the shower. Din pressed Boba up against the shower wall as soon as they stepped beneath the water and not much later got to his knees to suck the alpha off. Boba returned the favor once they were both wrapped in the fluffy robes, the alpha getting between the omega’s legs on the bed and eating Din out excruciatingly slow. Afterwards, they finally got dressed for the banquet. Din’s dress was green with red and yellow accents that seemed to match Boba’s armor exactly.

“It would have been very embarrassing if you hadn’t caught me,” Din teased as ran his fingers beneath Boba’s chin and kissed him.

“For you or for me?” Boba teased. “After giving me your ribbon, if I had failed to mate you, I’d be laughed out of the hunt.”

Din kissed him again and looked at him with serious dark eyes. “I would not have let you walk away without me. I have lived with the regret of doing what I did to you last time for a full year. It was fun at the time, but I ended up hating what I did. I should have let you catch me, then.”

Boba sucked in a suprised breath at the confession. “I thought you enjoyed the game? Toying with alphas. Humiliating them.”

“I enjoyed humiliating other alphas,” Din corrected him before shaking his head, “But not you. I think I’ve loved you since the first time we met, but I didn’t know any other way to show that than the hunt. I’m sorry.”

Boba cupped the side of Din’s face with his hand and rubbed his thumb against his cheek. “Don’t be sorry. It was all worth it. Plus, it was fun to beat Vizsla in that way.”

Din huffed and smiled. “Insufferable, that one. I wonder if he’ll even continue to compete now that I’m gone? I do feel a little bad for Cobb, though. He’s an incredibly sweet and attractive alpha that I had considered, I just…there was you.”

“Don’t worry about Vanth, there were plenty of omegas waving their ribbons at him at the ball,” Boba told him.

“I know, but he’d been chasing me for years,” Din argued. “If it weren’t for you, I probably would have given him my ribbon. I was growing tired of the hunt, to be honest. I didn’t really want to go another year. I didn’t…” Din hesitated for a moment, pressing his lips together. “I didn’t want to go another year with my Foundling only having one buir .”

Din’s Foundling. Boba had met the little green child a few times. Din had hardly said anything about him at all. Not his name, how he’d found him. He’d been rather secretive and very protective of the kid. Boba had always felt it strange Din had the child with him during hunts, but the omega had never seemed too afraid for his safety. “I’d be honored to be your Foundlings buir , Din. I look forward to learning more about him. In turn, I get to introduce you to my buir .”

“Oh?” Din’s eyebrows shot up. “I’d also be honored.”

Bringing Din’s knuckles to his lips, Boba smiled.

In fresh clothes and shined armor, the newly mated pair headed to the banquet. The vibe of the room was a mix of happy couples and disappointed singles. Boba was glad to see Cobb with a dark haired male omega on his arm. They were smiling at each other and already looked smitten. Given Cobb was the only one Boba wanted to talk to other than Din, he guided his omega towards their direction.

“Son of a gun, you did it,” Cobb praised Boba as they approached. “Thought you were uncatchable, Din.”

Din smiled warmly at the other alpha. “I was just waiting for the right alpha. And I let him catch me, for the record.” Boba wasn’t going to entirely disagree with that statement so he smiled and shrugged. “Good to see you with a mate, Cobb. Really. Kriem, wasn’t it?”

“Yes!” The omega beamed, happy that Din remembered him. “I still can’t believe an alpha that was chasing you decided I was worth it.”

In a surprising gesture, Din smiled at the other omega and touched his arm gently. He’d always been so cold to everyone around him, Boba included, but there was nothing but warmth there, now. Though, to think of it, as distant as Din had always seemed, he’d always been the first to step forward and help someone, especially other omegas. “You’re more than worth it. Remember that. Don’t let this one ever treat you otherwise.”

“Come now, Din. You know I’m a perfect gentleman,” Cobb argued.

“Too much so,” Din agreed with a chastising hum before looking at Kriem. “So, tell us all about it. How long did it take, and how did it happen?”

Cobb’s face turned red and he let out a small cough. “Well, now, we don’t have to go through all of that.”

“No, we do,” Din argued with a smirk, sensing it was probably a little more embarrassing than Cobb would have liked to admit.

Feeling the need to save his fellow alpha, Boba nodded his head towards the drinks. “Let the omegas gossip and tell their tales. We should go get some drinks.”

“Thank you, partner,” Cobb let out a relieved sigh. “Paz looks angrier than a krayt dragon.”

Boba scoffed in agreement. “He was sure acting like one out in the arena. I really think he would have killed me if he could have. He certainly gave it a good effort. Din actually came to my rescue at one point.”

“Kriff, he should be banned,” Cobb shook his head disapprovingly. “That, or finally put his focus on finding a proper mate who might mellow him out.”

Boba wouldn’t necessarily want to put Paz on any omega, but he knew there were plenty in the room that would still volunteer their ribbons to him just because he was a Vizsla and that meant status. “Well, he isn’t either of our problem, anymore.”

Picking up two glasses of champagne, Cobb handed one to Boba. “Cheers to that.”

The banquet had food and music, and although there was enough room at the table for another couple besides Cobb and Kriem, Din quietly glowered at anyone else that tried to join them. That was more of the Din Boba knew. After desert and with a healthy flush on everyone’s face, Din stood and bid Cobb and Kriem goodnight before tugging Boba behind him. As soon as they were through the door, Din was grabbing him and throwing him onto the bed. The omega climbed on top of him before Boba could even process what was happening and then their lips crashed together. Boba moaned against Din’s lips, and then the omega grabbed the alpha’s hand and guided it beneath his skirts to his already sopping cunt.

“No underwear, Din?” Boba smirked as he pulled back.

“No,” Din answered simply before kissing him again.

Boba let two fingers slip inside Din’s wet heat and began to thrust and scissor to stretch him as they kissed. While they kissed, Din worked through Boba’s barriers to pull his hardening cock free. Tongues dancing together in each other’s mouths, Din stroked Boba to full hardness and the alpha entered a third and fourth finger inside him. After another few minutes of deep kisses and fondling each other, Din pulled away and sat up. Grabbing Boba’s hand once more, Din pulled it free from between his legs and brought his slick coated fingers to his lips. With seductive eyes, the omega pressed the alpha’s fingers between his lips and sucked.

It went straight to Boba’s cock and he growled. “Stars, Din. You’ll be the death of me.”

“Then it’ll be a good death,” Din purred as he let go of Boba’s hand and reached down for his cock as he positioned his hips above it.

Both alpha and omega groaning together, Din sunk down onto Boba’s cock. Rocking his hips back and forth, Din settled down onto Boba’s lap with the alpha’s cock fully sheathed inside of him. They stayed like that for a moment, eyes closed as they both enjoyed the feeling of being inside and around each other in that way. Once fully stretched and acclimated, Din pressed his palms against Boba’s chestplate and started to rise up and down. Boba’s hands eventually found their way to Din’s hips and he just watched as the beautiful and gorgeous omega moved on top of him. Stars, he could look at this forever. He could look at this forever, now that Din was his mate. Once Boba was pulled from his trance, he pressed his feet to the mattress and began to thrust up to meet the omega’s hips with each bounce. Wet and sloppy noises echoed off the walls as they made love. Boba managed to snake his hand beneath Din’s full skirts enough to find his cock and began to stroke it. Din’s moans and movements began to become more erratic and he hunched over, needing to place more weight against Boba as he got close to his orgasm. Boba came and knotted Din before the omega climaxed, but the alpha didn’t stop stroking Din as he ground his hips against the knot until he finally clenched down and found release.

With a pleased sign, Din collapsed forward and pressed their foreheads together. “Mmm…not bad for round one.”

“Round one?” Boba asked with a chuckle and a raised eyebrow.

“There’s a lot of time to make up for,” Din told him before kissing him.

Boba wrapped his arms around the omega. That there was. He lost count of how many times they went at it. Eventually they did shed the armor and clothes, and at one point they rolled off the bed onto the floor. It didn’t stop them. They just kept going. And going. It was a question that was far too late as they laid in bed exhausted, when Boba asked if Din was on inhibitors. At first, Din had looked him straight in the face and said no and let Boba internally begin to panic before laughing and saying he was. It wasn’t that Boba didn’t necessarily want a child, but he certainly wanted it to be planned.

The next morning, after sleeping in, they both dressed in their full suits of armor and gathered their things to head to the ship yard. They had agreed to take Slave to go see Jango and discuss their next steps. Two ships weren’t really needed, so even though Jango wasn’t an active hunter anymore, perhaps Boba could return the ship to him. To Boba’s great surprise, however, Fennec Shand was at Din’s ship holding the green child in the crook of her arm.

“Finally,” Fennec commented as they approached. The child held out his arms with grabby hands, desperate to be offloaded to Din.

Boba looked between Fennec and Din in confusion as the child was returned to its parent. “Wait. You two know each other?”

“Oh yeah,” Fennec laughed. “Din and I go way back. Before either of us met you.”

How had he never heard this before!? Boba and Fennec had been friends for years! She’d always been his biggest supporter when it came to Din and the hunt…but was that because she also had known Din? “And here I thought you were always on my side.”

“I was!” Fennec argued. “But I was also on Din’s side. Which was also your side. Because the two of you have been hot for each other since day one. I, for one, am glad I don’t have to listen to either of you pine for each other anymore. It was exhausting. So where are we going?”

“Who said you were coming?” Boba argued. “I need to introduce Din to my father.”

Fennec’s eyes lit up. “Oh! Daddy Jango! I’m definitely coming. I need revenge after he wiped the floor with me at sabacc last time.”

“Fennec-,”

“It’s fine,” Din told him. “This way we have a babysitter for Grogu.”

“Hey! I am not here to watch the kid just so the two of you can have sex,” Fennec argued. Din tossed her some credits. “Alright, well, maybe for a few hours.”

Din lifted Grogu up in his arms and held him out to Boba. “Boba, this is Grogu. Grogu, this is Boba…your new buir .” Grogu’s ears perked up with interest.

“Hello, ad’ika, ” Boba greeted, holding out a hand and letting the child grip a finger curiously. “How did you find him?”

“It’s…a long story,” Din answered.

“Well, we’ll have plenty of time on the ride,” Boba told him, holding out an arm.

Din took it, and they boarded Slave as mates. Finally.
