Chapter Text
I don't think that passenger seat
Has ever looked this good to me
He tells me about his night
And I count the colors in his eyes
"Rex!" Chad grinned as he got into the car. "Took you long enough, Roofer."
Rex rolled his eyes.
"Oh, hush up, hero. How was class?"
"Incredible!" He started. Rex felt a little bad, whatever Chad was saying sounded fascinating, but he was a little busy discovering yet another precious shade of blue in his eyes.
He'll never fall in love
He swears, as he runs his fingers through his hair
I'm laughing 'cause I hope he's wrong
"You can't say you'll never fall in love." Rex laughed as he pulled out of the college. "You will one day. Unless you're aromantic?"
"No, but seriously! I'm tired of it. I keep falling for people who will never want me." Chad frowned, looking out the window.
Rex had to bite his lip to keep from saying, 'Fall for me, then.'
He shook his head, "Anyways, my professor told the funniest joke today!"
And I don't think it ever crossed his mind
He tells a joke, I fake a smile
But I know all his favorite songs
And I could tell you
His favorite color's green
He loves to argue
Born on the Seventeenth
His sister's beautiful
He has his father's eyes
And if you ask me if I love him..
"What about you, Rex? Are you in love~?" Chad teased. Rex just smirked at him.
I'd lie
"Course not."
He looks around the room
Innocently overlooks the truth
Shouldn't a light go on?
Doesn't he know that I've had him memorized for so long?
Rex looked around the casino floor, showing Chad the new stuff he'd had put in. Chad had to remind himself to look everywhere except at Rex.
He sees everything in black and white
Never let nobody see him cry
I don't let nobody see me wishing he was mine
"Rex?" Chad knocked softly on the door. He knew he saw Rex walk off briskly, a sign that the billionaire was upset. "Come on, man. Let me in."
"Go away, Chadster!"
Chad sighed and used his power to open the door. Rex glared at him, but when Chad opened his arms, the other man wasted no time in burying himself in them.
I could tell you
His favorite color's green
He loves to argue
Born on the Seventeenth
His sister's beautiful
He has his father's eyes
And if you ask me if I love him..
It took a couple hours and a bottle and a half of wine, but he finally got Rex cheered up.
"I don't care what Frisbee Boy has to say, you'll find someone someday." Chad said, sneering a little.
"What about you, Mr. Hero? Don't you ever want to settle down with someone? Share that big brain of yours?"
I'd lie
Chad looked away, into his wine glass.
"Nope." He said, popping the P.
He stands there, then walks away
My God, if I could only say
I'm holding every breath for you
"An arranged marriage?" Rex asked, frowning.
Chad nodded, clearly unhappy.
"Yes. My parents... think it for the best."
Rex's eyes widened.
"You... You're in love." He said softly.
Chad snorted, "What makes you think that?"
"More than that, you're in love with someone they don't approve of."
He'd never tell you, but he can play guitar
I think he can see through everything but my heart
First thought when I wake up is
My God, he's beautiful
So I put on my make-up and pray for a miracle
"Rex..." Chad's voice was pained.
"Will you tell me who?"
Yes I could tell you
His favorite color's green
He loves to argue
Oh, and he kills me
His sister's beautiful
He has his father's eyes
And if you ask me if I love him..
"... Someone who will never feel the same."
Rex's face betrayed alarm.
"Not your ex!"
If you ask me if I love him..
Chad's eyes widened. Gods, no, not his ex, but...
Rex couldn't know.
I'd lie
"... Yeah."
