Chapter Text
Aizawa let out a sob as they entered the interrogation room. This villain couldn’t be Oboro… No... Shirakumo was dead, wasn't he? This couldn't be possible, and yet...
The misty villain, Kurogiri, screamed as an intense pain flared throughout his body and mind. Shouta sat in front of him, tears streaming down their face, as they tried to bring their friend back. They screamed, “OBORO SHIRAKUMO!” Kurogiri’s body flared out in response as he let out an inhuman screech. The fog covering his body dispersed, revealing golden eyes as he woke up with a clear mind for the first time in 15 years. “Sh-Sho-Shouta Aizawa… O-Old f-f-fri-friend…” The former villain's body slumped forward in exhaustion, towards the glass where Aizawa sat. “Z-Za-Zashi… S-Sho... I-I'm... h-hom-home…” With those final words, his consciousness drifted off and he was out like a light.

Oboro grinned at his two best friends. “Let’s start an agency together! Think about it, between the three of us, if one of us slips up, the other two will always have his back!”

Shouta screamed in grief over the grave of their best friend. “NO!” The tears were streaming down their face rapidly, and they knew they wouldn’t do anything to stop them. Their screams rivaled that of Present Mic's screams on a good day. “P-Please…” Shouta begged. They knew that they were alone, and they couldn’t help but be grateful for that fact.

Shouta cried into Hizashi’s shoulder as they walked out of the interrogation room. “H-He responded, Shi… H-He responded to u-us…” Shouta's voice cracked slightly as they spoke. Both men remembered the pain they'd experienced from losing Oboro the first time. “I know, Sho. It’ll be alright." Hizashi vowed. "He’s back now, and we’re going to help him stay.”
Tsukauchi approached the two in the hallway and patted Shouta on the shoulder. “I know you two are probably exhausted, so I’ll let you go. We’ve got it under control from here. Though, a word of advice, please try to get plenty of rest. He’s sedated for now, but I doubt that he will remain that way for very long. He’ll be placed in the ICU of Musutafu Hospital as soon as we know that he’s fully broken through the control that was being held over him. It may take a while though, so please be aware of that. We will be doing everything to make sure Shirakumo is in the best state he can be. And maybe with him out from the League's control, we’ll be able to catch Shigaraki Tomura and the rest of them.”
Aizawa felt broken; they could swear their heart was in a million pieces. They had watched Oboro die, seen him fall… But he was here. How hadn’t they noticed he was alive before they left the rubble all those years ago? “O-Oboro…” They broke down, once again sobbing loudly. They'd failed their best friend when he'd needed them most. The guilt weighed heavily on them as they leaned against Present Mic. "I-I'm sor-sorry..." The plea was gently whispered into the air, the wind carrying it away.
