Chapter 1: Come Back to Me

Chapter Text

“Winter.”

She stopped dead in her tracks, grip on the door handle tightening, as she laid her eyes on the man in the black suit.

This couldn’t be happening. It’s been four years.

“M-Mark.” Panic grabbed at her throat as she milked out the name.

“You hide well.” He smirked, “if you were smart, you’d come inside willingly, and not try to run.”

Winter’s jaw clenched in anger, because he was right. If she tried to run away, he’d catch her within a second and handle her the hard way. She wasn’t in the mood for that, so she did as she was told, slipping inside her Seattle apartment, and closing the door behind her.

“Why are you here?”

Mark leans forward, elbows resting on his knees, hands clasped together. He tilts his head to the side, almost as if he was mocking the anxious way Winter was standing by the door.

“Karina’s been looking for you.”

Winter closed her eyes at the mention of her name. She figured that much. That’s why she’s been hiding, and she’s been doing well for the past four years. Winter thought she was successful, finally starting to ease her anxieties every time she stepped outside of her apartment. She didn’t feel like she was being watched anymore. But boy, was she so wrong.

“I left her, Mark. I’m—, this—,” Winter motioned to the space around them, “I live here now. I-I can’t go back. I don’t want to.”

Mark stands, pocketing his hands, and looks around at where Winter Kim had been living for the past four years. “It’s cute.”

“This is my home.” Winter grits.

Mark glances at her, before reaching into the hidden pocket of his suit, pulling out his phone. Winter watches as he waits for someone to pick up his call, Mark eyeing her pointedly.

“I found her.”

Winter huffs angrily, crossing her arms.

“Come. Say hi to Karina.” Mark motions her over, but Winter only glares.

“No.”

His eyes visibly hardened at her disobedience, and Winter tries her hardest to not flinch. “I’m handling you as softly as I can out of respect for you, Winter. Trust me, I could be doing worse. In fact, knowing how hard headed you are, Karina says to handle you how I see fit.”

Mark approaches her, “don’t test me.”

Winter tightens her fists at her side. Mark was Karina’s second for a reason. He was loyal, and had the skills and passion to do what Karina needed him to do. And from the time that Winter was with Karina, she could see just how committed Mark was to the Yu family.

The phone is shoved into Winter’s face, and she’s met with piercing hazel eyes. She couldn’t help the small breath she felt needed to take. Winter hasn’t seen Karina in four years, and she didn’t plan on ever going back to her.

Karina Yu looked matured, her aura was darker, and Winter could feel it piercing through the phone screen.

“Minjeong.” Karina says her name, the one that no one calls her anymore after her parents had died, and it felt venomous. “You look even more beautiful than I remembered.”

Winter inhales and exhales, her whole body trembling with fear. “Karina, please don’t.”

Hazelnut eyes darkened, “it’s Jimin. To you, it’s Jimin.” The possessiveness inked through every syllable. Before Winter, no one else other than Karina’s parents called her by her birth name. It felt too personal for Karina, something that only people she loved with her whole heart dearly, could have the pleasure of calling her that.

“Come back to me, Minjeong.”

Winter looked away at the way Karina’s eyes softened when she said those words. She can’t. She won’t.

“No. I left .”

Why ? Why’d you leave, Minjeong?” Karina growled, slamming her fists on the mahogany table she sat behind.

Winter opens her eyes and looks up at Mark. Her orbs glistened with fear, as her chest aches with so much anxiety. “ Please , Mark. Just let me live my life.”

“I don’t take orders from you.” His demeanor remains closed off, showing no signs of sympathy, or a heart

“Come back to me, Minjeong. I need you.”

Winter grunts in frustration, “you’re psychotic!”

Karina smirks, “am I?”

She doesn’t retort, her ragged breathing was the only thing that could be heard as she maintained her glare towards Karina to show just how much she had grown to loathe her.

“I’ll show you just how crazy I am, baby.”

The camera pans to the side, and Winter sees familiar silver hair first, and her body runs cold. “T-Taeyeon—,” she tries to grab the phone to get a closer look at her older sister, but Mark raises it higher and away from her reach.

Tears brim her eyes, and Winter is desperate to snatch the phone away.

“Calm down.” Mark tells her.

Winter stills, close to sobbing, as she painfully waits for Mark to lower the phone back to her height. A gun is pointed to Taeyeon’s temple the next time Winter is able to see the phone clearly, and her heart drops to the pit of her stomach.

“K-Karina, please. D-Don’t do this.”

“Do you care about her?” Karina asks, pressing the point of the gun harder into Taeyeon’s head.

“Karina.” Winter sounds desperate. Just like Karina wanted her.

“It’s Jimin, baby. To you, it’s Jimin.” Karina repeats.

“J-Jimin.” Winter complies, not wanting to anger the woman anymore than she was showing.

“Baekhyun owes me money, sweetheart. He laundered my money and gambled it all away.” Karina says, voice light and careless. She tilts her head to the side, outlining Taeyeon’s head with the point of her gun.

“Then deal with him, not my sister.” Winter says through clenched teeth.

A low chuckle leaves Karina’s lips. “You don’t care about Baekhyun. We both know your sister can do better than what she married. He’s lazy, and he’s a prick.” That’s something Winter and her could both agree on.

When Taeyeon married Baekhyun, Winter didn’t approve. Especially since they’ve only been together less than a year, and he didn’t show much promise about what he could offer to her sister. But Taeyeon was blinded by love. Or just the thought of it. She’d always been the spontaneous kind of person, unlike Winter.

“You love your sister. She’s the only family you have left.” Karina reminds her, “I’m surprised you left without sparing her any details of where you were. It was a smart move, Minjeong. Otherwise, I would’ve killed her a long time ago if I knew she’d been keeping you from me.”

Winter closes her eyes shut. “Please.”

“What are you willing to do to save her, Minjeong? Tell me.”

“Anything. I’ll do anything .”

“Mark will bring you to me.” It was an order.

“Karina, I can’t—,”

“You will.”

She felt helpless. Winter knew the power Karina had.

“How else was I going to get you back to me, Minjeong?” Karina smiles sweetly at her, “come back to me, baby. Or I’ll take everything from you.” Her finger tightens on the trigger, and Winter’s eyes widened in panic.

“Stop!”

Karina lowers the gun and walks towards the camera, “I-I’ll come back.” It was torturous to say, to agree to, but Winter couldn’t let her sister die. She knew Karina was capable.

“Good girl.” Karina smirks.

“Mark will bring you to me. Don’t give him a hard time, Minjeong.”

Mark tells her to pack what she needs, but he isn’t a patient man, Winter knows he shares that quality with Karina. He only gives her five minutes until he’s rushing her, telling her that their jet is scheduled to leave in an hour and that they needed to get to the airport.

Winter was feeling too many emotions at one time. She was jittery and anxious the whole ride to the airport, and within the wait to board.

This was happening. This was really happening. After four years of staying hidden and away from her old life, she was walking towards it again. Unwillingly

“Is she going to kill me?” She asks Mark.

“What do you think?”

Winter blinks, “I think she’s capable. She has no self control. Karina has no boundaries, a-and… and I betrayed her. I left her.”

Mark turns to her, eyes blank, and showing no emotion. “If Karina wanted you dead, she would’ve ordered it, and I would’ve had you dead the moment you walked through that door.”

Her fingers twist against each other, biting her lip to stop it from trembling. “There’s no telling with her. She’s unpredictable.”

She sees Mark turn his attention back to the glass walls of the airport, looking out to the sky where the sun was setting, painting the clouds a pinkish-yellow hue.

“You shouldn’t have left in the first place.”

Winter turns, eyes snapping coldly towards him. “I saw her torture a man to death. That’s…” she shakes her head at the memory, “that’s not the woman I fell in love with. That’s not the Yu Jimin I grew up with.”

“Deep down you knew that the Yu legacy did not stem from just the business world. The Yu legacy ran deep, deep to the underworld, which Karina leads. People fear her, Winter. Her reputation is what’s keeping the Yu legacy standing strong.” It sickens Winter that Mark was trying to justify what she’s witnessed.

“It’s wrong .” Winter seethes.

“It’s more than wrong,” Mark doesn’t deny it, “but this is our life. We were born for this.”

Winter scoffs, “it’s not my life. I don’t want this life. I want normal, I want to be happy.”

“Don’t tell me. Tell Karina.”

_

Being back in the desert, seeing the Strip and what of Las Vegas on the way to the mansion made it settle more into Winter’s brain that this was definitely happening.

Mark sat in the passenger seat of the black SUV that had picked them up from the airport, another man in a black suit behind the wheel. Winter didn’t recognize him, but Mark addressed him as Johnny.

Maybe he was new.

Winter wasn’t really allowed to speak to Karina’s security, or anyone, really. That’s how possessive Karina was. Mark was the only one Winter remembered, his job was to protect her from the start, and Karina trusted Mark’s loyalty that she surprisingly did not get jealous of their interactions.

At one point, young and dumb, Winter found Karina’s jealous and possessiveness cute. Winter adored it, being pampered and loved the way Karina had.

But it took some maturing, it took growth for Winter to realize that she did not want to be loved like this.

It was suffocating, it was toxic.

It was scary.

After seeing what she saw four years ago, Winter’s first instincts were to run and never look back. To save herself from the woman she once thought she loved. The one she once thought she knew.

Four years ago, what she saw was not the Yu Jimin she fell in love with.

The SUV pulled up to a metal gate, guarded by two men in the same black suits, their own ear pieces dangling from their left ears. When the metal gate opened for the SUV to pass through, Winter could feel the nerves setting in again.

Seeing the mansion she fled from four years ago only brought back memories she so badly wanted to erase. Memories that brought her nightmares, and caused her to look over her shoulder every second she went outside.

Mark opened the door for her, beckoning her out of the car, much to her dismay. He held a firm grip on her upper arm, his other hand carrying the luggage that was messily stuffed with her belongings.

“I-Is she h-here?” Winter swallowed the lump in her throat, as they made their way through the tall and wide front door.

“Karina’s at work.” Mark tells her, and that makes Winter release a sigh of relief. It bought her some extra time to prepare for whatever was coming to her.

Winter wasn’t expecting a soft and hearty welcome back. She knew Karina was angry. Betrayed. Livid. There was no way in hell Karina was going to handle her softly.

The worst that can happen is Karina kills her with her bare hands.

Winter knows she would do it if she wanted to, and a part of her thinks that Karina does want to.

“Are you hungry?” Mark asks her once they’re inside.

Winter doesn’t answer, eyes roaming around, and nostalgia hitting her hard.

Nothing has changed. It was just like Winter remembered it.

“Winter?” Mark calls for her again.

She snaps out of her thoughts and turns to him, “no.” She says. If she ate anything, she feels that it’ll only rise back up from the immense suspense and fear she was feeling.

Mark gives her one firm nod, before grabbing her arm again. Winter rolls her eyes, “you don’t have to pull me. I’m already here, it’s not like I can run back to Seattle.”

She’s pushed into a room, and it takes a second for Winter to realize where she stood. A loud drop of her suitcase startles her, and Winter turns back to Mark before he leaves, gripping onto his suit.

“I don’t want to be here.” Winter tells him, pleads, almost.

There were too many memories.

She turns back towards the room, taking it in like it was still a fever dream, or more so a nightmare that she was back.

Nothing has changed.

Her eyes land on the white curtains, and to the white comforter of the bed. Winter remembers arguing with Karina about what color scheme their room should be. Karina wanted everything in dark colors, because that’s just what she drew towards, darkness. Wherein, Winter wanted the room to be bright and comfy, like white.

Despite Karina’s roughness and need for control, with Winter, there were moments where Karina didn’t mind giving up that control. It was rare, and nothing of importance, like choosing what color scheme their room should be. But it still meant everything to Winter knowing that Karina was willing to give up the control she craved just to make her happy.

Even for the smallest things, like curtains.

“Karina will be back soon. Wait for her here.” Mark tells her, taking Winter’s hand off of him in fear that if Karina found out Winter was touching someone that wasn’t her, he’d be dead meat.

“No, please—,” Winter closes her eyes, and memories flood to surround her brain. To every touch, every promise, all the lovemaking. It was too overwhelming to think about. It came hurling at her too fast. She’s been gone for four years, but yet, it took just one whole day for it to disappear and for Winter to be shoved into hell

“I want to see my sister.”

“Karina will be back soon.” Mark says again, tone firmer and relaying that she was not going to get her way.

Mark leaves the room with a soft shut of the door, and Winter was left alone with flooded memories that she did not want to relive.

Winter didn’t want this. She wanted a normal life, and for the past four years, that’s what she was chasing. That’s what she had. She was able to talk to normal people, and do normal things. She was forming friendships outside of a world that she knew, a world filled with violence, wealth, and sex.

The first few months on her own, Winter didn’t know where she wanted to go, where she wanted to settle her new life. She knew of a relative in Washington, her name was Joy. She was older, a distant cousin of Winter’s mother. She’s never met Joy, but her mother, when she was alive, spoke so fondly about Joy and their memories as kids.

Joy helped her settle, got her a job at a music cafe where she sang every other day, and worked behind the counter on the days she wasn’t singing. Winter had an urge, a want, to attend college, and pursue an actual career, but she couldn’t risk submitting documents and information to a University, and make it easy for Karina to find her.

Winter kept it low. Not making any big moves for the privilege of peace.

She met new friends, they were all great. Winter even had the opportunity to move on in her love life, and started dating a few months ago. It took her three years, but she took that step. His name was Jake. He attended the University nearby from the music cafe she worked at, and he hailed from Australia.

Winter showed no interest the first time she met him, only interested in what he wanted to order, so the line could get a move on. But Jake was persistent. He came everyday, saying whatever cheesy pickup line he came up with that morning, followed by a cheeky smile.

They formed a friendship first, but Winter still wasn’t interested, until a few months earlier. She gave him a chance, another step to a normal life. He was gentle, caring, and just soft . Winter’s never been loved like that. It was overwhelming, but she let herself feel it.

Winter cared about Jake, but she wouldn’t say she was in love . It’s only been a few months, and it’s not like their relationship could go any further now that she is back here

In hell.

_

“Tell me you love me, Minjeong.”

Winter twirls around, a giggle escaping her lips at such an adorable request. She stares at her best friend, the love of her life, looking at her with adoring eyes. Karina looked younger, hair long, and draped over her shoulders like the way she loved to wear her hair when they were younger.

“Haven’t I told you enough today?”

Karina collects her into her arms, kissing her softly, but Winter could feel her possessiveness through every caress. “I could never tire of it. It’s never enough no matter how much you tell me.”

“I love you.” Winter whispers, placing a short and quick kiss against pouty lips.

“Now you tell me.” Winter demanded cutely.

Karina grins, lifting her up, so that Winter could cling onto her like a koala on a log. “I love you.” She kisses her hard, leading her to the gazebo in their backyard, and sitting down, so Winter could straddle her.

“I love you, with all that I am.” Karina noses her neck, inhaling Winter’s intoxicating and addicting scent that she would never tire from.

Winter releases a content sigh, clutching harder onto Karina’s shoulders, when the older woman starts to nip at her skin. She feels Karina harden underneath her, and Winter can’t help, but grind against her.

A grunt leaves Karina’s lips, and she bites hard. “You drive me insane, baby girl.” Winter reaches between them, unzipping Karina’s pants and squeezing her large, hard length. “And I do it best.”

Karina pushes Winter’s dress up, “you want me?”

Winter moans when Karina moves her underwear to the side, entering her expertly the way she knew Winter’s body in and out. “I want you. I want you so bad.”

It felt real. It felt so real.

She feels it. Every thrust, every kiss against her skin. But it was a dream. Winter dreamt often, no matter how much she despised it, she dreamt of Karina more often than not.

“I missed you so much, baby.”

Winter feels the whisper against her ear, and another thrust rocking her forward. She moans, arms moving in their own accord, as she wraps it around a body—

Her eyes flutter open, and she’s met with lust-filled hazel brown eyes piercing through her.

“K-Karina?” She gasps, realizing her reality. She was back in hell , and Karina was pounding in and out of her with great speed. “N-No—,” Winter tries to push her away, but her body betrays her when a rippling moan grunts through her.

“Don’t fight it, baby girl. You want me.” Karina holds her hands above her head, placing kisses all over her face.

“Karina, p-please. N-no!” Winter sobbed, despite her body reacting otherwise, to every touch Karina gave her.

“You’re never leaving me again.” Karina growls, thrusting harder and faster animalistically. When they were together, they went at it everyday, and Karina had been deprived for the past four years, since she’s left, but Winter never expected for her to stay loyal to her at all. Winter wanted Karina to forget about her, to move on.

“Karina, please. Stop!” Winter tries to wriggle away, “let me go.”

“Never. You belong to me. I own you.”

Karina didn’t stop, and Winter couldn’t handle it. She was a moaning and sobbing mess, and only when her climax started building up, hitting her so hard, did her body finally still, and stop fighting Karina. Not a moment later, with one last hard thrust, Karina came inside of her.

Winter shuddered underneath her, breathing heavy and ragged. A soft kiss I pressed against her tear stained cheek, before Karina rolled off to the side.

“Come here,” Karina’s voice sounds gruff, but soft, and Winter almost lets herself reach for her, like how the old her would have, but once everything settles, and she feels the ache between her legs, she breaks into a painful sob.

I hate you .” Winter wanted to scream it, but it only came out as a painful whisper, and Karina thinks it pierced through her heart harder that way.

Winter immediately gets off the bed, running to the bathroom, and shutting the door hard after hearing heavy footsteps chasing after her.

“Minjeong.” Karina’s voice was muffled behind the door as she called for her.

She doesn’t waste a second and goes under the shower, not caring if it was too cold or too hot, Winter couldn’t feel anything anyway. She roughly scrubbed at her body, as she fought to breathe through her sobs.

She was back. Winter was back in hell.

The door to the shower was slid open, and Winter shakes from the cold air that puffed through from outside the room. Karina catches her hands that were breaking through her skin the harder she scrubbed, pinning them against the marble wall of the shower.

“You don’t walk away from me. Ever.” Karina grits angrily.

Winter closes her eyes, turning her head to the side. She refused to look at her. She couldn’t.

“Please,” Winter says through clenched teeth, “just leave me alone. Let me go, Karina. Please.”

Karina’s grip tightened, “never. You belong here. With me. You’re made for me.”

That made Winter angry. She thrashes, finally opening her eyes to glare at the woman in front of her, but once she lays her eyes on her, all the hateful things she wanted to say vanishes.

Winter stares at her. The way Karina’s eyebrows met in a scowl, angry. Hazel brown orbs that she used to love staring into for hours, as Karina told her sweet nothings. Plump lips, frowned; the ones she used to love kissing, the lips that gave her so much comfort at every touch.

She breaks down again, body going limp, and finally stops thrashing, as if her brain has finally settled the fact that she was stuck again.

“Don’t cry.” Karina demanded like she was ordering her. “Minjeong.”

Winter shakes her head, “I can’t be here. Not again. Karina, please—,”

“It’s Jimin.” Karina growls, voice rising.

Winter grunts, biting her lip hard to stop her cries. An attempt. She gives Karina a look of disdain, “fuck you.”

“You already did.” Karina smugly says, and Winter twists her wrist in her hold, wanting to punch her so bad.

“You raped me.”

“You asked me to take you. You said you wanted me.” Karina calmly says.

“I was asleep! I was dreaming, asshole.”

“About me fucking you. I was making your dreams come true, baby.”

She could punch her. Winter wants to. It would only anger the beast inside of Karina, but the urge was so strong. It didn’t come to mind that Karina was a very well trained person in combat, and could easily dodge, retaliate and kill her. All Winter saw was red.

“Why am I here, Karina?”

The latter blinks, “because you’re mine.”

That answer wasn’t good enough. It frustrates Winter. It didn’t make sense.

Winter doesn’t notice when her arms are dropped to her side, and Karina picks her up effortlessly. She’s seated onto the marbled bench built into the shower, and Winter suddenly feels numb everywhere.

She gets lost in her mind. It was racing, swirling with fears and denial. No, she wasn’t here again. Karina wasn’t here with her, she wasn’t touching her, and they most certainly did not have sex. This wasn’t real. This was another dream. A nightmare.

Winter closes her eyes shut, clenching her jaw so hard it started to hurt.

A hand cups the back of her neck, and fingers start to move up and down to soothe her. To calm her.

“Shh, you’re okay, baby.” The softness in Karina’s voice wakes her up from her denial, and it surprises Winter just how quickly the older woman can go from animalistic, to serenity in a blink of an eye. Karina was unpredictable, and that’s what scared Winter the most.

She was most definitely not okay.

She didn’t want to be here.

Fingers rake between her blonde hair, scratching at her scalp, and moving simultaneously with the caresses on her nape, and Winter feels her breathing start to calm down.

God, Winter hates how much Karina knows her.

She hears a squirting sound, and Winter realizes that Karina had started to shampoo her hair. She lets her, having no energy to retaliate anymore. Her body was exhausted, her mind was even more beat.

Winter lets Karina wash her, lets her hands roam over her. She couldn’t feel it anyway, she was too numb and in her own head to care.

Karina picks her up again when she’s done, drying her with a towel, and wrapping her up comfortably in a white robe. She sits her down in front of the vanity, drying her hair and even brushing it. Everything was soft, a change in Karina’s behavior after how rough she had handled Winter earlier.

Unpredictable, indeed.

Winter raises her gaze to land on Karina through the mirror. She tended to her, handling her with so much care and softness, that Winter could have been fooled. She could have naively believed that this was Jimin.

Her Jimin. The one she loved with no reservation, no qualm.

But she was naive, after all. Used to be. It took Winter four years of friendship, and three years of their romantic relationship to realize that Jimin and Karina were one person. The animalistic beast who killed and tortured , and her Jimin, were the same.

Just hidden.

But seeing Karina now, four years later, her aura was different. She was more tense, confident, possessing more power than anyone should; only this time, Karina wasn’t trying to hide it like before. She wore it proudly, and it scared Winter to her core.

There’s no telling what Karina could do with this demeanor. A lot seemed to have changed in four years. The older woman was colder, rougher. Karina felt familiar, but everything Winter knew was a lie. Everything she believed, had been a lie.

And yet, Winter still dreamt of Karina on most nights, since she left. Still missed her touch. She loathed her, despised Karina… but deep down, deep deep down, Winter knows she still loves her. And she tries so hard to deny it. To tell herself otherwise, because this isn’t what she wants. This isn’t the life that she wants.

“Don’t cry, my love.” Winter didn’t notice the tears running down her face, until she blinked out of her thoughts to see Karina kneeled in front of her, hazel brown eyes moving softly over her face.

A gentle thumb caresses over her cheek, and Winter reminds herself that Karina had always been gentle with her.

She won’t hurt you, Winter.

“I don’t like seeing you cry.” Karina brushes away her tears. “Don’t cry, Minjeong.” She tells her again.

“I can’t stop.” Winter whimpers out. “I don’t know how to.”

Karina collects her into her embrace, lifting her up and walking out of the bathroom, to the bed. When Winter feels the bed beneath her, she starts to panic, and struggle against her.

“I’m not going to do anything.” Karina assures her, holding her still.

Winter stops, pulling away from her, and curling up with her back towards Karina. Her space is invaded within seconds, strong arms gripping onto her waist, and being pulled back until Winter feels Karina’s warmth press up against her. She grunted in disapproval, and tried to get away from Karina. To no avail, Winter didn’t fight back too much this time. She was too exhausted.

“I missed you.” Karina nuzzles the back of her neck, as arms tighten around her.

Winter ignores the ache in her chest.

“Did you miss me?”

She wanted to laugh. “No. I left you.”

Karina stiffens against her, and a hand raises to her neck, tightening around it. “I’m never letting that happen again.” Her voice was dangerously low, and Winter desperately clutched onto the hand around her neck. “You can’t leave me, you’re mine.”

“K-Karina.” Winter wheezes.

“Are you sure you didn’t miss me, hm?”

Karina’s other hand travels downward, peeling her robe open to get to the wetness between Winter’s thighs.

Fuck. Winter cursed her body for reacting this way.

“Tell me, baby girl. How often do you dream about me fucking you?” Karina’s grip around her neck only loosens when she plunges two fingers into her.

“Ka-Karina,” Winter moans.

“It’s Jimin, baby. For you, it’s Jimin.” Karina reminds her softly this time.

“N-No,” Winter grunts, telling herself to push Karina away, but god, it felt so good.

“Say my name.” Karina’s grip around her neck tightens again, as she thrusts into her faster. Her fingers curl expertly, scratching at her walls deliciously.

“K-Karina,” Winter gasps, and the grip tightens in disapproval.

My name , Minjeong. Say it.”

The grip on her neck releases her, only for Karina’s hand to lower down to her clit to rub fast, tight circles, nearing her so close to ecstasy.

“Say it.” Karina growls in her ear.

“J-Jimin.” Winter’s voice pitches higher, and she explodes, releasing the tension throughout her body, as she comes hard on Karina’s hand.

“Are you sure you didn’t miss me?”

Winter pants, trying to catch her breath, before throwing the hand between her legs off of her. “Fuck you.”

Karina only chuckles, “you’re welcome to, baby. Anytime.”

Winter stands, tightening the white robe around her, and hugging herself for security. Not that it was any better. She felt completely bare under Karina’s gaze. She always had. Only this time, it bothered her.

“I want to see my sister, Karina.”

“Tomorrow.” Karina says, stretching her arm out towards her, “come here. Sleep.”

“I can’t sleep .” Winter says in disbelief, “where is my sister? Take me to her, Karina. Now.”

The older woman only blinks lazily at her. “You don’t demand things from me, sweetheart.”

“Karina.” Winter grunts.

“She’s downstairs.” She tells her. “I didn’t kill her, don’t worry. She’ll be breathing just fine tomorrow, so come here to me. Sleep.”

A shiver runs through Winter’s spine at the thought. “I want to see her.” She tells Karina again, this time pleadingly.

Karina stills on the bed, only gazing at Winter softly. She almost relaxes under that gaze, almost falters through her anger to stare back at Karina like she used to when they were younger.

“Karina.” She snaps herself out of her delusional revery. That’s not her Jimin. The version of the Yu Jimin she loved never existed.

“Come here to me, and maybe I’ll give you what you want.” Karina beckons for her lazily. Winter hesitates, she should know by now that Karina never kept her promises.

“Minjeong.” Karina calls for her impatiently, and Winter’s feet stagger back towards the bed. She hovers by the bed, fingers twisting nervously, an anxious habit she’s always had. Something Karina uses to read her like big bold block letters.

She hated just how much Karina knew her. Maybe even more than Winter knew herself.

Winter is pulled on top of Karina, strong arms wrapping around her. This used to be her safe place, in Karina’s arms, but now, she couldn’t be more scared for her life. She couldn’t keep up with Karina’s mood changes, she didn’t know what to expect.

She holds her breath, waiting for something to happen, but Karina looks up at her with furrowed eyebrows and tender eyes. “Please, Karina.” Her voice relays her exhaustion.

“Why do you keep calling me that?”

Winter blinks rapidly, “b-because t-that’s your name. I—, that’s what people call you.” Her hand unconsciously plays with a loose thread of the white robe that Karina wore. She was restless, she couldn’t keep still.

“People who I don’t give a shit about call me that. People who don’t know me call me that. That’s not you.” Karina tells her.

Winter frowns, “I don’t know you.”

“It’s me, baby. Jimin. Your Jimin. Yours.” Karina nuzzles her nose, connecting their foreheads softly, and pulling her in closer.

Winter closes her eyes, trembling like a leaf against her. She shakes her head, “Karina, please.”

“It’s Jimin .” Karina persists angrily. “Say it.”

“No.” Winter whimpers, refusing to. It pained her to even say her name. The name that she loved.

“Tell me you love me, Minjeong.”

Winter struggles to get off of her, and she doesn’t even know why she tries knowing Karina is much stronger than she’ll ever be, but she was desperate to get away.

“I don’t love you. I hate you . You hurt me.”

Winter refuses to acknowledge the flash of hurt through hazel brown eyes, before it’s blinked away and turned to rage. Karina doesn’t deserve to feel hurt by her words, she’s the reason why Winter left in the first place.

“I’ll make you love me again. We’re binded, baby. We’re made for each other.” Karina threads her fingers through her blonde locks, gripping it tight and pulling her head back, so that their eyes could meet.

“You’re fucking psychotic.” Winter hisses.

“You make me crazy, baby.” Karina nips at her bottom lip harshly, “you do this to me.”

“Please, Karina. Just let me go.”

“Never.”

Winter groans in frustration, “why? You can literally have anyone . I am nothing . There’s nothing special about me.”

The grip on her hair tightens, and Winter grunts. “Don’t you ever say that. You’re everything to me. You’re so special, Minjeong.”

Karina lets her grip go to cradle Winter’s tear stained face. “I’m not letting you go again. I’m not gonna take you for granted.” Winter didn’t believe anything that came out of her mouth.

“I hate you.” Winter whispers callously.

Karina ignores the stab at her heart.

“I love you, with all that I am.”
