Chapter Text
Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, and Anakin let out a sigh of relief in unison as the door to their quarters at the temple closed. They were finally back home on their first week of leave since... Ahsoka doesn’t know how long. She's relieved to be sleeping in her actual bedroom. Her quarters on the resolute are nice, but the bunk on the cruiser with it's GAR issued blanket just isn't as comfy as an actual bed with a nest of pillows and blankets that smell like home.
“I’m going to take the longest nap of my life,” Ahsoka said, kicking off her boots next to her masters that are already in a heap by the door, having been off before it even finished closing.
Obi-Wan let out a chuckle. “Not too long, young one, you don’t want to mess with your sleep cycle.”
“Yes master.” she said with a fond roll of her eyes.
“Hey!” Anakin said from the kitchen, a where he was already digging around for snacks. “How come when I say something like that it’s all ‘oh don’t be so dramatic Anakin’ but when she does it it’s fine.”
"don't be dramatic," Obi-Wan says hanging up his cloak.
"exactly my point!" Anakin exclaimed.
"and don't stand with the conservator door open." Obi-Wan finished, not even acknowledging Anakin"s comment. Anakin closed the conservator door with a huff.
“I'm master Obi-Wans favorite” she said in a singsong tone of voice.
"yeah right!" Anakin said flopping on the couch with little grace, making his former master shake his head. "I'm his padawan so I'm his favorite!"
"what happened to Mr. Anakin 'not your padawan anymore Obi-Wan' Skywalker hmm?" she said with a cross of her arms and a touch of that snippiness she was nicknamed after.
"younglings," Obi-Wan interrupted, coming to the couch where Anakin scooched over so they could both sit. "I don't do favorites, I love both my padawans equally." he said sitting down. Ahsoka and Anakin met eyes with matching smiles at this
"sure thing master." she said on her way to her room. Closing the door, she dropped her bag on the floor and collapsed onto her bed not even bothering with the covers and fell asleep.
Hours later, Ahsoka was rudely awoken from her nap by the sounds of her masters arguing. She sighed and rolled over. “What can they be arguing about now?” she muttered. Now, it wasn’t unusual for her masters to bicker, she found it entertaining most of the time even. Cody, Rex, and herself had a bet every time they did campaigns together on how many times Obi-Wan would sigh her masters name. Cody always wins. Ahsoka's positive he cheats. But right now they weren't on a mission and her sleep was being interrupted. She she was not happy about that.
She was looking forward to taking a nice long nap then having a quiet evening. Clearly her masters didn’t have the same idea. She contemplated trying to go back to sleep but decided that would be useless when she heard a rather loud yell from her master through the door. She supposed she was hungry anyway.
With another sigh, she got out of bed and stretched, the sound of her joints cracking making her wince. She sounds like Obi-Wan when he gets up from sitting for too long. Ahsoka shook that thought from her head. I am not old.
As she neared the door she could hear more of her two master's argument.
“Come now Anakin, you're acting like a child.”
“I am not acting like a child Obi-Wan! I'm serious!”
Obi-Wan’s reply was cut off by Ahsoka coming out of her room. “This better be good because I was enjoying my nap.” she said hands on her hips.
“Now look what you did Anakin, you woke Ahsoka up.”
“ I woke her up? If anyone woke her up it was you not me!”
“It was both of you. Now, does anyone want to tell me what this is about?”
“It’s nothing,” Obi-Wan said, putting the kettle on to make tea, “Anakins just being dramatic”
Anakin glared at him crossing his arms. “Snips, pack your things we’re moving.” That caused Ahsoka to raise an eyebrow. here we go she thought.
“And why exactly are we moving master?”
“because!” Anakin exclaimed, “I can’t live with the person that ruined my life!”
At that Obi-Wan rolled his eyes so hard Ahsoka's surprised they didn't fall out of his head. “For force sake Anakin,” he said exasperated, “I’ll get more ice cream in the morning.”
Ahsoka stopped. This is what they're arguing about? Ice cream? Of course they were.
She held up a hand before Anakin could respond. “Nope. I am not dealing with this.” she said. Snack completely forgotten, she turned around and went back into her room, leaving the two of them to figure things out.
Flopping into bed, she closed the door with a wave of her hand. She deserved a ''frivolous use of the force'' after that, thank you very much.
I wonder if Barris would let me spend the night? She thought as she put her pillow over her head to block out the sound of Anakin's voice coming through her door yet again.
"force help me," she muttered covering up with a blanket. "this is going to be a long night"
The next morning Ahsoka smiled upon seeing the extra large tub of ice cream in the freezer.
