It is one of these days when Peter felt actually good. Flash didn’t bother him too much at school, his patrol after school was uneventful, he was given two churros by an old lady (they were really tasty), and now he was going to watch baseball with Ned and Mr. Stark. Yes, you heard correctly- he was really surprised when Mr. Stark asked him to go.
“Well, officially, it’s within the confines of your internship to go with me to different events, between us I was given the tickets and I really need to go out somewhere sometimes,” Mr. Stark said cheerfully.
“Are you sure you wanna go with me? I-I mean, it would be nice but I’m not sure I’m the best person to go with-” Peter started rambling.
“Pete,” Mr. Stark smiled slightly, “of course I want to. I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t. Besides, you can take Ted with us, I’ve got 3 tickets, and maybe he would stop being so nervous around me.”
“It’s Ned Mr. Stark,” Peter said while rolling his eyes, “I’ll ask him but I think he’ll be over the moon.”
“Who wouldn’t? Okay, come here,” Mr. Stark said, “We still have some codes to write to this robot.”
Ned was much more than over the moon when he was asked to go with Peter and freaking Iron Man to that game.
“Are you kidding me?!” He screamed, “Of course I do!”
“Ned, not that loud! I really don’t wanna get a sensory overload today,” Peter said.
“Sorry dude, you know I’m just really excited,” Ned smiled apologetically.
“Parker! Leeds! Stop talking!” Coach Wilson said loudly.
“Sorry,” They answered sheepishly. At least no one bothered to listen to their conversation during their gym class.

“Alright, kiddos! We’re here!” Mr. Stark announced.
He was wearing his usual undercover cap and shades, dark blue hoodie, and jeans. Peter wasn’t certain if it was good enough to be unnoticed but he was sure that Mr. Stark knew what he was doing.
He himself was also wearing a red hoodie but also he was going straight after his patrol, so he didn’t have time to take off his Spider-Man suit, which he was wearing under his normal clothes. Ned on the other hand was wearing a gray T-shirt and a black cap.
They went to the stands. There were lots of people waiting for the start of the game. You could feel the excitement in the air.
Ned and Peter were so deep into the game- they cheered whenever their chosen team was scoring a point. Tony was glad he took them with him. He had planned it a long time ago to take them somewhere, he just loved that big smile on Peter’s face- it could cure all the diseases in the world.
They even took a selfie together- Peter as the photographer (with a huge smile on his face), Ned smiling wildly, and Tony making a stupid face. Peter was more than happy to use that photo as phone wallpaper.
Finally, it was time for a short break. Tony had to call May and tell her a short report that they were safe and sound (after the Vulture fiasco May insisted that Tony would inform her about everything if it had to do something with her nephew. She was almost as intimidating as Pepper and that was scary enough, so Tony decided to obey without any hesitation).
“Okay boys, I have to make a quick call, I’ll be back in a few minutes. Stay there, okay? It’s an order,” Tony said, “And don’t do anything stupid,” he looked at Peter.
“Me? Never,” Peter said innocently. Tony just rolled his eyes.
“You always find a way to find danger,” Tony pointed out.
“It’s more like the danger always finds Peter,” Ned said.
“Ned, why-”
“He’s right, Pete. Just stay there,” Tony ordered.
“Yessir,” Peter saluted to his mentor. Tony just shook his head and went away.
Everything was going fine.
Until it wasn’t.
See, Ned and Peter were laughing at a meme they saw when Peter felt a tingling on his neck. His Spidey Sense was warning him. Peter looked around to see a potential danger. Ned rapidly saw on his friend’s face that something was off.
“Peter? What’s happening?” He asked nervously.
“I don’t know, I don’t see anything wro-” Peter suddenly turned his head to the place where something was about to fall from high height.
“Is that... a cat?” Ned asked. You could hear a shock in his voice. “Why is there the cat?”
“Shit, I have to do something, I can’t let this poor cat fall!” Peter said with determination. Maybe that was reckless but he was the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. He helped everyone in need. It didn’t matter if it was an old lady who couldn’t cross the street, a woman being mugged in an alley, or a trapped cat on a tree. He was there for everyone, without any exceptions.
People were filming that situation. You could see that there were even a few people who wanted to use a flag to catch that poor cat.
Peter decided it was time for Spidey to show up. He told Ned to stay where he was while he quickly left the stands to put on his mask.
He quickly came back to evaluate the situation. It was so much worse! The cat was hanging from the end of the big poster and everyone was screaming.
Peter shoot his web between two columns, so now there was some kind of a hammock. The cat was hanging on his one paw. There was a short shock between people. After one second they realized what that web meant. They started to look around to see that their Spider-Man came to the rescue. They started cheering at the same time when Peter decided to jump on one of the columns to get that cat.
The cat finally fell into the web hammock. Peter quickly grabbed it and fell down on the chair. He gave the cat to a random person and ran away in order to go back to Ned as if nothing happened.
People were scanding “SPIDEY! SPIDEY!”. It was amazing.
Peter came back to Ned just in time because he saw his annoyed mentor coming to them.
“I was gone for like 5 minutes and when I’m back, I am hearing people screaming your alter ego’s name. What did I miss?” Tony asked. He looked so done with his life at that moment.
“Well… I think you might find out pretty soon on social media,” Peter said proudly with a sheepish smile.
“Kid, you know you’re giving me gray hair,” Stark sighed.
“Like you didn’t have them before, Mr. Stark,” Peter said teasingly.
“Oh, you little shi-” Tony started when Ned came to rescue and said, “Finally the players are coming out!”
‘Thank you’ Peter mouthed to Ned. Ned just smiled and the three of them started paying attention to the game.
After that memorable game, there were lots of posts and videos of Spider-Man rescuing the cat during a short break in the game. Let just say that #Spideywithacat had been trending for almost two weeks.
