Chapter Text
It started off as a normal day, but little did anybody know that it was soon to become the worst day of a certain little girl's life.
Andesa Dovebruk was very happy. She had been looking forward to this day for months. It was her and her twin brother Lytari's name day. It was supposed to be the best day of the year according to their parents, but that was silly because everyday they were alive was the best of the year, so how could this one be any different from normal? Maybe they have to say that because they are parents, yeah that's probably what is is... She thought to herself. But maybe her parents were right, maybe today would be a special day. As Andesa was thinking to herself, she got distracted from her thoughts when she saw her older brother by 5 minutes, a fact that he never let her forget. He hadn't noticed her yet, so she decided to do the nice, sisterly thing and sneak up on him. As she got closer, he noticed her reflection from the plate. "Hello little sister, trying to sneak up on me again?"
"Awwww Tari how'd you see me this time?"
"You need to pay more attention to the surfaces surrounding the person you want to sneak up on. I saw you because of the reflection you created on this plate. But you did much better this time, I almost didn't see you. If I hadn't lifted the plate at that exact moment, you probably would have successfully snuck up on me. Good job Desa!" He exclaimed. They started walking together, so they could go see what their parents were up to. As they were walking, they did not notice the eyes twinkling at them from the trees planning for the way the family of the traitors would all die. Before Lytari and Andesa could make it to their parents room, Lytari felt very worried all of a sudden, and looked back towards the trees and saw the twinkling eyes that spoke of malicious intent. He turned back around and whispered "Andesa, listen to me. It is very important that you do exactly as I say right now. OK?"
"Why, what's wrong Tari?" Andesa whispered worriedly
"There is someone watching us from the trees, and I fear they mean to harm us. So, I need you to listen to exactly what I say, ok Desa?"
"O-OK" She whimpered.
"Don't turn around, go straight to mother and father to alert them of the situation, and if it comes to it. I need you to fight to protect mother because she is pregnant again. OK Desa?"
She nodded fiercely with sudden determination that seemed to have sprung out of nowhere. Andesa then rushed off to find her parents, as she got closer to their room, she saw some blood splattered on the floor and the walls, there was even some on the ceiling. She started to get really scared, and started to think about all of the horrible things that could have happened to them. Andesa broke out into a run and sprinted the rest of the way to her parents, following the blood. However, nothing that she had imagined could have ever prepared her for what she was going to see in their room.
When Andesa arrived at the door to her parents room, she saw that the door was absolutely drenched in blood, and she was afraid of what would be found in the room where her parents lay. Andesa finally gathered up the courage to open the door, and was immediately greeted with the stench of fresh blood and death. First, she found her father. Well, most of him anyway. She found his head and torso, but his arms and legs were missing. His throat was torn open so badly that his head was almost unconnected to his body. After Andesa saw the state her father was in, she immediately started to gag and heave up what was left of her breakfast, however the worst was yet to come. After she finally recovered herself enough to look around, she found her mom, and the emotions Andesa was feeling finally caught up to her, and she started to cry. Her mom was cut deep in many places, but the worst part was her stomach. Her mom's stomach had been cut open, and the baby had been pulled out of her belly and cut to pieces. As Andesa was crying, she saw that somehow her mother was still alive, and moving. Her mother was whispering her and her brother's names over and over. Andesa moved closer to her mother in order to understand what she was saying. "Andesa, Lytari, my baby. I'm sorry" She was saying that over and over. When Andesa moved closer, her mother started to cry. "I'm sorry, please don't hurt my babies. They don't know anything!!!"
"It's me mama. It's Andesa..."
"Andesa, my baby... I'm so sorry this has happened. Please, listen to me... You must run away from here with your brother. As fast as you can, these people are monsters, and they will not hesitate to harm you..."
"But mama... I can't leave you!"
"You have to, they will kill you if you stay. Run, far away from here and never come back!!!! Promise me!!!!"
"O-OK mama, I promise. I'll get Tari and run away forever."
"That's my... good... girl........" And with that Andesa's mom died, leaving her daughter alone sobbing into her body that was slowly growing colder. After Andesa puled herself into a semi reasonable state, she went to go find her brother. However, when she went back to where she last saw him, he was no longer there. So, she went into the forest to go look for him. After walking around for a little while, she spotted blood on some leaves, and broke into a run to follow the blood. The blood led to a clearing, and what she saw at the edge or the clearing made her go silent. What she saw was her brother, hanging from a tree naked, and the word traitors cut into his stomach. After Andesa witnessed this, she ran away from the clearing blindly into the woods, sobbing wordlessly. She swore to herself that she would not speak a word unless she found another person to love and care for as family.
Andesa was not seen or heard from for 15 years
