Work Text:
Tomioka Giyuu was the aloof mystery that took over the halls of Kimetsu Academy. No one knew anything about the raven-haired man, his life seemed to only consist of enforcing rules and abusing the poor students of the academy.
But all mysteries need solving, and Giyuu was one that you needed to crack.
Your strange fascination began two months prior, dawning the anniversary of your first year working as a chemistry teacher at the academy. Whether Shinobu had meant to keep it a secret or not, the party the rest of the faculty had been planning wasn’t exactly a secret. The hushed whispers when you entered the staff room hadn’t been exactly secretive.
A heavy hand smacked your shoulder suddenly, causing you to jump at the feeling, almost dropping your bento.
“Why hello my favourite teacher!” The rambunctious history teacher belted, flashing you a blinding smile accompanied by a piercing gaze. Although you had been working here for almost a year, you had never gotten accustomed to Kyoujurous greetings.
Flashing him a smile and a greeting in return, you headed to your typical spot at the lunch table that you shared with the others, Kyoujurou following to his spot. You greeted the other seven teachers that sat, finally being able to dig into the precious bento you had packed early this morning.
Apparently, Mitsuri hadn’t heard your greeting, furiously eating a frightening amount of ramen.
“Why isn’t Tomioka-san coming to the party! That lame-ass!” Mitsuri groaned, seeking comfort in the mountains of noodles that lay ahead of her.
Silence crept over the table, and you could feel the icy gazes that were targeted at the oblivious home ec teacher. Shinobu’s hand darted out of nowhere , smacking the sakura haired teacher in the forehead, releasing a high pitched squeak from her.
“What party are you talking about? Are you feeling okay Mitsuri-chan?” Obanai fussed, toddling over Mitsuri checking her over with obvious affection.
Across the table, Sanemi was devouring a delicious looking ohagi, veins popping out of his forehead.
“That shithead doesn’t even have a brain, he ignores all of us and it pisses me off.”
“Tomioka-san is proud of his work and works very hard! I admire his tenacious ability to enforce the rules!” Kyojurou boomed, not seemingly understanding the conversation.
“There’s a party? Why has no one told me about this?” Muichiro pondered, his mind already drifting off westward.
“My dear Muichiro-san, it will be the most flamboyant party you will ever bear witness to! Everyone must come to see the sheer flamboyance I will bring to it! I will flamboyantly drag dear Tomioka-san myself if needed!” Tengen proclaimed, his hand to his heart as if he had just addressed the nation.
You could feel Shinobu’s anger radiating off her as you ate your bento in silence, her aura almost deadly. Gently you laid your hand on hers, offering a sympathetic smile.
“It's alright Shinobu-san, I’ve known for a while now,” you offered, “It’s alright if Tomioka-san won’t come, as long as everyone is here it will be fine.”
“Won’t come to what.”
Everyone at the staff table fell bone still (except for Muichriou as he was still daydreaming). You slowly turned around to see the person whose voice it belonged to, already knowing who it was.
Tomioka Giyuu stared back at your eyes, his sapphire gaze piercing into your soul. The gym teacher crossed his arms, glaring at you for what felt like an eternity, then moving his gaze to stare down the others at the table.
The normally rowdy table was somehow silenced by his gaze, only Sanemi daring to break the silence.
“Well well well, the fucker finally decided to show up,” Sanemi sneered.
“Well if no one will be answering my question, I’ll be off,” Giyuu waved, somehow already out of the door.
Not knowing what compelled you, you shot out of your chair, abandoning your half-eaten bento and the others. Somehow, your feet carried to halfway down the hallway, your breath coming out in little puffs trying to catch up to him.
“W-wait, Tomioka-san!”
Surprisingly, the gym teacher stopped in his tracks, and you accidentally bumped into him. Looking up you quickly apologized, hoping he wouldn’t see the pink that was creeping onto your ears.
Giyuu was a man of few words, and he was most definitely fitting that personality as of now. Since your run-in, he had spoken no words.
“Tomioka-san, would you like to come to the party the others are throwing? It’s supposed to be a surprise party for my birthday, but they kind of ruined the surprise,” you chuckled, trying to even out your breathing.
You didn’t expect much from Giyuu honestly, thinking that the stoic man would have denied your request by now. You had known this man for almost a year already, but the only thing that you seemed to know about him was that he was unapproachable and cold, hitting students with his bokken if they didn’t participate in his gruelling classes or went against the rules. You knew how tough he was with his students, as some of them were in your class after his. Poor Zenitsu and Tanjirou, your two favourite students always looked halfway to hell and you would always try to comfort them from the pain with chemistry jokes.
You were knocked out of your thoughts by a flick to your forehead, the pain blossoming resulting in a yelp from you.
“What was that for?”
“Why do you want me to come to your party?” Giyuus stare was heavier than ever.
“Because it would be nicer if you came!” You smiled, much to Giyuus shock. He stared back at you, his face was a slate of confusion.
“Tomioka-san, why don’t you come with the rest of us at lunch as well?”
Mentally you berated yourself, why would he ever want to come to your party and sit with the others at lunch? You felt as if you were asking too much of him and he would never speak to you again, not that he did speak to you much in the first place.
“I’ll come to your party but I can’t promise I’ll eat with you.”
Blinking, you stared at the man who had already turned around and wandered off to wherever the hell he goes during his lunch break. You didn’t expect him to talk to you, never mind agree with you. That one moment was probably the most words ever exchanged between you two ever since you started working here.
Glancing down at your watch, you headed back to the staff room, unconsciously smiling all the way there. At the door, Shinobu and Mitsuri greeted you, confused expressions dotting their faces.
“What was that about?” Shinobu asked as you entered.
“I got Tomioka-san to come to the party!” you answered, enjoying the shocked expressions that appeared. You wouldn’t tell them of your lunch invitation as it was still technically unanswered.
“Whaa! Now I can bake for even more people!” Mitsuri giggled, skipping off to her spot beside Obanai.
Shinobu stared at you in disbelief, before chuckling, walking back to the staff table. Unbeknownst to you, a smile plastered your face, and the idea of Tomioka-san being at your party brought an unknown emotion to you.
The next day, you arrived at the lunch table first, and the rest of your friends piled in slowly. You kept your gaze on the door, secretly hoping that the ebony-haired teacher would walk through the door and sit with everyone. But you could only dream, knowing that the chance of him joining you and the others was extremely low.
Everyone had taken their usual seats at the table, conversation steadily flowing, the usual banter being thrown across the table. You gazed at each of your friends, glad that you had met everyone here. Mitsuri and Obanai bantered playfully across from you, their love for each other evident, and probably already dating, even though they thought no one noticed. Sanemi and Kyoujuoru arguing, well mainly Sanemi arguing with the flame haired man. Laughing, you noticed the source of the argument, a red bean ohagi lay perched in Kyojurous mouth, him chewing away with a satisfied smile spreading across his face and Sanemis anger bursting forth, almost attacking him but he was restrained by Gyomei. Poor old Gyomei had been crying at some cute cat video that Muichiro was describing to him, and tears were still pouring down his face as he restrained Sanemi from biting Kyoujurous head off.
Boisterous laughter fell at your left, and you glanced at Tengen showing off his three wedding rings to Muichirou who seemed disinterested. The fact that Tengen had three wives still baffled you, with the legality of it and the three women who were crazy enough to fall for the flamboyant man at the forefront of your confusion.
Your life seemed idealistic, a great job, wonderful friends, and an apartment that you could afford, you couldn’t really hope for anything else.
Or could you?
As a logical child growing up, you always wanted to solve problems and mysteries, and the mystery gnawing at you at the moment was of Tomioka Giyuu. The only person you knew of that had something similar to a relationship with the man was Shinobu, but she seemed to just bully and berate the man every time their paths crossed. No one really knew anything about him. Sanemi one even joked that he lived his life in the attic of the school in a hall of bokken growling at anyone who approached him. Chuckling at the thought, you wondered if he even had a life outside of school.
You felt a small nudge at your ribs coming from your right. Looking over, Shinobu glanced at you with worry in her face.
“Are you okay? You haven’t touched your food or spoken much.”
“Yeah, just lost in thought,” you chuckled, nervously scratching your neck.
Shinobu flashed you a smile before her face changed in a flash, worry creeping up inside of you for her. But soon the reason for her worry was glaringly obvious.
The normally vacant seat beside you was filled by the man plaguing your thoughts, Giyuu.
The whole table fell into silence once again.
“Hey Tomioka-san, how are you?” You asked, quietly praying for a reply.
He looked at you, ocean eyes staring back at yours before nodding and digging into his own meal, stunning you.
“Tomioka-san, even if your words are little, you somehow always flamboyantly make an appearance every time you show up,” Tengen laughed.
“Who invited this little shit here? Damn Tomioka never shows up to stuff because he thinks he's all high and mighty and just waltz’s in whenever he fucking wants,” Sanemi snapped, fingers pointed as if he might stab Giyuus eyes out.
Giyuu just ate his food in peace, ignoring Sanemi's threats. But a question still hung over the table.
Who did invite Giyuu here?
You already knew the answer, pink coating your ears and you brushed your hair trying to cover them up inconspicuously.
You could feel everyone's stares next to you, pointing at Shinobu, but she shrugged them off.
“I didn’t invite him.”
You feel a poke on your left cheek, and your eyes travel to meet the mystery poker. A calloused finger that belonged to Giyuu probed your cheek, making you flush a pink colour. You prayed that no one would notice your sudden flush.
“She invited me here.” Giyuu poked at you, his curt response shocking the table back into silence. He resumed eating, unmoved by his actions. Slowly the table resumed, not back to its original state, but something else.
Hushed whispers came from Shinobu and Mitsuri, the two in an intense conversation, eyes flicking from you to Giyuu.
Shrugging them off, you resumed eating your bento. The man beside you still plaguing your thoughts. But you smiled as you shoved some rice into your mouth, as you were closer to cracking the mystery of Tomioka Giyuu.
All it needed was to be taken one step at a time.
Today was sunday, and you had decided that you would be relaxing today. Marking all these chemistry tests and filling in paperwork had left you mentally exhausted, and you felt as if you needed a day to recharge. Smoothing the last great job sticker on a test, you got up from your desk and stretched. Yes, shopping would be a way to get your mind off of things.
The party was in a month, and you had nothing to wear yet, so you decided to start there. Your fridge was also nearly empty, so a quick trip to the grocery store wouldn't cause any harm.
The walk to the subway was quick, and you enjoyed the nice spring weather you were having. The cherry blossoms had just bloomed, creating a beautiful effect along the pathway.
Albeit it was a Sunday, the subways were jam-packed and you managed to squeeze your body into the train. You accidentally bumped into a tall man while squeezing yourself in, and you mumbled an apology. The man turned around to see who had bumped into him, and your eyes widened at the sight.
Tomioka Giyuu stared at you, a shocked expression coating his features. The same expression probably painted your face at the moment, but before either of you could say anything, the train started suddenly, sending you flying.
Or so you thought.
A strong arm caught your petite frame, preventing you from falling flat on the other people surrounding you. Giyuu had managed to catch you while grasping onto the overhead handrail with his other hand.
This time you couldn’t hide the pink flush that spread across your face and you tucked your head into yourself trying to hide it. Unbeknownst to you, Giyuu thought you had been cuddling into you, and the same pink flush tipped Giyuus ears.
You didn’t notice how close the two of you had gotten as you had glanced up and his face was hairs width away from yours. You could feel his breath tickling your face.
After what felt like an eternity, you pulled away from Giyuus embrace to face him, praying that your face looked presentable. Glancing up at the normally stoic man, he was looking away from you, his face almost perpendicular to yours.
“Uh, Tomioka-san, sorry for bumping into you and all that.”
He finally turned his face to stare at you. By now you had guessed that along with living in the school attic, he probably spent his time just staring into mirrors.
“It's fine.”
Somehow those two words made you happy, and you couldn't prevent the smile that you beamed at him. You couldn’t tell if it was the trick of the eye, but you swore that the corners of his lips curled up a millimetre.
It turned out, Giyuu had also had the same idea to go shopping that day. At the same store. You thought the walk to the department store would be awkward, filled with silence. You couldn't even picture this man going out shopping in the first place. But you were wrong, well partly. The walk was surprisingly comfortable as if the two of you had been friends for years. It was quite quiet, with the only words exchanged coming from your lips, with occasional nod coming from Giyuu. It was… nice.
Once the two of you had reached the store, you had separated from each other, and you felt emptyish. Unknowingly, you had gotten used to his presence and it was soothing and enjoyable. Now that Giyuu wasn’t at your side, you felt lonely and lost, but you shook that feeling off. Going back to your objective.
The outfit you had picked out was casual enough for day to day wear, yet elegant enough for a party. You had chosen it because you knew the party would most likely end up with everyone going to a bar and getting wasted, so a fancy outfit wouldn’t really fit that.
Leaving the department store, you were surprised at the sight ahead of you. Giyuu was casually leaning against a tree, shopping bag in hand, checking his watch. Seeing him so normal felt weird, as you normally were told by Tanjioru and Zenitsu that he was a demon that was brutal. But the image in front of you was the exact opposite, it simply revealed a peaceful man.
“Hey Tomioka-san, what are you waiting for?” You called, heading over to him, waving your arm.
He turned his head at you, getting up from his leaning position to face you. But once he heard your words, his face turned blank, as if he himself didn’t even know why he was there in the first place.
You laughed at his expression, and he huffed in return.
“I’m going to the local grocery store, do you wanna join me?”
Once the words left your mouth you panicked. The two of you were barely friends, why were you inviting him to go do something so simple such as grocery shopping!
“Okay.”
You looked up at Giyuu, your face representing shock but you shook it off. The mystery of Giyuu was getting more and more confusing each moment.
The grocery shopping was quick, you had picked up an extra bag of rice, some pickles, eggs, deli meats, fish, and some fruits to keep you satisfied for the week. But while shopping, you noticed Giyuu lingered at the fish aisle, staring intensely at a salmon laying on the ice.
“Tomioka-san, why are you staring at the salmon so intensely?”
He turned to meet you briefly, but then resumed staring back at the fish with passion filling his eyes.
“Salmon daikon is my favorite dish,” he answered bluntly, continuing to stare at the salmon with passion.
You couldn’t stop yourself from giggling. The man that you thought had zero personality turned out to be a glutton for salmon daikon. You felt a small glare pierce the side of your head but you shook it off.
“Sir! I would like to buy this salmon please!” You waved over the salesman who instantly began packaging the fish.
Giyuu turned to stare at you as the man packaged the fish, his stare felt like daggers as if you had just taken away his precious loved one.
The man handed off the salmon to you and you thanked him, turning to the checkout.
“Why did you buy that salmon?”
You turned to smile at him.
“You’ll see.”
Your shopping day with Giyuu had come to an end, and to your surprise, you had really enjoyed it. Before you could say your goodbyes and head home, a lone cherry blossom fell on your forehead.
A gentle calloused handpicked it off your head, belonging to Giyuu. He picked it off so delicately, cradling it in his hands.
It was strange seeing him act so delicately, but also comforting and you smiled back at the man.
“Goodbye Tomioka-san.”
“Call me Giyuu.”
You stopped in your tracks, before resuming, a pink flush spreading across your face along with a bright smile.
“Goodbye Giyuu-san.”
His name left your lips so naturally and flowed like the wind. You smiled, waving your hand lazily at him before turning and heading off home.
Today was nice. No, it was much better than that. The mystery of Tomioka Giyuu was slowly being unravelled.
Unbeknownst to you, Giyuu was smiling at your form as you walked away from him. Carefully, he tucked the dainty cherry blossom in his pocket.
It was the next day and the day had just begun. You taught second and fourth period, so you could arrive at the academy later than most teachers. Walking through the hallways, a loud crash was heard at the classroom to your right. Peering into the little window, you saw Kyoujuoru dressed up as a samurai from the Edo period, with his students either dressed up as other samurai or peasants.
Laughing it off, you walked over to your classroom, pondering on how most of your coworkers weren’t fired yet. Preparing some paperwork, you began the day.
“Senseiiiii, can you please let us off early to lunch todayyyyyyy,” Zenitsu groaned, tears threatening to spill out of the poor boy's eyes. Tanjiro followed Zenitsu, bruises littering his body and in the same battered condition as his friend. The third friend of the trio, Inosuke followed in, his arm in a sling and wearing an eye patch. Other students that had arrived from Giyuus gym class flowed in their appearances a stark contrast to the other students that weren’t in his class first period.
“Oh my gosh! What happened!” You gassed, taking in their battered forms. You grabbed a bag off your desk that you had saved for occasions just for this.
“Tomioka-sensei pushed us really hard today, and Inosuke and Zenitsu were slacking so he brought out the bokken,” Tanjioru stated, wincing as he sat down. You could see the shudder of fear that went through Zenitsu and Inosuke as he mentioned Giyuu and his infamous bokken.
You smiled at the poor children. Giyuu the demon teacher was infamous to the students for his intense gym sessions, but the exercise definitely benefited the kids. You grabbed some lollies out of your bag and handed them to each of the three. They each thanked you, but Inosuke simply grunted, the poor boy.
“Sensei, are you friends with Tomioka-sensei?” Tanjirou asked while sucking on his Lollie.
“W-what makes you think that?” You stuttered. Your relationship with Giyuu was grey, and you didn’t know what you were to each other. But you did know that you were happier than ever.
“I was out with my sister yesterday and saw the two of you. Tomioka-sensei was smiling.”
To say that you were shocked was an understatement, but you were also quite flustered. Blush coated your cheeks and ears. You didn’t see Giyuu smiling, but then Tanjioru was also a very honest child. His cool facade was slowly unravelling, and the true Giyuu was coming out. And this aspect of Giyuu made you very happy.
“Tomioka-sensei was also very happy today for some reason,” Tanjioru pondered and you smiled.
“YOU CALL THAT HAPPY? WE JUST WITNESS HELL AND TOMIOKA-SENSEI WAS THE DEMON IN CHARGE!” Zenitsu wailed, lolly threatening to fall out of his grasp.
You gave the boy a head pat and walked back to your desk. The idea of Giyuu smiling left a feeling of warmth in you, and his happiness boosted your own.
The clues were coming together, there was not enough to piece together the puzzle, but enough to give you a true glimpse of Tomioka Giyuu.
By the time you had arrived at the staff room for lunch, nearly everyone was there. You greeted everyone with a smile as usual, sitting down at your usual spot next to Shinobu. Finally, the last teacher had joined, and Giyuu had sat down next to you as per usual. The idea of Giyuu sitting with everyone was now a norm and lunch began as usual.
“Hey, Giyuu-san!” You greeted smiling at him. This time, he greeted you with a half-smile.
The table had quieted down but wasn’t dead silent, so you continued on and grabbed your bento from your bag. But before you could even place it on the table, Shinobu grabbed your arm while grabbing Mitsuru's arm as well, and stormed out of the staff room much to everyone's concern.
Stumbling out into the hallway, Shinobu and Mitsuris stare pierced through your very soul.
“Umm, what's going on?” You asked nervously, scratching the back of your head in habit.
“Tomioka-san allows you to call him by his first name now??” Shinobu gaped.
“And he smiles at you?? The last time I spoke to him he nearly trampled me!” Mitsuri whined.
“Well, we have spent some time to-” Before you finished your sentence, the other two girls’ jaws fell open and a stream of words fell out.
“YOU ARE SECRETLY DATING AND YOU HAVEN’T TOLD ME?? HOW COULD YOU HAVE DONE THIS TO ME? ARE YOU MARRIED? DON’T TELL ME YOU’RE HIDING LITTLE TOMIOKA-SANS AT YOUR HOUSE!” Mitsuri cried, shaking your shoulders.
“WE’RE YOUR BEST FRIENDS AND THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT US? AND WHY ARE YOU DATING THAT BRAT? YOU DESERVE WAY BETTER?” Shinobu shouted, veins popping out of her head.
“Guys calm down!” You backed away from Mitsuri but the girl's gazes felt like ten thousand knives about to hit you.
“Giyuu and I ran into each other and decided to just hang out for the day! Nothing romantic at all!”
The two looked at each other, not believing any word that just came out of your lips.
“Ok, I believe that you aren’t dating Tomioka-san,” Shinobu sighed, “Yet.”
“There's definitely something between you two!” Mitsuri thrust a finger at you.
“Ok, ok, ok. I think I might have feelings for him but don’t you dare tell him!” The words left your lips and you couldn’t deny them. This moment made you realize that these hidden emotions that have been bubbling up finally reached the surface and popped. You never really wanted to admit it, but slowly you had fallen for the aloof man.
The two girls seemed satisfied with your answer, but you were afraid. Allowing you to head back to the staff room.
You didn’t really trust what the girls were going to do with this information, but you accepted that when you told them. Smiling, you headed back to the staff room, satisfied with the discovery you made.
By the time you had arrived at the staff room, the conversation had pipped up again, even Giyuu was chatting with Sanmei, or more like arguing.
Sitting in your spot you opened your bento, realizing you had packed an extra small one, Shit. Shinobu and Misturi were gonna die when they see this. But it was now or never, and you poked Giyuu in the shoulder.
“Hey Giyuu-san, remember the salmon?”
He nodded back at you, and he almost appeared cutesy.
“Well, you mentioned that you really enjoyed salmon daikon, so I made some for you.”
His eyes opened as wide as saucers and gently accepted the mini bento that held salmon daikon.
“Thank you,” he turned to you, and this time, he flashed a full smile at you.
You observed him as he gently grabbed his chopsticks and picked a piece off, bringing it up to his lips. If you weren’t so distracted by his lips you would have missed his reaction, but your mind caught up to your eyes and you saw him sigh.
He closed his eyes in bliss, a smile spreading across his face and you had never seen him so relaxed in your life. Shinobu caught on and nudged you hard in the ribs, causing you to hiss at the giggling woman.
But you had to admit, you wanted to cook for him again if that meant you would be able to see the pure bliss it brought him.
“Thank you, this is really good,” Giyuu turned to you, evidently happy. But his next action was what shocked you the most. He brought his chopsticks up to your mouth, full of salmon daikon.
“Try some.” He probed at your mouth and you had no choice but to accept his offer. Opening your mouth, you ate the salmon daikon, and holy hell you did well. Sucking the chopsticks off, you opened your mouth again, a soft moan escaping your mouth.
“Wow that was really good,” you sighed, staring off to see Giyuu. But instead, you saw the back of his head, his face turned away and retreating his chopsticks. You couldn’t see much of his ears due to his unruly hair, but you swore that the tips of his ears were a soft pink.
“Hey Giyuu-san, I was talking with some of my students and could you please be a bit easier on them? Poor Tanjioru, Zenitsu, and Inosuke looked like living hell when I saw them today,” you whined, poking his turned head.
“Fine, just for you,” he turned and smiled at you, and that was the moment when all the puzzle pieces were clicking.
Resuming eating your food, you felt a nudge at your side.
“I’ll be expecting to see those children soon~” Mitsuri smirked as she left, leaving you a blushing mess that Giyuu tried to comfort. This mystery was close to being solved now.
Today was the day of your “surprise” party. You had spent the day with Sanmei and Mitsuri. Shiobi forced Sanemi to distract me in her place, so you were left with the grumpy math teacher and the giddy home ecs teacher.
Mitsuri had decided that she really wanted to torture Sanemi for making fun of her an Obanai, so she had her eyes set on a spa day with the “girls”. You agreed, but Sanmei refused, growling at Mitsuri. But you had pleaded with him with your puppy eyes and he agreed, so the three of you were now getting a mani pedi.
“What the fuck do you think that you’re doing with that?” Sanmei shouted at the poor nail tech who approached him with a callus remover.
Maybe bringing Sanmei to a spa wasn’t the best idea.
But seeing Sanemi with pink acrylics was definitely worth it.
“Sanemi you have to come with me to the spa again sometime soon! You look positively lovely!” Mitsuri chirped, holding Sanemis hand and petting the acrylics.
“The fuck you think i'm going back into that hell hole again!” Sanemi roared, but you swore that the idea of returning definitely crossed his mind.
Turning the corner to your apartment, you couldn't help but feel giddy and anxious. Even knowing that there was a “surprise” party.
Entering the front doors and then the elevator up, Sanmei and Mitsuri were also giddy. It was truly a sight to see, a giddy Sanemi.
The three of you walked towards your door, and you carefully unlocked it, gently pushing open the white apartment door, adrenaline coursing through your veins.
Slowly entering, your eyes tried adjusting to the dark apartment, but before they could, a blinding light erupted.
“SURPRISE!!” Multiple voices yelled, the light blinding you as confetti rained down on you.
Somehow, someone thought it was a good idea for Kyoujuoru to handle the confetti cannons, and he began bursting them everywhere.
Tengen was, of course, dancing flamboyantly, allowing the confetti to fall all around him like a snow storm. Of course, he was soaking up all of the attention as if the party was just for him.
Muichiro seemed lost and ditzy, muttering to himself and wondering why he was here even though he could be sleeping.
Obanai decided that it was a good idea to bring his snake to the party, letting it loose in the rain of confetti.
Of course, in typical Gyomei fashion, he was crying. Prayers left his lips and mutterings of how wonderful life is flowed out of him.
Shinobu just ran up to you, hugging your body tightly whispering congratulations on surviving.
Sanemi smiled, something you thought you would never see.
Mitsuri was already devouring all of the food that was prepared, much to Shinobu's anger, and the two began chasing each other around the apartment.
Finally, your eyes met Giyuus, stark against the partygoers. He stood there awkwardly holding a present in his hands as his eyes met yours. Grinning, you approached the lone teacher.
“Hey, Giyuu! I’m glad you made it!” You yelled over the loud noise that everyone was making. He grinned, and the sight made you even happier.
Before working at Kimetsu Academy, you didn’t know that this much happiness existed. But everything was falling into place at the right time.
You decided that moment that you needed this man in your life, he wasn’t really a mystery, he was simply a piece of your life that you were missing. You leapt into his arms, embracing him. You could feel his shock, but he returned the embrace. You rested your head in the crook of his neck and breathed him in. The faint smell of wisteria met your nose, and you smiled as he pecked your cheek.
“I got you a gift,” Giyuu said, grabbing the gift and giving it to you, pulling away from you. “I got it while we were shopping together.”
Beaming, you carefully unravelled the bow and opened the delicate box, revealing a sapphire pendant laying in the middle.
“Giyuu… this is beautiful.”
He took the pendant out of your hands and gently laid it upon your clavicle, clasping it around your neck. A soft kiss landed on your collarbone and you sighed.
Turning around, you saw the pure gentleness in his eyes, and leaned in. He met you halfway, sealing in the night with a gentle kiss. It was soft and passionate, filled with his love for you. Pulling away, you breathed into his scent. Words didn’t need to be spoken between the two of you as you understood each other perfectly.
You leaned in for another kiss, met with searing heat, as he slipped his tongue in your mouth, shocking you. Before things could get too hasty, Mitsuri poked you as you pulled away, making you jump out of Giyuus embrace.
“Let's open presents!” She squealed before heading everyone else.
You could feel Giyuus anger at the strawberry lime haired women, but a gentle pec calmed him. Leading him towards the group, you smile.
Love was a foreign concept for you, the real mystery that you needed to solve. And it lead you to the answer to the mystery, Giyuu.
