Bakugo Katsuki is best friends with one of the best hackers in the business. Their friendship goes back to when they were in diapers, and he has been protecting him from anyone one that bullies him, due to his friends quirkless status.

Midoriya Izuku is one of Japans best hackers, known only as Deku. He is the third missing soulmate of Pro heroes Red Riot and Chargebolt, but he has never acknowledged them. He is also best friends with Pro Hero Ground Zero, and while he is grateful for his friend, he can't stand his over-protectiveness. Oh and did I mention no one knows he's quirkless, no that is except for Bakugo Katsuki.

Chapter Text

In a world of Quirks it's not hard to think that soulmates exist. Soulmate connections have long since predated quirks it started off as a soulmates having the same marks to identify each other, eventually it evolved into people able to communicate by drawing pictures on themselves, and then finally evolved into what it is today and that's being able to wright words on their skin and the other seeing it. Although the way of identifying your soulmate has change one thing has never changed and that's being able to feel your other half's pain, or halves in the case of people with multiple soulmates.

Izuku's soulmate connection appeared when he was 7, like most kids his age, and like most things in his life it came with pain. An older boy had been twisting his arm behind his back, the older boy calling him useless, quirkless, a waist of space, casing the younger to cry and let out loud wails of pain. Some kids were crowded around cheering the bully on while others 'enjoying the show' stood at a distance they deemed safe so that if an angry blond showed up they would be able to hightail it out of there with ease. Most kids that knew of how protective Bakugo was of Midoriya would swear he had a second quirk that allowed him to know when and where Midoriya was being hurt. And while it seemed like forever that  the older boy had Izuku pined to the ground arm twisted painfully behind his back, it was only a minute before Bakugo burst onto the scene with a battle cry and a flurry of explosions.

Once he was released from the bullies death grip Izuku curled up into a ball listening to the explosions and yelling, his eyes shut tight. Eventually the fight quieted and the only thing heard was Izuku's sobs. An unusually warm hand was placed on Izukus shoulder making him flinch,

"The Fuckwads are gone Zu." Bakugos rough voice whispered.

Bakugo impatiently waited for for the small green boy to uncurl, and when he finally did he was met with a muddy face filled with tears. Izuku cradled his injured arm closely to his body.

"Can I see?" Bakugo gestured to the arm that Izuku held onto. A few more tears fell from Izuku's eyes before trembling lips wailed out.

"It hurts Kaachan!"

"Well, then fucking let me see so I can take care of it."

The response wasn't explosive, it was said in a calm tone that Bakugo only used for Izuku. Hesitantly Izuku offered up his hurt, as Bakugo carefully inspected the arm he noticed something,

"Zu, when did you get your soulmate?"

"I have a soulmate?!" Pain forgotten the waterfall of tears stopped.

Bakugo's soulmate connection had come in two months ago, red and pink words had constantly littered the blonds arm since. Izuku had been writing on his arm every night since waiting for his.

Izuku excitedly looked at the red words that had been sprawled across his arm, it wasn't the same red as Bakugos. Bakugos red was a deep angry red, while the one on his arm seemed brighter and friendly. The writing was also different, Bakugos looked jagged and harsh yet the one on his arm, while messy, seemed smoother...

"Hey! My red isn't angry! Are you going to read it or just look at it?"

Izuku snapped his mouth shut, realizing he had been muttering. Finally reading the message on his arm

'Ow that hurt, are you okay?"

"I hurt them Kaachan," Izuku's lip started to quiver, eyes filling up with tears again.

"You didn't hurt them Zu, that bastard from earlier did. Here use my pen to wright them back," Bakugo's voice going from calm to angry back to calm, as he reached in to his pocket for the pen he carried around, his hand coming out covered in black ink holding a broken pen, "Fuck."

The mass of black in covering Bakugos hand was slowly turning red. Bakugo offered up his hand, the one not covered in ink, to Izuku

"Come on, lets go home and you can explain it to them, they'll understand." A soft smile played at Bakugos lips, though if anyone asks he doesn't smile.

Bakugo walked Izuku home before heading off to his house upon Izukus request when he realized how late it was getting. Izuku didn't want to get Bakugo in trouble for being out late.

"Mom!" Izuku called out, his voice tick from crying, but the sound echoed off the walls with no reply.

Izuku wandered into the kitchen to find a note

"Izuku, I got called into work, I'll be home late. Dinner is in the microwave for you to heat up. Love, Mom."

The pen that his mom had used to wright the note sat on the counter next to the note pad. Picking it up he got ready to finally wright to his soulmate, except it appeared there wasn't just one but two. Yellow words had appeared  below the original message.

'Yeah it really hurt, what did you do?"

'What do you mean what did I do? It wasn't me that go hurt.'

'Well I didn't get hurt'

'Well, if it wasn't you and It wasn't me who was it?'

'Maybe the pain is to let us know we can talk now?'

'Mama says that we could have a third.

'A third, wow I didn't know that was possible'

'Hello third person are you there'

"Hello pain buddy! What happened?'

'Hello?'

'Dude?'

Izuku barely registered the last few lines "pain buddy" he had caused both of them pain. He was weak, he was constantly getting hurt, he was quirkless. They would hate him, just like everyone else. He couldn't respond to them not now...  not ever.

They would be happier without him.

Notes:
