Majima hadn’t needed rest. Nishida had witnessed him stay awake for as long as four days at a time (unless Majima had snuck naps while Nishida had been sleeping, but Nishida trusted the hushed tone and awed eyes of the boys who told him that no, the boss had not slept, he had only flipped his tanto and leered and fidgeted and complained about the state of the modern idol industry).

I always default to thinking about the Majima Family in terms of wacky hijinks; it's easy to forget just how miserable working for Majima for decades would actually be. I like this author's Nishida fics because they present him not just as the silly put-upon saint but also as a thinking, feeling, sometimes angry and outright resentful human being.
Anyway, please give Nishida a raise.
