Nothing was supposed to matter outside of these four walls... Robby was supposed to be safe in here. He'd worked so hard to keep it all out, he'd never imagined it would walk right in.
“What brings you here today Mr.--” He couldn’t say his name, the word stuck in his throat like he was being choked again, those fingers never leaving his neck. They let him breathe only when he allowed it, suffocating his cry for help even still.

Robby blinked his eyes open, trying to remember when he'd dozed off. Then a small movement near his lap made him glance down.
His son was still curled up next to him. Robby's hands were still resting around his shoulder and in his hair. But the head in his lap was moving now. In small, careful motions.
