Summary
Despite Blackwell drama everyone was decently considerate of each other’s space. They knocked, doodled on nameplates, occasionally eavesdropped in the hallway, but never barged in rooms. And Max was shown the same respect, usually receiving knocks whenever someone needed her.
Not that she had many visitors. Most of these girls left her alone.
Except one. And Rachel Amber never knocked.
Or:
Five times Rachel didn’t knock and one time Max didn’t either.

Summary
No one could remember whose idea it was, or if there was ever a time before they knew they would eventually be killing themselves. Aubrey and Kel wanted to do it as soon as possible, all of them in the treehouse at once; but Hero forbid it, said the gate was only wide enough for one at a time. Mari agreed. They were the leaders, so that was that.
(The gang agrees to die together.)

Summary
Sunny never really understood the true feeling of the word ‘ache’.
At first, he thought it meant a pain that follows you around, shadowing you wherever you go. Mari’s death to him was an ache, a ghost that haunted every facet of his life, lurking in every dark corner whenever he turned around. The dictionary definition certainly backed that up, “a continuous or prolonged dull pain in a part of one's body.”
But perhaps not. Whenever he read books or comics, it was never used in that way.
See, the dictionary definition of ache spoke of pain. But, in the stories he read, it was always about longing. A pang of emptiness in your heart for someone who won’t turn around and look behind them to see you, standing there, waiting for them. Of yearning, hoping for someone you’d never have.
(Or: Sunny isn't forgiven. He attempts to move on regardless.)

Hajime looks at the black and white slides, takes in the way the plant grows uninhibited inside him. He presses a hand to his ribcage. It doesn’t even feel like there’s anything wrong.

Or, Hajime gets the Hanahaki disease.
Born from unrequited love, the patient throws up flowers and could suffocate if not treated. The infection can be removed through surgery, but the feelings disappear along with the petals.- Language:
