-Radio [Bershy] 0:24They sat silently at the edge of the library, nothing but the faint yellow glow of the lamp lighting up their face. Their face read no emotion, yet you were already nervous. Their left hand was resting neatly by their glasses, holding up their head, while their right was busy writing a massive amount of notes. Their eyes constantly shifted from the book that sat open next to them and their notebook, like a hummingbird darting between flowers.
You gently cleared your throat, and they slowly raised their gaze from their books to study you instead. Their eyes now darting around you, until they focused on your own. Their eyes are deliberate and dark, staring as if they could see right into your core being. The way they watched your everymove made you want to crawl out of your skin.

The man knelt down, becoming level with Jean, and he gently grasped his chin. Jean’s partially closed eyes met his when he lifted it. “I think you should really put some thought into it,” he suggested in a slow, imploring tone. “And have a different answer when I come back for you.”

Jean and Armin are captured by a Marleyan squadron under suspicion of Restorationist activity. They each endure a different form of torture and are changed forever by this short, traumatic event. It forces their friendship to evolve, their behavior to incite concern from their team, and for them to realize that if they're going to come away from this shared experience, they'll need to do so together.
Jearmin fans: you barely even need to squint for this to be pre-slash. I love intimate friendships and that's how I've written this.

Summary
Hange had been stuck inside this very cabin during a particularly heavy snowstorm and came eye to eye with wolves, they had taught themself how to make cures and potions that would heal wounds, fits of persistent coughs, aches in one’s head that wouldn’t go away no matter what. They had lost their left eye after a bear attack, you learned; they still had the claw marks to show in their back, on their chest, their arms, which they were proud to brag about. In the flickering lights of the fireplace, you thought they looked a little bit strange, and a lot more beautiful.

Ouch.
Despite this being a Levi-centric fic, I can’t help but appreciate Hange’s characterization. They felt super in character almost the whole time, and it was super sad to see them struggling just as much as Levi, especially because it’s barely talked about in the fandom or even the canon material. Their fight also really hurt because it was so raw and the masks were off. You could really see both of their struggles at face value.
