Summary
So the bird had a bit of an attitude problem.
As expected, he was too prideful to simply let a human touch him, let alone pick him up. Getting him inside had been an hour-long task, involving chasing the animal around with a blanket and cooing at him in an attempt to earn his trust. Now that they were finally inside however, the little guy was prancing around as if he owned the place.
He hadn’t allowed Kaeya to take a look at the ring around his leg even after getting treats, nipping at his fingers any time he tried, but he also didn’t seem to be particularly upset about being here.
‘You remind me of someone, you know?’ Kaeya sighed as he observed the bird walking around. ‘Someone equally stubborn, and unwilling to accept help. Ah, you even share the tendency to lash out at people who care about you.’
The bird looked up at him almost as if somehow understanding the words, tilting his head and blinking curiously, which made Kaeya grin in amusement.
‘Let’s call you Noctua for now.’

Diluc noticed the two knights exchange a look. Both of them had nursed the same drink for the past thirty minutes. They weren't drunk.
Kaeya very clearly was.
Or, Kaeya gets far too drunk one night. Despite being estranged from one another, Diluc steps in.

Or, Kaeya pushes things too far in a drunken confrontation at Angel’s Share, provoking Diluc into a violent loss of control that leaves Kaeya seriously injured and Diluc arrested by the Knights of Favonius. Both are forced into isolation—Kaeya recovering in the Cathedral under Jean’s supervision, and Diluc detained in the Knights’ headquarters, drowning in guilt and unable to escape the memory of what he did.

"You know, working with the knights would give you the backup you so desperately need in these kinds of situations."
A cool blast of ice flew over his shoulder, immobilizing the pyrochurl that Diluc had been dutifully chucking water balloons at. The tactical advantage of elemental reactions should never be overlooked in battle, especially when one's giant flaming claymore has little effect if the opponent enjoys being on fire. Unfortunately, he'd now traded one tedious nuisance for a one that was much more volatile.
Kaeya pesters Diluc to come forward as the Darknight Hero, all while refusing to tell him why. Unsurprisingly, this backfires on him and Diluc takes great satisfaction in re-learning how to be a big brother.
While refusing to process that he still sees Kaeya as a brother.
All of this with a surprisingly polite Abyss Herald, excessive compliments and many water balloons.

Diluc dreads the day Kaeya and Venti learn of each other’s identities, so when Venti comes for a drink without his usual party, Diluc panics. Fearing for his brother’s safety, he begs his archon to not lay a hand on Kaeya, putting Venti in an awkward position.

Summary
Kaeya was pretty sure he’d learned how to cook before he had even learned how to read or write.
He vividly remembered watching his mother make things, her hands gentle but firm whenever she kneaded dough or mixed ingredients, a myriad of smells spreading through the kitchen as she worked. She’d let him help with simple tasks until he was old enough to help out for real; half the fun of eating a meal had been the satisfaction of making it together.
Then there was the time he’d spent with the Ragnvindrs, Adelinde so surprised at the fact he knew his way around a kitchen and even more so when she learned he wasn’t a picky eater, unlike some other kid she knew. Diluc claimed he could always tell when Kaeya had helped cook something because it tasted even better, and Kaeya would never forget the praise Crepus had given them for making a fancy birthday cake together.
He had liked cooking, once upon a time, but that felt like a lifetime ago now.
