Summary
Peter Parker. 16 years old. Recently emancipated from the foster system and moved into the dingy villa his deceased parents left him. Which apparently means he has to deal with various stray animals and human beings who keep choosing his house as their refuge. He is so unprepared for this shit.
And then stupid Tony Stark randomly decides to insert himself into Peter’s life, with his dad-sweaters and his boo-boo fixing and his casseroles.

It rains again during the night. Peter wakes up to brown-ringed water stains in the ceiling, and makes some much overdue calls. He skips his last few classes to be home in time for the lady from Happy Helmets to inspect his roof and give a rough price estimate of how much it will cost to fix it. “Replace part of the gutter. Fixing water damage. Replace some shingles. Patch leaks. We’d be sealing off any entry points, get rid of that raccoon problem for ya.” She slides a piece of paper his way.
“I was sort of hoping you could fix the roof in a – um – a raccoon-conserving way. Maybe leave them a little gap somewhere.”
She scoffs. Adult scoff a lot. At everything Peter does. He’s pretty sure it’s their main form of communication. “They are a pest, sir. They tear up trash cans. Carry parasites. I can give you the number for a pest control that could-”
Peter snatches the paper up and folds it in half. “Thank you for your advice.”

Post-NWH.
The Avengers haven’t been much of a group since they defeated Thanos, since a large fraction of the team died, retired, went AWOL or MIA. It’s mainly up to Sam and Bucky – with some help from a still recovering Tony – to catch the latest enhanced serial killer roaming the streets of New York.
Until a random college student from MIT named Peter Parker suddenly seems to have some answers.

Tony sounds agitated, to the point of almost being out of breath. “You said I talked about him. What sort of things— What did I say?” He is leaning forward in his chair. So far that Pepper has stuck one arm out, clearly afraid he might keel over at any moment.
“Stories. You know. Anecdotes. How you took him on the mission to Berlin and he insisted on visiting the ‘German Museum of Technology’ on his first evening there. How he one day built a completely functional solar powered robot lawn mower from scratch, but the next day almost set your workshop on fire because he tried to make a hot air balloon out of a paper bag and a cigarette lighter.” He falters, hesitates, and then adds: “You called him ‘your kid’. More than once.”
Pepper is gripping Tony’s arm.
