What can we do when we feel jealous of our fellow creators? I've got some thoughts on the topic, and I hope they might be helpful to others.

Summary
If there are authors or stories out there that you'd rather not ever see in your search results again, you can create a site skin to remove them from your browsing experience.
This was first explained in an AO3 News Post, but I'm going to go into more detail so that anyone with an account can do it, with no need to do any coding at all. Just copy/paste.

Useful CSS for readers by ao3commentoftheday, memorizingthedigitsofpi

Summary
This guide is two chapters long. Chapter One is some useful bits and pieces of CSS code that users who read on AO3 may find useful. This code only changes the way AO3 presents works to you, the reader. It does not change the way AO3 looks for anyone else.
Chapter Two provides instructions on how to create a site skin, if you've never made one before. It also contains instructions for how to combine site skins together, for example how to add the CSS code from Chapter One to the Reversi site skin for dark mode versions of the same functions.

Whether you're a new user who is overwhelmed by how AO3 works or whether you're someone trying to find that fic they loved so they can reread it again, I hope this work can assist you in your search!
Note: Please do not post your own work on AO3 asking for help finding a fic. That's against the Terms of Service for the site and it could end up with you getting a warning on your account. Even if you plan to delete it later, if your post gets reported you'll still get warned.

Reasons to post oneshots in a series instead of as chapters of a single work by ao3commentoftheday

Summary
If you’re an author who feels awkward or guilty about posting one shots as standalone fics instead of adding them as chapters to a single story, here are some reasons why readers love it when you post them one by one. I've also included reasons why authors might want to post them separately for their own benefit.

How to set up a bookmarklet that applies a saved set of filters to any works or bookmarks listing page on AO3
(Bookmarklets are a bit fiddly on mobile, but very much doable—and functional. Since I've done all the coding already, you can just follow the instructions without worrying about that. ;D)

Summary
a work skin that mimics the program Discord (for chatfics or fics that feature use of it!)
made this skin over a couple days; it won't look good on mobile or with creator's style disabled but the html is pretty easy to customise!
(Note: some folks in the comments have been kind enough to share some fixes for a few of the problems!)If you use it, crediting and linking back here so other people can find it is appreciated :)
EDIT: I haven't updated this in quite some time so I'm giving blanket permission for people to share their own fixed and improved versions of the code! Just link back here so people can find some help for how to use it. happy writing!
