“As you say – you do not collect picts of strange naked women, and neither do I.” He leans to the side just enough to not recline against her. “Van Halvek, what exactly is it that you are trying to do here?”
“I suppose trying not to be a strange woman. Naked or not. But I guess they don’t teach anything at Ordo Hereticus besides having a stick up one’s ass.” She rolls her eyes again.
“I would say that you are far from succeeding, seeing as I find your behavior very much strange.”

Cadets as well as commissars of any rank are expressly forbidden from engaging in behaviors that could be seen as endangering their position of Imperial authority. This explicitly includes excessive consumption of alcohol and that of Lho and its derivatives.

Summary
Now that Hark is officially a part of the Tanith, he’s made it a full time job trying to keep Gaunt from getting killed by imperial infighting. So when he sees Rawne stalk Gaunt down an isolated hallway, he decides it's a good idea to follow and make sure everyone stays in line. Rawne’s desire to kill Gaunt is infamous, even though Gaunt seems oblivious to it.
He ends up getting an eyeful of something he never expected. Something that will change his opinion of both Gaunt and Rawne completely. Something that nobody else will ever believe.
He fucking hates this job.

Aidan was a two-week old Ventrue fledgling with no hope, no future and no clue what he's gotten himself into. Siding with LaCroix had its consequences--ones that he was lucky to survive. Fortunately, the former Prince made it out of the fire with him, and now Aidan at least has a plan...and a Sire. Aidan's heard that Seattle's nice this time of year, and LaCroix's coming with him whether he likes it or not.
Meanwhile, Sebastian's got his own demons to fight, and a new throne to claim. The past isn't always content to stay in the past, however, and what's about to come around has been waiting for a long time.
