(Amalgamation of Manga, Trimax, and Stampede lore — Sequel to “Book of Ruth,” won’t make much sense unless you read it first)
After their time on Ship Three, Nicholas D. Wolfwood and Vash the Stampede find themselves with a new kind of relationship and with new goals: first, to meet up with the girls in December. After that? To track down both of their missing brothers. But when one of them is much closer than they thought, they find that to see themselves through to their tomorrows? They will have to address their yesterdays.
Keeping secrets only works so long— sooner or later, they will understand the writing on the wall… and everything will come crashing down.

Summary
The Z-Team is being sent on a short-term work trip. The only problem is that the destination is hours away… and the way carpooling ended up having Flambae, Prism, and Waterboy crammed into Robert’s shitty little Honda Civic… and whatever weird combination of flirting, bonding, and bullying each other is going on in the passenger seats. Not to mention Waterboy’s surprising taste in music.
This was going to be a long drive… especially when that work trip was to a conference being held by the Salt Lake City SDN— and considering how many PR nightmares they’d already caused? Things were only downhill from here.

Summary
One of the main characters - the only surviving witness to a murder - has just woken from a coma. Not only is she entirely cognizant, but the first thing that the subtitles say she asks for is a lawyer.
“What are you fucking giggling about?”
The other person that’s been paying attention is Flambae. He’s right next to Robert on the couch, his arm slung over the top behind his head. One foot is propped up on the other knee, also pointing towards Robert, which has him caged in the corner by the arm rest. It’s probably some fucked-up power move. Robert has been ignoring it just to spite him.
“It’s just not how comas work,” Robert shrugs.
“Right, and you know because you’re a fucking doctor,” Flambae quips back.
“I know because I was in one, asshole.”

During a quiet night in, Robert realizes that his coma and injuries aren't common knowledge among Z-Team.
Most of them take the information in stride with jokes aplenty.
Flambae does not.
