Summary
“What do I do then? Go back and wait until they kill me, too? How can I prove that I am telling the truth?” Merlin asked and looked Arthur deep in the eyes. He could tell that Arthur wanted to believe him. He saw compassion and care within these blue eyes.
But he also saw a duty too big for such young shoulders, a crown that barely fit his head and a responsibility that weighed him down. He was so young for the power he held and Merlin could tell, he could see and he believed with everything he was that Arthur intended to use that power for good.
Arthur, he decided, was a good man.

Arthur laughs with the other knights as Merlin serves them drinks and rolls his eyes in a half-bored, half-amused expression. “I’m actually an Alpha,” says the latter in a crystal clear voice, and the table immediately goes silent as Arthur’s ears feel strangely muffled and he believes -he is sure- that he has misunderstood. “What?” continues Merlin as all the knights’ eyes are on him. “Since I don’t wield a sword and can think clearly before picking a fight with anyone who passes me, I had to be an Omega? I don’t know whether to be flattered or offended.”
Merlin looks towards Arthur and gives him a wink.
Arthur looks at the plate in front of him without actually seeing it and finds himself no longer hungry.

“Is everything alright? You sound tense?” Merlin called across the house to him right as Arthur’s hand grabbed the bathroom door handle. He faltered, gripped the handle tight. Then, he took a deep breath and shouted back,
“I’m fine! Just a long day.”
When Merlin didn’t answer, he let out a breath of relief and yanked open the bathroom door. He slipped in and shut it behind him, locking the door. Arthur repeated his list in his mind again.
Take a shower, cool down, re-apply his scent masker, take a few breaths, go eat dinner, prepare his room for the next few days, go to bed. Avoid Merlin.
He could do it. How hard could it be?
Or
Arthur's been having a hard enough day as is. So, of course, naturally the next thing to happen is for his heat to come early.
Maybe that's not a bad thing at all, though.

Summary
When Merlin started his job as game designer at DragonVision, he was excited to join the team creating an RPG about the legends of King Arthur. Soon he was even dreaming about scenes from the legend, even if those were not part of the game. Or at least they weren't planned to be, but on each day after Merlin had a dream, scenes he programmed at work changed, resembling his dreams now. Instead of biting Merlin's head off, though, his creative director, Arthur, supported and encouraged him, even when Merlin's game scenes began to create a love story between the Once and Future King and his warlock.

Summary
A hand grasped his arm, sending a brief thrill down Merlin's nerves as he was forced around to face the person behind him. Armour gleamed in the firelight: supple chainmail glinted, and the solid iron of a pauldron curved lovingly over one broad shoulder. The length of a sword blade separated them. The point hovered, steady and sure, over Merlin's heart, braced to run him through, but he did not care about any of that. He was too busy drinking in the sight of the man before him.
He could never forget him, no matter how many centuries had passed.
'Arthur?'
When Merlin ultimately fails in his destiny, the fading remnants of magic that linger in the modern world fling him not just back in time, but sideways as well. He ends up in a Camelot where all his friends are alive, well and aware of his magic.
He ends up in a Camelot where his alternate self died almost a year ago.

Arthur doesn’t understand most of what she just said but nods anyway.
Squinting her eyes, she gauges his confusion regardlessly. “It’s someone pretending to be the famous sorcerer. See here, this is his most recent tweet.” At Arthur’s odd look, she clarifies, “It’s like a message that everyone can see.”
@asorcerersays: Guys why did he have to be so hot and like,,,funny? Like it’s been forever and I still miss him. He was pretty dumb though.
Arthur knows his face must look disgusted. “For everyone to see?”
