"I can come to you, if that's agreeable?" Mr Lan suggests. Wei Wuxian's studio is a bit rough and ready for customers, but Mr Lan is intriguing. It would indeed be agreeable if he visited. Wei Wuxian is trying not to be too agreeable, based on just a name and a voice nice enough to recite poetry.
"I doubt the tube will be kind on a painting, Mr Lan."

In London? Well shit, the guy is rich too.
Wei Wuxian leans back against the big table and looks towards the dark storeroom of art in back. Paintings wait in there for months because someone can't make up their mind, or they're trying to justify the expense.
And here is a man that knows what he wants. Fuck it, he thinks. Why not.

Art Restorer Wei Wuxian ends up with a very interesting portrait on his table.
His client, Lan Wangji, isn't keen on providing much detail, but the painting does quite a lot of talking on its own.

I’d just finished directing Adam and Steve on the furniture placement in the master bedroom, and we were just standing there, glazed over. Looking around at the remaining mess.
They were both so helpful in assisting my poor little fragile self. I’d promised pizza, beer, and my undying friendship in return. But for now, we were exhausted. And starving. And filthy.
That’s why it was so out of pocket when I looked over to them and offhandedly said, “I wonder who’ll christen the place with me first.”
