I don't write fics, but I read a lot. I've been addicted to fanfics since 2003-04.

I'm on FF.net under the same name. I'm bookmarking my all time favorite fics here, so in my case a bookmark is a rec.

 

What I look for in fics:

  • Longer fics, arcs, multiple chapters.
  • Drama.
  • Slow build and UST.
  • Dialogue.
  • M/M, M/F, F/F or threesomes.
  • Plot.
  • Realistic sex scenes.
  • Single POV.
  • Good characterisation.
  • Extensive vocabulary.

What I usually avoid:

  • Fics under 1000 words.
  • Gen-fics.
  • Death-fics.
  • Cliche sex scenes and PWPs.
  • Fluff.
  • Songfics.
  • OOC'ness without good reason.
  • Writers demanding reviews to continue writing.
  • Excessive angst.
  • A lot of fannish Japanese.
  • Spelling /grammar erros which make the story difficult to read.
  • Real person fics.

I'm not usually exclusive to any pairing in a fandom, but I do have my favorites:
