    I giggled nonstop at this.

Well, more relevant to 1400 people, more or less. Hee!

There are hippos here in the dark of discord I'm kind of astonished at how beautifully that scans.

Haha that beta section? I've been on both sides, and you speak truth. But I really lost it at the Winterblumensaat references. And still they write, and still the fans pursue, // That classic of the genre.

I mean, I want to quote the whole back thing at you, rickroll and all. It's brilliant and hilarious and from my perch on the mod team, almost painfully so. (It will be checked. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet // Do not post a placeholder. and, I put this footnote in so as to up the word count. That is the sole reason. I can do that, I'm the author. (seven more words right there in that previous sentence! heh heh) YOU SEE INTO MY TORTURED SOUL.) Well done!

I beta read this! I love the fairy-tale storytelling style, with the reminders that things don't happen as nicely and neatly as one might wish, and I love the theme of seeing nonhumans as people, contrasted with those who see some of their fellow humans as nonpersons.

This is great! You've captured the slang and casual sense of the original story really well, and I love all the little worldbuilding bits you've put together about what it's like to be an octo and how these crews work together. It was fun to see Arkae and Sheerluck again, with a scattering of OCs that come into their own and make it a fuller story, and the actual story was well done and fits very well in the 'verse. I really enjoyed this!
