Summary
Laura is struggling to find work in her field and she has an idea to get an interview that might finally get her foot in the door. Famous Producer Carmilla Karnstein has kept herself out of the limelight since the death of her wife. Despite repeated attempts to interview her on her successes, no one has really gotten close enough. With Carmilla's newest play gaining popularity, Laura hopes that she can finally get the woman to sit down for a proper interview.
Things are never as easy as she hopes they are, and with the threat of having to move back in with her father if she should fail, Laura accepts the deal that Carmilla offers. An interview traded for helping Carmilla with a staffing issue... a nanny for her children for only one night. Easy enough.

Carmilla hates Christmas.
That wasn’t always the case, though. She used to love it. But broken hearts tend to sour these kinds of things, and it was like pulling teeth for Will to get Carmilla to go with him to get a Christmas tree from the Hollis Tree Farm.

Summary
In the small town of Silas, NC, Laura lives with her father and works as a server with her friend Kirsch who is a bartender in a restaurant on the boardwalk which is owned by Lafontaine and their family called The Fresh Start. It is the beginning of summer break and everyone is back in training for their summer jobs. New to town are Carmilla and Will, two siblings who unbeknownst to anyone are actually demons, fallen angels who have been sent to Earth to create trouble. The only problem is the two angels, Danny and Perry, who have also been sent to Silas to investigate and correct the unbalance of peace and chaos created by the demons. Each side has their mission and sees nothing else, that is until they meet Laura. The dorky blonde seems to show everyone that the world isn't black and white, but instead one large shade of gray...

Then after three years of finally leaving her alone, Laura is in college and has had time to think, but apparently not enough, and Carmilla comes back with big news and Laura has to decide if her probable, most likely crush has turned into something more, or just her caring.
