    oh now Izuku knows what Aizawa was laughing about all those months ago, while Izuku watched on in the hallway. Because Izuku finally has a hell-class of his own.

    “I, I just don’t even know where to begin,” Izuku says, sipping on a cup of green tea. His nerves are too shot anymore for anything stronger.

    Shinsou groans into his own cup of black coffee. “We couldn’t have been that bad as students, could we?”

    Something that sounds awful like a snort comes from where Aizawa is napping in his sleeping bag.

    Or...Izuku learns the challenges of being a homeroom teacher to a hell class and Aizawa gets vindication.

    Nedzu is simply on a walk to meet one of his old students, because he's really quite sure that Shouta-kun would make a marvellous teacher, when a child runs into him.

    And it's a clever child, one with bright eyes who flinches at distant shouts, and, really, they are more of a pup than anything else, hunted, yet oh-so brilliant too. So what is Nedzu to do but to ensure their safety, and perhaps something longer term too?

    The child is one who, in the past thirty second has run full-pelt into Nedzu, sending them both to the floor; promptly carefully pulled the hero up by the front paws in lieu of ham-fistedly attempting to scoop him up around the middle like most humans, particularly children or dismissive adults, are inclined to do; and proceeded to apologise profusely whilst calling themselves a Deku.

     

    What an intriguing child that he has come across.

    Shouta and Naomasa have seen this one homeless kid around for a while, already. And he seems sweet, honestly, because he takes kittens to shelters even though he has very little himself and risks losing even that to do so, and he is clearly so scared but so bright too.

    And slowly, much to their quiet, hopeful joy, Izuku begins to creep further into their hearts and mind and lives until, they think, he might not leave anymore.

    And sometimes... Sometimes he just has to survive. Sometimes he has to be bad and ugly down to the very marrow, sometimes he has to be the sort of person that he doesn't like, but if he wakes up one more day then at least maybe he can be a better person then. (Maybe, one day, he will have someone who loves him, or he will be able to help people, and it will have been worth it.
    Izuku, perhaps foolishly, still has hope.)

    But, today, he might not have to steal. Because there is food left just outside the alley that he has spent the night in.
