Summary
I don't like using MPAA ratings (G, PG, R, NC-17) for fanfic. They are (1) designed for movies, not text, (2) often applied badly to fic, because the standards are so vague, and (3) used by the MPAA to discriminate against topics they finds offensive, gay sex being at the top of that list. And I don't want to support a system that says "gay sex is more obscene than het sex."

“He’s dangerous. He has trust issues that we may not be able to breach, he will not like working with others, he will lie to us about his motivations every chance he gets and, most likely, be successful every time.” Coulson’s gaze drifted back to the empty chair Barton had chosen earlier, boxed in the corner yet protected on as many sides as possible. “It won’t be easy, but if we can win his loyalty he has the potential to be the asset we’re looking for.”
Fury agreed, though neither of them would ever dream that they already had Barton’s loyalty, or that the price it cost was so steep.

Bruce has no idea how to have a relationship. Any kind of relationship. Neither does Tony, really, although he manages the "hang out and do fun stuff together" on several levels. Pepper is the hero of this story; she manages to navigate her and Tony's and eventually Bruce's needs and make sure they all get time to think, and feel, and lots of orgasms.
