Summary
This little guide will focus on the ::first-letter and ::first-line pseudo elements, suggested to me by user PeterLinderman in a comment. I experimented quite a bit on them and found out how to apply them in a lot of ways, both for workskins and siteskins.
CHAPTER 1: how to use the ::first-letter pseudo element in the whole work.
CHAPTER 2: using the ::first-line pesudo element in the whole work.
CHAPTER 3:using a different first-letter and first-line style for each chapter.
CHAPTER 4: how to have a first letter or first line in a matching text style with the line divider or blockquote.
CHAPTER 5: applying the codes to the work title, username, chapter title, summary and notes.
CHAPTER 6 (new): how to make the first letter/first line of each paragraph in a different style using the div command and the nth-child element.
CHAPTER 7 (formerly chapter 6): how to use the ::first-letter and ::first-line in a siteskin and even change the style of the work you're reading through your siteskin.Series

This is a tutorial/live example on how to create a "Choose Your Own Adventure" fic. While this has been explained before (see here), this particular tutorial shows you how to use a work skin to hide the next parts from the reader until they click through to get to them.
