Summary
Cheng Xiaoshi and Qiao Ling reconnect with an old friend from university, who tells Cheng Xiaoshi she loves him. Platonically? Romantically? Cheng Xiaoshi doesn't know either. Cheng Xiaoshi subsequently struggles with the idea of being loved, the notion of family and his own feelings.
Meanwhile, Lu Guang can feel his own boundaries slipping despite his better judgement. And is busy angsting, but hey, what's new, really?
There's quite a plot twist in this, actually.

Lu Guang repeated himself over the radio, as if what was happening was unreal to him too.
Cheng Xiaoshi's voice cracked as he responded, “Thank you, thank you so much guys! Oh my god. You’ve made a kid’s dream come true.”
“And thank you Lu Guang! Oh man, I love you. So much.”
“Wait, did he-”

Tsukasa Tenma, the second-in-command of the Royal Knights, is sent on a mission one day to arrest an unknown man causing havoc on the coast.
That really should have been the end of it, but somehow, said man (Kamishiro Rui, or so he claims), joins him on a journey to the frontlines of the war, where the battle between the humans and the demons has almost reached its breaking point.
To make things worse? The commander of the Royal Knights has gone MIA, and Rui is acting way too friendly towards someone who just arrested him.
