CodenameCarrot

A green bath with a mortician window; a lady is facing away fom the viewer, naked except for a cloth slug low around her hips. Perhaps she'll enter the bath, perhaps she's just an attendant, preparing the room for a future bather.

to the sky without wings by leupagus

Pre The Force Awakens: How Poe Dameron grew a tree, became the pilot we meet escaping the first order, watched General Organa’s marriage and kid go to shit, and survived his lifelong crush on Luke Skywalker.

Bookmarking this both because it’s a good read and because it’s completely untagged, so I’ll never find it again if I don’t.

“If this is what leave does to you after two days, I’m glad I never took any,” says Kala. “Come on, you need ablution and a nap. And a toothbrush, good currents of the dark waters, Dameron, when’s the last time you brushed?”

Poe is bullied out of his clothes and into the shower, then bullied out of the shower and into clean sweatpants, then bullied into eating a bowl of shyli soup, then bullied into bed. “You’re going to be such a good mom one day,” he mutters as Kala tucks the blankets around him until he’s cocooned and immobile. It’s how children on her planet are tucked into bed every night; no matter how many times he tells her that humans don’t sleep like that, she never listens.

“If kids are anywhere as much trouble as you, I’m eating them immediately after they hatch,” she says, and Poe drifts off dreaming of Luke, turning to smile at him and taking off his face to reveal Snoke beneath; dreaming of a tree, blue-green and shimmering, catching hold and trapping him until he has to cut off his own arm and fall, screaming, into the darkness.

    Summary

No one knows what the Council is hiding, but the effects ripple throughout the galaxy. Anakin knows he is loved. Former slaves are freed. A long-lost Master and his Padawan are returned to the Temple. No one understands how Obi-Wan Kenobi does these things, but they are grateful for it anyway.

A time-travel story from the points of view of everyone but the time travelers. Also my first ever fanfiction. Updates every Monday now, starting 4/20!

    Ib'tuur Jatne Tuur Ash'ad Kyr'amur by ziggyzigzagged

As the summary says “this is a time travel story written from the perspective of everyone but the time travels.” At the start we know that Obi-Wan had a vision unjust before the battle of Naboo and we later learn that five others in the temple were included in “the Seeing.” Starting with preventing Palpatine’s rise to chancellor, they work to prevent the clone wars and the rise of the sith.

Each chapter is a self-contained story of about 10,000 words using a crisp third person perspective from a character not in The seeing. Their POV, though process, and feelings are well expressed and a chapter from Anakin has a different feel than one from Jango or Shmi or Asajj. You can easily read one chapter at a time or binge the whole thing.

The final chapter is an author's note from 2021 indicating that ziggyzigzagged had severe COVID, and was now on disability. With no other updates to this work (their only fic on the site) I have marked it as both incomplete and abandoned. If you want to read it, you have to enjoy it as-is.

The Jetiise hadn’t hated the Haat Mando’ade , but they had slaughtered them anyway. Jango thought that made it worse, somehow, the fact that it seemed to have meant so little to them to kill his vod’e .

That day marked the first and only time that Jango had ever encountered a Jetii , but it had left a lasting impression. And it was likely due to Galidraan that he was able to clock the man at the bar as a Jetii when no one else did.

He was dressed appropriately, the usual beige robes they wore replaced by tight dark pants, tall boots, a green shirt, and a dark brown synthleather jacket to match the pants. His copper hair was kept short, but with a fringe falling just so across his forehead, and red stubble covered his cheeks. Between the man’s appearance, his casual slouch against the bar, and the way he kept one hand resting on the blaster at his hip as he waited for his drink, the other occupants had taken one look and dismissed him with only a few lingering stares, likely because he was an attractive man.

But Jango knew , somehow, deep in his bones, that he was a Jetii .

You have the French translation on FF.net and Wattpad, "La Saga de la Tempête" that I wrote myself (it's my real version, before I translated it into English)! This translation will one day be posted on AO3!

The Portuguese translation is available on Wattpad, Storm's Saga, translated by Jacknovak67! Thanks a lot for this translation!

    Storm's Saga by Elfelmira

Ch.25 - If a Jedi master believes being captured by the enemy is a vacation hard enough: it comes true. (Just ask Obi-Wan and the Mando’s that kidnapped him) a.k.a. Obi-Wan/Stale Bread

"Ah no!" Obi-Wan protested as he turned, still lying on the floor. "If you want to interrogate me, torture me or whatever, do it tomorrow. Now shut up and let me sleep!"

And Obi-Wan fell asleep in stunned silence.

    OoO

"Uh?" Kal pointed at the Jedi, perturbed. "Is this normal behavior? Because usually people panic when they see Mandalorians in armor in front of them after a kidnapping."

"And he's a Jetii!" Myles agreed, confused. "Our mortal and hated enemy! He should be trembling in fear before us! Not...sleeping? Is he really asleep?"

There was something about the blond boy in the crowd of detainees that caught Commander Yarryn's attention. Something that pulled at his gut and told him there was more about this captive than met the eye. It was his duty to find out what it was the boy was hiding - and find it he would, for Yarryn was very good at his job.

    Instinct by treenahasthaal

A third party (Imperial Officer) POV of Luke Skywalker post-Yavin. Dark and Haunting it should be read a single story, although it has an unfinished prequel.

Thoughts on Swan Lake by Sarah

Modern short story retelling of swan lake from the perspective of Odile. In 2nd person but I didn’t notice until the 3rd read through because it’s so good.

You call your boss the twenty-sixth, and tell him that your father’s had some health issues, you’re going to need FMLA. He tells you not to worry about it, just make sure to let HR know.

Outside the window, the swans are huddled together on the half-frozen pond in your backyard, their heads bent together like lovers. You can’t help admiring the elegant curve of those long, white necks, how lovely they are, set against the grey slate of the sky and the shadows of the skeletal trees. They’re trembling—you didn’t even know swans could get cold.

You tell your boss you’ll keep him updated.
