It unfurled in the bright silence of Beatrice's observation like a plant exposed to sunlight, testing its shoots for somewhere which might provide more energy. She padded over to the window in her shirt and watched the day dawn over the ocean.
She could see that sunrise Vincent had written about in that diary entry, streaking across the sky.
Fishermen sat by their boats, in from the first round of fishing (not that there were very many left in the ocean), shouting at apprentices to pull the boats in and weigh their catches. Women joined, running from behind the stalls, clamouring for the best fish to sell alongside the meat and vegetables they had found and cured themselves. Half-burned, blackened trees huddled in on either side of the flat clearing as skeletons conserving heat.

Laudna is flung off of the sword. As she hits the ground, she is struck with a world-ending need to say Imogen’s name. She has to feel her lips touch on “Im” and the soft circle her mouth makes on “mo” and the way “gen” brings her tongue to the roof of her mouth. With the air thinning around her, Laudna works her jaw around the three syllables. She wishes that someone was close enough to tell her if she managed to get the word out.
“You didn’t,” a man says slowly. “But that’s alright. I heard you anyway.”

When Mon-El comes to Earth, all the (straight) girls fall for him, he has this *magic* charm or whatever. And he’s the type who would act on it.
BUT who’s to say Kara doesn’t actually have the same power? Literally all the guys she has around, and arguably all the girls *choughs* Kat *choughs* Lucy *choughs* Shioban *choughs* LENA *choughs* have a crush on her, only she’s too pure, clueless and maybe ace to see it/act on it?
Yes only the guys actually asked her out, but maybe all these bi girls were socialised into recognising a crush as *admiration* or *friendship*, and Kara is not responding to it at all so they don’t even try.
Tl;dr Kara has the same super-charm as Mon-El but she’s ace and clueless."
