If you asked them, this fic is about how Shane Hollander and Bernadette Martin continue to have absolutely no issues whatsoever with each other, really. Like, if we're being objective here, they are the normal ones! And it is everyone else who is weird about how Hollander and Coach Marty are....them.
Really, this fic is Bern and Shane being progressively weirder while insisting they are normal, actually, and making it everyone else's problem.
Mainly Ilya, they are mainly making it Ilya's problem. And a little bit Coach Wiebe's problem. And Jean from HR, the Centaur's roster, maybe a bit Harris, Shane's parents, the TSN broadcast team, Team Canada as an organizational system and the city of Ottawa.

Troy Barrett was literally vibrating out of his skin. Should he look at Shane? Would it be too obvious? Wait, of course it wouldn’t be too obvious, no one else on the Centaurs was part of the Team Canada training camp for that World Cup of Hockey thing they did last year.
Troy looked across the room at Hollander. And, yup, he was frozen with that weird smile on his face. Didn’t seem like anyone else had noticed. Did Ilya even know about the whole Shane-and-Bern hate-fest?
